Denise - I am planning on asking my OB but she is away until next Tuesday. I am just trying to make it until then. Hope things went well with your ultrasound. Let us know how it turned out.
Sameera - I had a biophysical ultrasound last week and it said my baby boy was 1lb 2oz so you are around the same as me and we are due around the same time so I think the weight is good.
Jenny - Congradulations on the baby boy! Very exciting. Sorry you were feeling so awful. I am glad you are feeling better. I have heard of placenta previa but I don't know anyone that has had it. Hopefully you will be lucky and it will just go into the right position unless you want to have a c-section. The only thing i don't like about c-sections is that the date of the babies birth is chosen. I have a lot of friends that wanted a c-section and others that didn't so I guess it comes down to personal preference.
Dr Jen....congrats on the boy!!!!!!! I just wanted to drop in a offer some ressurance about your previa. As you know, I look at my baby quite often at work and a doc a work found I had a complete previa at 15 weeks. I asked her to look again at 17 weeks and it was still there. I was really freaked out and kept imagining all the worst complications.....placental abruption being the biggie. Then I started to read a little about it and found out that more than 9 out of 10 previas diagnosed before 20 weeks resolve by themsleves. So, at my 20 week US (last week) I was anxious to find out if I still had a previa.....much to my delight my OB told me the placenta had already moved away from the internal os of the cervix and was now just anterior and low.....fine for a vaginal delivery.....so, hang in there, I bet yours will move away too. Sometimes it doesn't move away until the last trimester because the lower segment of the uterus does most of its growing in the last trimester. So, relax and enjoy. Some docs advice against having sex while you have a previa, so if he didn't talk about that you may wanna just check in and see what he recommends.

jenn- sorry to hear about your reflux...I get really bad acid indigestion & reflux on occasion...my OB ok'd OTC prevacid/famotidine. If I take one even after the heartburn starts it goes away within 15 min. I don't know if that will help with reflux...I try to take tums 1st but it doesnt help all that much so I have to take the other med. I don't like taking meds but sometimes its that or be miserable. Soemtimes I feel like I am going to die the heartburn is so bad! Hope this helps!
Jenny- congratulations on the boy!!! I can relate to your nausea...I had it bad until 13 weeks...everytime I would try to do a procedure I could feel a wave of nausea coming on. Thankfully it is gone now and I can somewhat function! How is your baby-bump coming along?
sameera- congratulations on the boy/girl! yay for DH right?! How many weeks are you...I think 1lb is right on for 22/23 weeks isn't it? Plus, you are so petite there is only so much you can do...putting on that much weight isn't necessarily going to benefit the babies, it may only make it harder for you to function. Twins tend to be smaller anyway right?
denise- can't wait to find out!
I had a bad day yesterday I felt like I was going to pass out...turns out my blood sugar, pressure, and iron were all too low. The family practice doctor I work with made me down a soda right away. I have to start bulking up on the vitamin and iron I guess. I have an OB appt next week so I'll let her know, but I've been feeling really tired and weak. I guess that is just a normal part of being pregnant!
God Bless!

Chelly- sorry you had a bad day. Yeah you definitely should let your ob know about the weakness and try to take your vitamins and drink lots of fluids.
I'm 22weeks and I have asked a lot of other twin moms about the weight and they all said it ws normal to be 1lb by 22 weeks. So i am not gonna worry about it.
I guess as long as they are happy and i am not starving myself it should all be good.
Jenn- reflux sucks but yeah let your OB know maybe he/she can prescribe you anything.

nicaliw: Thanks for the encouraging words. I was 18w6d at my u/s and will have another 6wks after this. My Dr said there is a 50% chance of the placenta moving. My biggest fear is the complications that can arise. Obviously, I would prefer a vaginal delivery over a c-section, but I'll do anything for my baby boy! Yes, my Dr also said no sex--not that I feel like it anyway! He also doesn't want me to exercise--I was doing Pilates for Pregnancy--I stopped now. Do you know anything abt previa affecting the baby's growth?
Chelly-I've been feeling tired too. I think it's partly our career choice!
jenny- hopefully your placenta will start to shift around as the baby gets older. Luckily nowadays the OB care is so good that even if you need to have a c-section things should go well. don't stress yourself about it...there really is nothing you can do but wait and see!
do you have names or themes for your nursery yet?
sameera- thanks for the advice! sometimes its hard to snack when I get really busy but I will just have to put my foot down and take a break.
God Bless!

