Arrgh Vlada what are Tesa's symptoms!?

I've been thinking Jack & Charlie are starting to show signs...they are dribbling more than usual and chewing their hands alot!!

Just as night times had settled down to a solid 7-7 sleep........

Well,
We went ot our Pedi yesterday fo Tesa's 4 month check up and she said that she didn't see any teeth trying to break through. Still, Tesa has been quite fussy at the end of the days and she sucks on her buttom and top lip like crazy and drewling of course...
So I guess she is not quite teething yet.

I was reading one of my American books and it was talking about the 4 month well visit. I then realized that we don't have well visits here in the U.K.

Yikes!

Vlada, both of my little ones are REALLY fussy at the end of the day from about 4.30pm. And yes they are chewing their hands, drooling, sucking lips etc. Maybe it's pre-teething!

I don't think we get any check ups here in the UK now. We're on our own! There are weighing clinics and drop ins you can go to if you've got any issues you need to discuss.

Mine had their 3rd lot of jabs yesterday. Really horrible as it was one in each leg at the same time and then ANOTHER one in the left leg. Poor little things screamed their heads off. And last night Charlie's legs were all red and blotchy and swollen. It's gone down now so I think he's ok. Thank God no more injections until they are 1 year old.

I can't believe they are nearly 5 months already! That's a point...how does everyone measure months? Is 1 month 4 weeks or 1 calendar month???

Love to all,

Hayley xx

No more shots until 1 here in the UK. They have shots at 8, 12 and 16 weeks and then no more until 1 year old.

How is Tesa now Vlada? Any sign of teeth yet?

Awww I'm sure it will happen soon. Do you think she's eating enough to see her through? How many times does she wake up?

Hi everyone :D

I am so enjoying this mothering thing!

I took Ellie swimming last week, I bought someswim nappies but when I got there they had the most adorable pink bikini just in her size, I could not resist! She absolutely loves the water, so we are now in training for the 2012 olympics in London! It was ashame that they do not allow cameras at the pool, I would have loved a photo, she didn't even mind being 'dunked' under!

DH has now gone part time at work and so far its working really well with us looking after Ellie between us, I take her to work with me on a Thursday morning, when the receptionist will keep an eye on her, but I realise that when Ellie becomes more active I will need to look into childcare for that day.

I still haven't had to buy Ellie any clothes, she just got sooooooo many when she was born, I think we will have enough until she is around 6 months.

My pram broke the other day, I think DH must have forced it down and bent the workings (he is always so impatient with things!) Anyway the shop has sent it for repair, so all I have is a little stroller, which Ellie is still really a bit small for, but it will have to do, I also have the sling to carry about in.

When I get the pram back, I know that it is time for it to be converted into the pushchair, I am not looking forward to that! I will miss being able to see Ellies face as I walk along singing and talking to her (people must think I am a bit crazy but do I care

Is anyone under pressure to start feeding solids? It is recommended not to feed until around 6 months, but my Mum, Nan and older friends are all saying I should start now, even DH has started to mention it, but she is only 4 months, so I am resisting all persuasion - so far!

Re teething: Ellie is chomping away at anything near her and she is blowing so many bubbles it looks like I'm feeding her washing up liquid, or has she developed Rabies????? But no sign of any teeth yet, which is good really because 3 bites and she's off the boobies!

Ellie has her next injections next week, so far she has been fine with them, other than a bit of crying at the time, but this one is the 3 jabs :?

Keep well everyone!

Mandy

Hi Mandy, I started feeding baby rice, cereal and jars of fruit when they got to 4 months. Not loads of it, and they are still on a full 7-8oz milk at each feed. I just wanted to start giving them something to taste! And it seems to have helped with their sleeping too.

Regarding the recommendations I'm not too worried about waiting until 6 months to give them food. The recommendation always used to be 3 months, and all the food I'm using says from 4 months onwards. It feels natural to me to start giving them food, they just seem ready, and they like it too. I'm sure it's fine!

Hi Ladies!!!

I don't like to log in at work but if I don't post here I just cannot get to it from home...Yes, I started back last week and loving it! I so appreaciate the time I spend with them so much more...

Well, my little critters ARE eating like crazy! They eat rice cereal, sweet potatoes, squash, peas, green beans, pears, bananas, applesauce, prunes... all gerber 1st foods (I get the organic). They LOVE to eat and it has cut down a bit on the formula. Its great too because it has cut down on baby girl's reflux problem. They are roly-poly too - so cute! Baby boy has found his feet and he cracks up when he grabs at them. They are also laughing like crazy when you do a little tickle - he, he, he... I just so love being a new mom (again!). They don't really sleep through the night but they are only up once. I think they wake up more because they are wet through and through and need a change. Depending on what time they "fall out" they won't wake up for about 6 hours so I can get some decent sleep...

I won't do oatmeal until they are 8mo+ old as I have heard that babies can develop a wheat allergy if introduced too soon so just to be on the safe side... They are also drooling all over the place which means that teeth will make their appearance soon. They will be be 5 months on Thursday and I remember I felt my older son's teeth come out in his 5th month... so...soon...

I have to get on an exercise routine now. I had some heart trouble after they were born but with the meds I am doing great now. I just need to shape up. I am wearing my pre-preg clothes for the most part but some don't fit due to bulges in some places I never bulged before 8) I think some regular power walking will help that...

Things are going really well with my new beau. He is so wonderful. I have never had anyone in my life like that ever before. I think he's rather sexy too  and I am looking forward to a lifetime with him. He is more than wonderful with my children - all of them! All his friends tell me how he loves babies which is really wonderful to hear. It was a holiday weekend here in the states and we spent the weekend together. He took care of us by getting coffee, cooking, caring for the babies... I wish we could have a baby together but we have more than enough and besides these 2 were my last chance... thank God they are here!

Vlada - I have tried several times to send you pics and I keep getting a return message that the email is not valid... I don't know WHAT I am doing wrong... I DID dot net... I don't get it!

Michelle - sciteacher77 - had her transabdominal (yep through the belly!)cerclage last week and all went well...I am so looking forward to her baby! I hope she posts here with us!

Well, gotta do some work... Mandy I hope your DH doesn't break the pram again :) I KNOW aren't they growing just too fast!?!? Oh, Woodcliff comes home today, maybe we'll hear from here soon!

Hi ladies! quick post...so glad to hear all is well (skim read things!)

Wow...not on solids yet. Tried rice cereal 3 weeks ago but the babies weren't ready (bad reactions)...I'm looking at the 6 mo APA recommendations as well, but will ask my ped at their 5 mo if the '6 mo' recommendation is 24 weeks or 6 months from the birthdate. My ped normally goes by the birth date (ie: mine were born April 3, so tomorrow is their 5 month b-day).

Cocoa, congrats! sooo happy for you.
Me? I'm fat. still fat...need to lose 25-30 pounds... hate it but there you have it.

Babies sleep through the night all the time...but they are teething (drooling, etc) so I know that won't last. Plus my son rolled over in bed and poor guy scared himself!.
I will miss these days...it is so easy now...that they are not yet mobile!
they smile ALL the time and I swear, never cry (except when we boarded the plan...yikes, such nasty looks from people! Not a peep after boarding, though, very good travelers)

Finally cut my college student who I had come at Her convenience, not Mine...I look forward to only having sitters when I want THEM, not when They feel like working...geesh. maybe I'll sing a diff tune when the babies are mobile, but I love caring for them now and hate leaving them...

OK..gotta go. 3.5 weeks with family and I miss them...at the beach...sigh. babies were adored!
