Hey All

Already blessed - I am so sorry for your little angel who preferred to be with your grandma. I really pray that your bleeding stops, I can understand how scary it can be. I appreciate your courage and request you to continue with same fervor. Everything will be alright. God bless you and your little beanie. All the best for your scan and we will be waiting for a update.

Amazu - Thanks for the advise. I was using a Chinese balm for the headache and it helped me a lot. But then now, my m/s seems to have subsided and I have started eating things I had left because of smell. Things are seemingly better now. I am happy that you are also sailing in almost same ship and that you have begun to feel good.

Babyloves - I recall that you also have u/s round the corner, hope all goes great with you as well.

As for me, I am waiting for my 12 week scan on Friday...and still it seems so far away. I can't imagine how much can I hog early in the morning. lol. I feel so hungry right in the morning...I wonder baby does a lot of acrobatics (which obviously I cannot feel now) which makes me so darn hungry...:) Its funny!!! My DH is also amazed to see my appetite and keeps on asking all the time if I want something to eat. I am loving the pampering which is happening now.

Hope all the moms to be are doing great!!!

HUGS TO ALL

Hi all,
Back to work today, as you said symptoms are significant, specially m/s and intermitent bleeding. But I feel pregnant and that is the best! Thank you so much for accepting me as a March buddy.
Alreadyblessed, so sorry to hear about one of your babies :( Maybe the bleeding is part of eliminating all tissue so things progress well for the other one.
I know that staying in bed or watching TV doesn't fill the day. I am resting too, at least a couple of hours a day. It helps, the nurse said. She said that the bleeding in my case is due to tears near areas where the placentas are growing. Also, I do have a deficiency in progesterone (IVF is not a natural process so the orchestra of hormones needs to be leveled chemically) and they doubled the strenght of the intravaginal progesterone. No way of measuring it right as blood levels do not reflect what is going on in the uterus. So many reasons for bleeging and only one thing to do: wait.
I am taking a statistics course on DVD. It helps!

Amazu, we did have our IVFs done in Brazil. It is cheaper - now the economy there is going well so it not that good but much better compared to anything in euros. One dollar is R$ 1,65 apprx. My doctor is very good and we still talk over the phone. Of course now I have my OBGY and there will be the high-risk team but...I still trust my doctor there. In Brazil it is against the law to profit from eggs commerce so there is a shared eggs model (you pay for the treatment of an infertile couple and eggs are shared). There is an association of credentialized fertility clinics that follow international protocols in Latin America.

Be well, everyone (mommies and little ones)

Hi Ladies,

Alreadyblessed - Sorry to hear abt your baby b but thanks to God that everything is good with Baby a. May your grandma and baby rest in peace. Please take rest as much as possible and hope you get an answer of your bleeding in your next appt. and they can do something to stop it. I know it is very frustrating when you are pg but bleeding.

Literatriz - Thanx for the info on Brazil. My insurance is exhausted so if we want to have another ivf in future we need to see all the options.

Sonu911- I know how it feels to wait for another appt. After 12 weeks, will you go every alternate week or once in a month bcoz here we are shifted to regular gyn and go in regular one month gap unless there is something urgent. It is good that the balm is helping you as it doesn't relax me at all when I have a headache so I have to take tylenol extra strength.

Babyloves - Have you left us totally and joined the april group. We would love to have you here too . My EDD varies from march 29th ( as per gyn) to apr 1st ( as per ivf). But I thought to be a march mommie to be. As early I can have a healthy baby in my arm I would love it.

I hope other ladies are doing fine and just busy in their life. :D

Hello ladies!

I was lost for a while due to connection problems (which have just been solved! )

I am Mafalda, 11w4d pregnant after my 7th ivf!

I had begun writing in another thread I think... but I can't remember where! (...hormones! )

Anyway, we initially saw 2 sacs but one of them did not look good from the beginning... so the doctor warned us it would most probably be rejected, which is actually the case.
The other embryo is doing really well, but I have had some medium bleedings and brown spotting during the first weeks, but thank God this has disappeared in the past couple of weeks.
Due to this fact I took time off from work and expect to return around Sep 20th, if all goes well.

My due date is 12 March 09.

My next scheduled appointment is on 1/9 for my NT scan - hope everything continues to go well!

I do wish everyone happy and relaxed pregnancies, with no unexpected events!

See you around!

hi ladies...sorry about being MIA for a while...this thread was quiet over the weekend and i again had my family over, but i did miss talking with all of you :D i'm feeling extremely well today and so thankful to God for keeping our babies healthy...the u/s today went well...baby A and B had good hbs 200, and 154...actually didn't hear them as the doc did not want to disturb them, but their little hearts looked much bigger than last time. Think we'll be able to hear them with a doppler at 10 wks...I've been dismissed to the ob now...wow..my first time getting pregnant and going to the obgyn for things other than a pap exam... :D

My DH had to run off to work afterwards...so i decided to treat myself and went shopping...maternity clothes are hard to find, and i figured i don't need them quite yet altho i look 3-4 mos pg  ...just got some nice perfume and some new facial products for good skin while i'm pg!