I'm sorry, I don't know anything about your baby's growth being affected by a previa. I never heard that before, is that what your OB said? I'm sure he know a whole lot more than I do about this. The whole thing is a bit of a worry, the good thing is if you do have to have a c-section you have the chance to pick the delivery date AND its a little earlier than your due date. if you're anything like me afew days early sounds great. I had to giggle at what you sad about not liking sex.......not much interest here either.
Has anyone else gained a LOT of weight? I have gained about 20lbs so far. CRAP. I didn't realize I was piling it on so fast, so I have cut back on a few little extras and making better choices. I'm also going regularly to the pre-natal swim classes. Hoping to see the next weight jump up quite so much. My bottom feels HUGE today....good thing my belly is big enough to keep my balance.

nicaliw: My Dr said the baby's growth could "theoretically" be affected--just one more thing for me to ponder and worry about! Glad the sex thing made you laugh I have also gained alot of weight--I have been eating ice cream, milk shakes, etc--I started cutting back after I got weighed Monday!
Chelly-try to snack while a pt is getting numb--take time for you and your baby --pt's will wait!!
My husband has always wanted to name our son Wyatt--so he wins! The nursery will be pooh/classic pooh. I haven't even started it yet! Have you started yours? I had 2 pts no show-unusual lately--so I have time to talk today!
Michele - I am taking the tums for the time being until my OB gets back next week. I seemed to have figured out a temporary solution which is working okay as of right now. I hope you are feeling better today! Have you called your OB yet to let them know what happened.
Jenny - I have to say like the comment about the sex! I am feeling the same way.
Nic - I had gained 15lbs after my last appointment which was at the end of July. I am scared to know how much I weigh now. I don't go to my OB until Sept 8th so I hope I haven't gained to much more. For awhile I was eating lots of milkshakes and stuff but now i got back onto the fruits instead. Hopefully that will even out my indulgences.
sameera- i am planning on working as long as I can...the only reason I would stop sooner is if the OB says to or I physically can't do something. But my work isn't quite as physically demanding, I can just have my assistants roll me from one room to the next!
You may have to take off early b/c you are having twins...that would be totally understandable. Working part time from home will help I bet.
jenn- Hopefully the tums will be all you need! No, I haven't called my OB...I have an appt next Thursday...and I know all they will say is to take more iron and eat more. Yeah, the sex thing is getting a little awkard, since I have to be on top now I feel huge, I have my belly sticking out! DH doesn't seem to mind....he thinks its cute.
jenny- wyatt sounds like a wonderful name! I bet DH is glad he gets to choose the name! I think pooh will be adorable for a little boy. We are doing bunnies for our girl, its the 'bunny meadow' organic line from babies-r-us. I didn't really want to go crazy with pepto-bismol pink, she has enough pink/purple wardrobe as it is! But as of now the nursery is still empty!
niki- I honestly don't know how much weight I have gained. I refuse to weigh in between appts, and my next one is next week. But honestly, I don't eat fast food and all I have been craving is fruits & salad. I really don't even want ice cream or chocolate...I can't remember the last time I had those. I am trying to stay away from the simple carbs since my blood sugar is wacky...I try to stick with fruits and complex carbs. My birthday was Monday, and I've only eaten 2 slices of cake....pre-pregnancy I could eat the whole thing in one sitting! I guess my tastes have changed....
God Bless!

Sameera - I know what you mean. I am thinking of taking the entire month of December off. My due date is Jan 1st on most of my ultrasounds and on the other few December 29th so I was thinking that Christmas time is so busy and hectic and you never know about the weather here in Canada it can be quite funny. My work allows me to take sick time until my maternity leave and then when I come back to work in a year I will have 8 weeks vacation! I'm pumped. I think knowing that in a few months i will be off for a year it makes it hard for me to come in everyday. I just want the 3 months to be over so I can stay home with my little one! So selfish of me!
Michele - DH's are quite funny sometimes. Everytime DH and I have sex he feels unconfortable that he is going to hurt the baby! I guess cause a few of our friends couldn't have sex during their pregnancy he is nervous something might happen.
jenn- hmm, my DH has never been concerned about hurting the baby during IC...I guess he did his research! We didn't have IC until I was 12 weeks b/c of the IVF, but after that, he was very ready. I think I was the one who wasn't...I know it can't hurt the baby, I think it was more of an emotional thing. I am having a hard time adjusting to the preggo-body, so I feel like he won't think I'm sexy or something. Which is actually the opposite, b/c he's always 'horny'!
My sex drive is stronger now than in the 1st trimester, but its still not what it was when we were TTC for 2 years. We were doin' it like bunnies back then!!
Is your reflux better?
God bless!

Hi ladies! I had a scare on Friday. I had brownish discharge until Sat am (sorry if TMI). I called my Dr and he called back to say not to worry as long as it is not bright red. They are watching for this especially due to my complete placenta previa. I just want to have an uneventful pregnancy, considering nothing else has been uneventful in this journey! Everytime I go to the bathroom I check for blood! I'm trying not to stress myself out. My Dr did say that I should prepare myself for bedrest later in the pregnancy. Again, I don't care what I have to do to protect my baby!
Hope you all had a good and uneventful weekend. Jenny
jenny- so sorry to hear about your scare! I would probably react the exact same way...I still check every time I go potty even though I haven't bled since 10wks.
I am 21 weeks today, and the baby kick more and more ever day! I swear she is doing somersaults in there! I am glad to feel it more now, its nice to know she is active in there.
so you may need to go on bedrest?? i agree, whatever you have to do for the baby right?
God Bless!
