Joyanna - so sorry to hear you're feeling down. I really hope your next scan brings better news, but I can only imagine how stressed out you must be feeling waiting. I'm not sure, but I think that brown d/c is not always a bad sign, particular since in your case there's a really good explanation. I too don't recall how far along you are, but it may be that your first scan was just too early and by next week you'll get much better news. I wish I had more advice on TTC over 40 - - I just turned 40 as well and honestly, while many ladies do get pg at our age, it definitely lowers the chances.

As for me, I'm doing okay, although overly obsessed with the hpts already (I know, but what can I say, I'm a POAS addict.) I'm still too early and am getting negatives, of course, but am still praying every morning to see a positive, no matter how faint. My beta isn't for another week ( ) But, I tend to be the type to want to know in advance, so I'll probably keep POAS until then. In the meantime, both me and DD have a nasty cold which isn't helping things....

Kimmy - I can't wait to hear the news from your scan on the 27th! So exciting!

Take care, everyone,

Hi Suzhan:
I too, was a POAS addict. I just couldn't resist. I would stare and stare and stare some more at that darn stick. Sometimes I would take it outside and look in the sunlight....yes, I was obsessed! :)

I am also excited for my scan, it feels like it won't ever get here.

Well, I'm 8 dp3dt and still got a bfn today on a very sensitive HPT so I'm thinking this didn't work....usually, I'd get a positive by now if it was going to be positive. I'll probably test one more time tomorrow, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I'm not sure if I can do another cycle. Part of me feels like I should be happy that I was lucky enough to get one beautiful daughter, but I just wanted so much to have one more child, and so did DH. My RE doesn't do the officially beta until 16 dp ER - ugh, another 5 days of waiting h**l....this 2ww sucks....

Sorry for the downer post, just feeling a bit lost today.

Suzhan:
I can relate to how you feel wanting a second, you deserve it!
Don't give up on this cycle. I got a very, very faint + on my hpt on 8dp3t. I used a couple different brands, one showed negative that day and another showed the faint positive. It is still so early, so stay positive!
Keep talking to your embies!!
Keep the faith,
Kim

Hi All

Gosh there is so much going on - as a crowd we definitely don't need to bother with the theme parks (and the old roller coaster!).

The turmoil and the waiting is enough to drive anyone crazy.

Joyanna - hold out for your next scan. These early weeks are the hardest. Although it is no comfort when your going through it - I read many many posts and it was confirmed by my doctors too that brownish discharge was fine and perfectly normal - perhaps especially if you lost one twin (I'm sorry to hear that) which would lower your beta slightly. Its the bright red spotting that's supposed to be more of a concern.

Suhzan - don't give up hope. Try and hold out for the best until you know otherwise. My first pregnancy I tested neg the day before the beta!! (And drowned my sorrows in a bottle of wine- whoops!). This (failed) pregnancy - I was also reading negative upto 2 days before the test.

Kimmy - congratulations to you!! Wish you the very best for your scan.

And also blessed - lovely to hear your story too :)

I don't know what to do - (why am I so indecisive). I literally got AF today - so am supposedly starting IVF tomorrow (I ring the clinic and the new protocol is to take the mini pill for 21 days????? Have any of you guys had this? I'm suspicious!!) - but I just feel like I should be healthier and like am sabotaging my own chances (I have been drinking so much coffee blah blah blah) my DH smokes too and hasn't cut down properly yet.

On the one hand I feel like I should wait a few more months (to get in tip top health - or at least make a smidgen of an effort) - on the other I just want to get this started and feel like every month I leave it - I am another month older. Oh what to do. I don't know why so doubtful - maybe still scared of facing another (and maybe) final failure at this.

Melo P:
I know it is so hard to know when to start the next cycle. I am not sure which you should do..my personality is to keep going. However, if you don't feel heathy, maybe just take one more month off?? You have gone through alot. In your heart you will find the answer.

Hi ladies!
I've been off the post for a while, so I'm trying to catch up. So much has been going on, and I was on complete bed rest until today.

kimmysq~dying to hear about your u/s tomorrow. I'm guessing twins :D

Melo-P~ I know how anxious it can be to "get right back on the horse", but listen to your body, and if you think you need a little more down time, use it to rest and be in your best possible physical and mental state. I actually wanted to start IVF in Feb, and wound up putting it off, b/c I quit smoking in March, and wanted a few months to get myself ready mentally and physically. Don't worry about getting older. It's only months, not years. Don't stress yourself. You'll know when you're ready. Good luck!!!

