Hey ladies. Just wanted to come on report the sighting of two perfect little heart beats at our sonogram this morning!!!
I was so nervous but they saw twin A's heart beat right away and it's beating at 124 BPM.
They had a little trouble seeing Twin B's because he/she is kinda hiding behind twin A and I got nervous but then they saw it and it's beating at a beautiful 139 BPM.
They said that they are very happy with the measurment of them both and everthing looks just fine and dandy at this point. Big PHEW!! from me and the whole family today.

baby2008--how did it go with the lactation consultant? Was she able to help at all? I hope so...I feel your pain about bfing and dealing with bottles, etc. I had to supplement my babies, so after bfing every 3 hours, I had to clean--not fun! I did have help, though. Do you have a twins club in your area? Or a local church that you belong to? A good neighbor friend? If you let people know that you need help, I bet you could get an extra set of hands a couple days a week, just to give you a break. Just remember, it is extremely challenging to have newborn twins---you are recovering, you're sleep deprived, you're hormonal, you're stressed, and you're learning...I promise it will get better. Seriously, have hope. While I did BF, and I think it is worth it...don't beat yourself up if it doesn't work out. Formula is so healthy these days. All of my docs and the pedi were very supportive and encouraging of my decision to stop bfing at 3 months. I think I was the one putting pressure on myself, and that didn't help at all. I hope bfing does work out for you, but don't consider yourself a failure if it doesn't. I'll be sending good vibes your way! :) :) :) :)

sugabeanz---glad the girls are putting on more weight! Can you post some pics on the bucket?

Silverangels---Glad to hear about your U/S!

As for us, we're in teething HELLLLLLLLL right now! (Of course, it just had to coincide with me going back to work this week, didn't it?). Ellie has been up screaming for the past two nights, and I"m oh so vividly remembering those sleepless nights from infanthood. I hope this ends soon! Poor Braeden tries to sleep through her screaming. He's such a good sport. I just know that his turn will be coming around soon.

Kholtan--did AF come? :?: :?: :?:

baby2008--Glad the consult went well! I so remember having to wake my babies during feeds! That was so frustrating...I did have to feed my babies every 3 hours for the first couple of months, so sometimes I did have to wake them. At night, I was allowed to let them wait to eat until they woke. Around 3 or 4 weeks, I think they'd sleep about 5 hours? I'm really not sure. It's hard to remember, to be honest. But, the good news is, they started to sleep through the night ( 8 hours) around 10 or 11 weeks! So, just hang in there.

If it makes you feel any better, I was up every hour or two last night with Ellie. :? I even took her to the pedi today to make sure she didn't have an ear infection. She doesn't. The pedi thinks she's mad as hell that I went back to work. Manipulative little stinker!

Kholtan--the lack of news is killing me!!!!

I have a question ladies-

I am debating what to do - this pregnancy is so freaking different.

I am getting so uncomfortable and tired. My ribs hurt, butt hurts and not to mention BACK PAIN!!!

I don't get enough sleep and it's just been getting worse and worse and I dunno what to do.

my job is sitting on my butt all day and work on the pc all day - so it's not like I have to stand allday or anything.. but i have been getting very uncomfortable...

it's making me really grouchy and mean!!! my nose is congested, i feel like my stomach is in my chest~legs/hands getting swelling..

is it normal to feel so much pressure down there?? I feel so much pressure down there especially when I walk and i feel like the babies are gonna fall out!!!

When did you guys quit working?? or when did your ob put you on bedrest or whatever??

I guess I am trying to get an idea if I should get an FMLA or not..

Sameera

I am 30 weeks and began staying at home at around 24 weeks. The twins were heavy and it just made me tired. I just recently stopped going shopping 2x/week. I made my last grocery store stop last week and my doctor told me to just sit at home, drink water and lay on my side. I feel much better and sleep much better now.

Everyone:

I have a question for everyone. Did you doctor suggest a c-section right away? My doctor did and now both twins are in the cephalic position (head down). I am starting to rethink the initial plan of having a caesarean. What do you all think?

