IVF shared risk

Post by ava »

Has anyone had experience or used any of the centers shared risk programs for their IVF treatment? Was the care at the center the same and did you get your BFP in time?

DH and I did shared risk w/ our RE. 6 cycles (fresh or frozen) for 22,000 w/ ICSI. It took us three tries for our BFP, so we are so happy we did it. Our RE is 12,000 per cycle otherwise. So we saved money and I didn't have the stress of the finances throughout treatment. Getting a BFN is hard enough, I don't know how I would have handled it knowing we had also just lost 12 grand! And deep down, even though I thought it would work, I alsways knew that if it didn't we would get our money back that we could put towards adoption. Our care was wonderful.....I think they work even harder for the pts doing shared risk cause if they dont get you pregnant by the 2nd or 3rd try, they are losing money. Good luck!
Me 32 DH 31
DS 3rd try
8 failed cycles
No luck with adoption

Neffi211 - I notice you're from Lancaster. May I ask which clinic you used? My husband and I are considering doing shared risk at UPENN for our next cycle but I'd like to know if there is someplace closer (we live in Chester County). After 2 BFN's, we need to have some sort of insurance policy going for us. Congrats on your BFP! Hopefully 3 times will be a charm for us too.
Me: 38 DH: 35
Age related / Male factor infertility
1st IVF - BFN
2nd IVF - BFN
3rd IVF - 4 embryos frozen
FET #1 - BFN
FET #2 - BFN
Try one last time in Nov. '09?

From the numbers it looks like they expect you to get pregnant in the first or second try.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