Anyway...my EDD is technically 4/6 (full term), but with twins, i'm sure it'll be in march...i prefer march anyway - i like pieces more than aries and taurus..

malfalda: welcome! sounds like ur bean is doing really well. Glad ur bleeding has stopped..i'm sure that was frightening.

literatriz: welcome to the group as well..i'm glad we're getting more company...wow...having IVF in another country sounds cool...Brazil must have been nice. Hmmm...your statistics comment was funny...i've studied this and real suck at it...

Amazu: thanks for checking on me  i'm also in between march and april so i'll definitely stay in both groups...praying for healthy babies for all for us!!

sonu911: i'm glad ur headache and m/s are subsiding and the nice pg symptoms of being a little piggy are starting :D i'm also waiting for that so i can eat whatever i want and not have to worry about calories! I will just tell myself i'm eating for three!. I hope all goes well on friday...since ur leading the way for us....are they going to do any NT scans or special tests soon?

alreadyblessed: lots of hope and prayers to you for a successful pg with ur little bean! hoping you are coping with ur grandma's loss, but knowing she and ur other baby are together.

kimmysq, jennywit...how are you doing? To anyone else i've missed...wasn't intentional....hope y'all are doing fine

Hi ladies!
Well, finally had my 1st appt with the OB. I'm 8wks today, and still bleeding. He is a high risk doc, and his attitude was "everything looks great, I am not worried, you don't have to be on complete bed rest, doing that is not going to change the cours of things, but continue to take it easy". Baby bs HB is gone, but the sac is still in the uterus. He believes my body will just absorb it. He will see me again on Fri, and then weekly to follow my progress, and "put my mind at ease". He said that he sees more women bleed during pregnancy than not, so go home and try to relax. Easy for him to say. :D

babyloves, my due date is just after yours 4-7, but with my ,last 2 pregnancys, I was 3 wks early, so I anticipate that if all goes well that I will be having a march baby with all of you. How are you feeling with carrying two? are you exhausted? cravings? Congrats again.

Mafalda~ I am 8 wks today, but experienced the same as you with losing the one twin. How far along were you? When did you start/stop bleeding? How are you feeling now? Congratulations, and welcome to our post! :D

Amazu~ thanks for the sweet words, Still no reason for the bleeding. You had to see my husbands face when the nurse came in to take about 9 vials of blood from me. He was like " Does she have that much left?" I was cracking up.

Literatriz~ I was reading your post, it's interesting that you have tearing around the sacs, because mine was between and around them. I wonder if it is the same. Also, my last IVF which produced my DD, I was going to switch from progesterone injections to the suppositories, and the nurse told me that they are not as good. Maybe you could get the injections?

sonu911~ Thanks for your words, you are like my friend in faith. I am so glad to finally be off complete bed rest. I still can't be running around, but to be able to eat dinner at the table in itself is a blessing. Ever try to eat pasta in bed? UGH  Hope you are feeling well! God bless!

Ok ladies...just a quick one....:)

Mfalda - Welcome to our little cosy group!! My due date is also 3/12 and so nice to have a buddy with the same due date :) Hope to share great time together!!

Alreadyblessed - I am so glad all went well and that you are off the bed rest. But my advise will be to take it easy.
I am not working and since my last miscarriage I spent these 12 weeks practically in my room taking it easy. My room is on the first floor, so I avoided stairs alltogether, I used them only when I had to for an appointment to the doc. So, I have been on house arrest for these weeks, it was my choice as I took things easy last time, I didn't want to take any chances this time. :)

Babyloves - Yay!! the heartbeats are great and looks like you have a blue and a pink in there. :) How nice that will be!! I don't know which tests will be for me on Friday. Lets' see.

Amazu - Glad all is going well and that days are progressing. :)

Lit, jen hope u guys are also doing great.
see you all around soon!!!

Hi Ladies,
Quick update : I went for my 2nd u/s today. I am 9w 1d and baby's HB has increased to 176 bpm which the dr. said is good. The cysts which are still there from my last u/s seems not to change much. Hope to shrink by 12th week if no complication. Next NT scan with high risk pg dr has to be scheduled in coming 2 weeks. My next ob/ gyn appt is in a month :( but then I got to see my baby in 2 weeks with the NT scan :D

mafalda and absolute herb - Welcome and congrats ! Wish you a healthy pg.

Since I had to spend 3 hrs in drs clinic due to the fault of the new receptionist who didn't put u/s time, I am late in other things so not much time for personals, sorry. Hope everybody is doing fine. Will write in detail next time.

Hi All
I went in for my u/s and saw my lil baby with hand and legs moving. Though the face features were still alien like...:) It was so thrilling and out of the world experience. I was so worried that I kept on looking at the face of the tech who was doing the u/s and with each satisfied expression I was also convinced that everything is going right. And then he told me, that everything is normal and perfect, the heart rate was something around 160, we heard that too. :) he showed us the head, stomach, blood circulation and told us that many organs are already formed and other are still forming.

I knew most of the facts but it was another thing hearing it from the doc's mouth. Then I have a testing of down's syndrome in the 17 th week, its when I have my next appointment with doc.

