Kids and Medicine

Post by hrobinson »

HELP!!!! I have a three year old who refuses to take medicine. She was diagnosed with UTI this past week and put on meds immediately. I tried to get her to drink it to no avail. So, we disguised it....put it in her juice. She could taste it and just gagged and cried. So, we tried it in applesauce...nope, same thing.
finally I called and got it in pill form. We crushed it up and put it in her cottage cheese....she could taste it and wouldn't eat it. Tried it again in apple juice...same thing.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Due to the holiday, the dr. office is closed until Tuesday and I just don't think we can wait unitl then. Am hoping they can just give her a shot if needed.

NO, my dd never sees me put the medicine in. She doesn't know that she is still taking it.
We got a few pills down this weekend...hopefully things will get better.
Thanks for your quick response.