Suzhan~ Hang in there! I'm not sure, but you may be inbetween when the trigger shot has left your system, but not quite to where the embryo has implanted and is giving off enough HCG to be detected. Good luck with your blood work. I will be praying for you.

joyanna~ You are in my thoughts and prayers. Do not give up hope. I was told 4 different things in 4 different visits. All the while I was bleeding bright red blood (and severe clots) sorry for tmi. My reason for telling you this, is that I am still bleeding, but my little one is still strong and hanging on. How far along are you? Stay strong. God Bless!
1st IVF~DD 2004
2nd IVF~ 2008 BFP
Thank you Lord for this blessing
love and miss you gram and baby b

Hi girls

Suzhan - the 2ww is absolutely hell and emotionally so difficult. I did poas one time during the 2ww (8dp5dt) and I got a bfn. After that, I didn't poas again until my test day which was 5 days later and it was +ve. In the meantime, I just stuck my head in a good book and read and read. Especially when I woke up during the night. Do not give up.

Melo_P - You will know when you are ready to go again. My only input is that I jumped into my last 4 ivf cycles out of pure panic (am hitting 40 in October). I think that it will stand to you to be as physically and emotionally fit as possible. I found this last round of IVF very very hard and i think it was due to the fact that I was an emotional basket case after the 3 failed fets.

Kimmysq - hope you ok with the M/S and that your scan goes good.

Alreadyblessed - I cannot believe all that you have been through. Thank God that your little one is staying strong. You must be worn out with the emotional turmoil.

Thanks to you all for your positive mails during the week. As for me, GREAT news. I had my 7 week scan today and the fetus is the right size and with a beautiful little heartbeat. The fetus tripled in size in the last week and I seem to have 'miscarried' the other sac that was there last week - hence all the cramping and my spotting. I have been told to take it very easy for the next 3 weeks. I have another scan at 10 weeks. I feel so lucky and like I could sleep for a month. My dh and I found the last week unbelievable stressful but Thank God - we have a heartbeat.

Joyanna~ That's great! So wonderful to hear your news. It is so hard for us not to worry at every cramp, & every spotting. I have found the words of encouragement on these sites to be a wonderful source of helping carry me through those tough moments. I am so happy for you and your DH!!! Many congratulations!!! :D

Joyanna - what wonderful news, congratulations. I'm just so relieved to hear your little one is strong and healthy!

Thanks to everyone for their positive wishes. My clinic does the beta very late (16 dp ER) and today I'm alread 13 DP ER and still testing negative on the hpts. All the times I've been pregnant, I always test positively on an hpt by now, so it's highly doubtful. I'm prepared that this cycle didn't work. DH and I already decided we're going to proceed with one more cycle (at least two, really, because at my clinic if you pay for 2 you get the 3rd 'free'). I just turned 40 a few months ago and figure the clock is ticking down, so unless my RE has different advice, we're planning to go ahead and try another IVF when they will permit me to go ahead.

That is, unless we get pg naturally again - - might as well have fun trying

Thanks again for your support, ladies. And, just thrilled to hear your news, Joyanna!

Take care,

Suzhan:
I am also hoping the hts are wrong. I am glad you are going to jump right into another cycle if this one doesn't work. How nice that you pay for 2 and get the third free (not that you will need it )

I had my scan yesterday and it showed twins!!! We are very excited, but still cautious, as Baby A's hb was only 87. The acceptable range for 6 wks 2 days is 90 - 110, so we will see.

Hugs to all (we need it!)

Hi all. Just bumping us up the thread!

Laura - good to hear from you. Hope you are keeping well.

Suzhan - how are you & thinking of you.

Kimmysq & Alreadyblessed - how are the twins.........I just love saying that....when is your next scan?

As for me. I am about 7.5 weeks now. I feel ok but am so nervous when I feel every twinge and ache and constantly looking for signs that I am pregnant. I have on/off morning sickness but nothing like the last time I was pregnant which of course makes me feel 'worried'. Even though, everyone says to me that no two pregnancies are the same. I am praying every day that it will all work out for all of the number 2 girls. My next scan is 17 September and in the meantime I am trying to keep my mind occupied.