My meds have changed, I started with iron and calcium tablets and continuing progesterone for this month also but only once a day. The doc didn't say naything abt Folic Acid, I guess I have to discontinue that. But I have seen many preg ladies taking it in 2nd trimester too, weel I am nt too sure abt that, I will cross check with the doc again.

I hope all me preggo friends are doing great!!!

Have a happy and relaxing weekend.

Hi ladies!

First of all, thank you very much for the warm welcome!

I wish everyone a healthy and relaxed pregnancy!

sonu911 - indeed we are due date buddies! in our last u/s (11w 3d) we also saw our baby move its tiny hands and legs - we practically melted in the doctor's office! it was the first time we realized that an actual human being is growing in there... all previous u/s were a bit hazy, a white-ish bean moving around... but this was really different!

alreadyblessed - I started having minor bleeding and/or brown discharge  around w6, it only lasted for 1-2 days and stopped really fast. but this happened again and again, everytime I took an extra step I could feel my tummy cramp and then I could see the spotting or even some blood. I had to lie down most of the day during these weeks. this continued up to w9, when I had another bleeding after a whole day of rest in bed at a nice hotel  , so we had yet another ultrasound and confirmed that the 2nd sac was regressing (I am not sure if this is the right term!...) but our embryo was holding on really well without any apparent detachment.
I have not seen even a single brown spot since w9 and cramps have also almost disappeared, which is a big relief!

regarding meds: I am taking progesterone and estradiol (which I have begun reducing gradually as my ob has instructed me - estimate I will stop completely by w14, around 13/9), folic acid, acetylosalicylic acid and magnesium. I am not taking any iron supplements yet as my blood tests came back really well so my ob said we can wait a bit more (which is another big relief as I know iron can really worsen constipation! ).

Monday 1/9 is the big day - I am going for my NT scan and PAPP-A test. hope everything goes well - pls. keep your fingers crossed for me!

Ladies, sorry if I am not responding to each and every one of you separately - I am still trying to get to know everyone!

all my best :D

Hi ladies,
glad to see sonu and malfalda's babies growing nicely with little hands and feet...it must be so exciting..a big congrats and hugs to you too!

i sometimes wonder if they're still there growing as my weight hasn't really increased and my belly has actually come down...i think i was bloated and gassy. My next u/s will probably be at my ob's office on 9/9. I think she'll send me to a high risk doc for the NT scan as i have twinnies.

sonu: i think you're supposed to continue the multivitamin that contains folic acid throughout the pg, but i could be wrong. It's good for neural tube developement which closes at around 6 wks which you're way past :D , but probably good for brain development as well.

waiting for Labor Day

Post by Literatriz »

Hi all,
Labor day is two days ahead...at least for the hopeful Americans driving to the beach. For us, there are still a couple of months ahead, hopefully just enough for our little ones to come out kicking and screaming :)
AlreadyBlessed, there is a controversy around injections and suppies in protocols of progesterone. What I notice is that as soon as insert the suppies I feel the uterus responding with tiny contraction and warmth. My doctor said that recent publications indicate that blood levels do not represent accurately the uterus progesterone levels, as much of it is absorbed localy and never reaches the circulation. Anyways, my bleeding has stopped and I am not a great fan of injections. Hope you get rid of them very, very soon!

Mafalda, congratulations on your pregnancy! Enjoy every minute!

Som911, are your headaches like migraines? Anything you could do dietwise, avoiding some foods/artificial stuff?

Amazu, hope your cist shirnks and your corpus luteous grows as expected! Isn't that great to hear the heartbeat?

I do have some news: pics of our 3 little beanies and heartbeats ranging from 120 and 118 (they are 32 days old). Bleeding is no longer a concern but the progesterone suppies are still producing discharges, all within the disgusting brownish pallete! But we don't care, do we?

Be well, best wishes, Literatriz

Hi again Ladies
Sonu~ I am taking your advice and taking it easy. We had friends over today and I was sitting on the deck for a while and got tired, and decided to listen to my body and go lay down for a bit. Well, needless to say that when I woke up 3 hours later, everyone was on desert, but glad to see me doing well. :o

Mafalda~ I am hoping that my bleeding subsides soon. Isn't it such a scary experience. I was convinced that the hemmorhage type bleeding was from my body trying to let go of the twin that did not survive, but each ultra sound shows the sac still there. My baby A is a trooper, and is hanging on tight. Thank God. But I have to tell you that the days where blood pours out of me all I can think is "is this it". Thanks for sharing your story. I am 8w5d today, I hope 9w is the ending mark for me.

Literatriz~ I don't know too much about the research behind the progesterone suppos' or injs' I just figured that they are both an option, and if you are having probs with one, maybe you could switch to the other. Gotta tell ya, that 1 1/2 inch needle is no fun. DH is needle phobic, and I swear the first 10 injections he closed his eyes, and just darted me. I think it may have been more painful for him than for me! :D Either way, you are chugging along just fine it seems with 3 beautiful hbs, so if it aint broke, don't fix it right. :)

Thank you Lord for this blessing
love and miss you gram and baby b