Haven't posted in a while, but am always checking on you guys.

Joanie - I was just talking with my doc about this yesterday. She said that even if they get vertex/vertex the first one to go can kick the other out of position and back up high in your uterus. I know this is such a tough call, I think about it all the time too. Still on the fence myself but wanted to share that with you. Good luck!

Sameera - Sorry you are so uncomfortable. I say if your able to stay home more why not? Can you go down to part time? You don't want the stress of how you are feeling trapped at work to do any harm to you or your babes, so not worth it. Plus, being on a PC all day is exhausting. You will be much more relaxed at home.

Sugabeanz - I just can't believe what all of you are going through. I guess it is all fairly common with multiples but stay strong and keep thinking about the day you have both your girls at home. I am sending PMA to you!

Everything is running smoothly for me. I am 17 weeks today, still no word on the sexes but they are measuring perfect and HBs are strong. Cervix is still 4.33 so we are looking good. Still feeling ms and extreme exhaustion but nothing too severe. I think I am starting to feel some movement, or a lot of gas build up  hard to tell still.

Hey Mommies! I have to be quick here due to the fact we ahve 9 house guests showing up in about 4 hours and about 50 people shortly after that for the babies party! YIKES!

Yep, party tonight! Last minute changes because of people from out of town coming and people leaving town next week. Should be fun! I'll put pics on my blog by Wed. for sure!

AF. . . finally! I was actually sort of sad about it but I'm sure it's for the best. Although I would do one more for sure and I would seriously love another set of twins. Call me crazy!

Rubylee~ Nice to see you and glad things are going so well! I had a great pg as well. What a relief huh? Keep it up! You are getting closer!

Sweetmomi~ No triplets here but we are happy to have you! Congrats! Do you know what you are having?

Joanie74~ Hello! My OB simply stated taht most twin are born c-section but I could try it any way I wanted as long as it was in an OR. That way we were already ready for the "what if". Even thought I wanted to go 100% natural, I ended up with an emergency c-section. I just had the notion that I would have plan A,B, and C and I would get whatever they needed. It wasn't a big deal to me as long as they were ok. My OB was great about just giving me teh facts and letting us decide. Good luck!

Sameera~ Sounds like you are pretty miserable. I think I am not the norm when I say I didn't really have the pressure you speak of and I worked up until the day before I went into the hospital. I also have a physically demanding job but I felt great. Sleeping was managable for me but it did take work and lots of pillows. I think you just have to guage for yourself and how you feel. Don't feel bad if you feel you need to be at home. It doesn't make a mom better or worse for taking what she knows she needs. I do remember being congested!!!! It never really went away for me and was just always there a little.
Good luck to you!

Kim~ How's Ellie???? Poor little thing! Hope she is feeling better about a new school year!

Gott run! Have sooooooo much to do and so little time! Just needed 5 minutes to do nothing!

Love~
Kimberly

Kholtan--HAVE A GREAT PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D  :D :D :D  I can't believe your babies are turning one.......Sorry to hear about AF, but maybe it's just not the time yet, you know? Did Annelise start nursing again? YOu've hit the one year mark for bfing...you amaze me! Are you aiming for 18 months? I can't remember.

Rubylee--hi! Glad you're doing well!

Sweetmomi--hi! Do you already have triplets? Or are you expecting? We haven't had any triplet mommies on here with us, but we'd love to have you join us!

joanie--When my two were both head down, my doc would consider a vag. birth. (What I REALLY wanted!) But, like Kholtan's OB, he said it would have to take place in an OR (not a cushy birthing room), just in case. As it turned out, my son (baby B) turned breech, so that sealed the deal on a c-section for us. I ended up developing pre-eclampsia at 36 weeks, so that solidified the need for a sec.

SAmeera--I'm sorry you're so miserable right now....I didn't get truly uncomfortable until much later in my pg. The last two or three weeks were nearly impossible for me to sleep. I did work full time through 30 weeks. (First grade teacher--very active job!). At 32 weeks, they put me at 1/2 days. By 34 weeks, I was starting to dilate, so I had to stay home. Keep your OB posted--In my opinion, it's better to rest, so you can keep cooking--no need to get things started too early! Good luck!

As for us, Ellie's sleeping a little better....I think things are on their way back to normal--knock on wood!

Thanks for all of your answers. I talked to my doctor today about it again and he is pretty open. I just needed some reassurance from mommies going through the same situation.

Sameera: Hopefully you are not having the same pressure I was having. It was at 20 weeks when it started. Just walking hurt. Lying down was the only thing that helped and that was hard for me to lie in bed all the time. So hopefully it is not what I had going on because that led me to preterm labor. I was seriously discuss this with your OB and make sure he checks your cervix each time you go in. Mine did not check mine the Thursday before the girls were born and I think if he did he would have put me in the hospital to hopefully not go into labor like I did...so just talk to your OB! No more preemies!

Kholtan: Have a good party!! Gosh I can not even imagine my babies turning one! Congrats on AF?? lol. I am wondering when I will get mine back because with PCOS it was just so irregular and then I am worried about getting preggers even though we had such a hard time.

Sweetmomi: Welcome! Triplets, wow!!!

Joanie: Even at 30 weeks they would have let me have a vaginal but they were both in breech so that got quickly scrapped. But it would have had to be in OR as well.

Me: (if interested lol) The wedding ring is back on! It is still tight but it goes on and off. Makes my finger look chubby, lol. At least people will not think I am a single mom now!!

GREAT news and I hope it stays great....Mackenzie tonight had GREAT breathing stats!!! Her oxygen was where it needed to be and she was breathing at the rate she should be!!! She was not doing this earlier when I was there but when Nick and I went back up she was. So hopefully it stays this way and she can slowly wean off the oxygen and high flow! *prays* So pray she keeps it up! She is now 4 lbs 11 oz (chunker!!) and on 15 cc of food! Slowly getting up there in feeds. Still needs help to poop though.

Brooke is now 4 lbs 4 oz and on 28 cc of food (remember, 30 cc is an ounce!) So really as long as she keeps going up on feeds (about 30-55cc) and can bottle feed then she gets to come home!! She is still not on bottles yet because she has some spit ups and they want to get those under control before they bottle feed her. But I pray she takes to the bottle really well and can come home. She may get too tired though sucking and would still have to get some through a tube. So pray she does not tire out when she starts on the bottle.

My mom is in town for the weekend so it will be fun to see her with them again since she has not seen them since they were a few hours old.

I am so tired of the acne on my face! I need my hormones to get back under control. The ProActive is slowly helping...I think. Brings out new zits every day so it is hard to tell. I am also ready to not look pregnant any more. I applied to the YMCA today so I will get back in the gym as soon as I get the ok from the doctor...3 more weeks and I can start to work out.
Me: 24 PCOS Husband: 25 Nada!
First IVF Jan 2008 Twin girls!

Hello strangers!!!! I just wanted to drop a quick hello and see how everyone is. First let me say Congrats to Silver Angels and baby.

Suga I am so glad they are growing stronger. They will be home before you know it.

So I will be around a lot more often now because as of yesterday I have been pulled out of work by my doctor. I had an episode of painless contractions at work last Monday and had to go to labor and delivery for like 5 hours of observation. Of course they stopped when I got there but they were only taking place when I stood up. Then this week my ankles (cankles) started swelling along with my feet and my hands some and my face is poofy and my BP was elevated at my last doc appt so the doc said with everything and considering my job is being a nurse, she wanted me out of work. So I have like 10-13 more weeks before the babies come. So I hope you guys can help me stay entertained. I am currently 25.5 weeks. I will be 26 weeks tuesday.

Sorry no personals, had a midnight snack attack and could not sleep so going to try to go back and try. Talk to you guys soon.
