WOOHOO!!! My beta was 51.8!!!:D:D:D My doctor was the one who called me and said that was an excellent number considering I tested early!! I am so excited, but still a little hesitant in case of miscarriage. He told me there is a 17% chance of miscarriage.

I just have to take it easy and relax. :):) I go back in on Tuesday for follow up beta number.

Hope everyone else is having a great day. Thank you guys so much for the support. I will try to keep up with you when I am on vacation. I don't know if I will be able to reply as I will be using my phone to read the messages.

turtles - Congratulations!!!! Hope your next beta goes well too.

Shellbell, Bell-02, and Kate - I'm so sorry. I know how disappointing the BFNs are. Kate, I can surely relate as we only have a few more shots left too.

My ET went swimmingly this morning. They thawed 3 6-cell and 4 4-cell embies (I thought they were all 4 cell). As of ET there were 2 that were still 4-cell (essentially dead) and one that was an irregular 6-cell. However, we also had 2 10++ cell compacted embies and one 10 cell that was also starting to compact. This is better than the cycle where I had a BFP! So we transferred those 3 and are trying to be cautiously optimistic.

My beta is on 9/15.

So very very HAPPY for you!

Renee - This is my first IVF cycle too. I actually have heard that FET has lower success rates. At least that is what two of the clinics I've been to have in their stats. A frozen embryo can die when you thaw it. If I were you I would try fresh first.

Renee --

I would ask if frozen is a possibility and then make that call when you get to that point. If you have a lot of good quality embies and you stimmed in a reasonable time (not way too long), then try a fresh cycle first. If you stim too long and there is a worry about missing your receptive window, then freeze them. I would be nervous to freeze two excellent embryos for example, but freezing 10 embryos is another thing. I don't think all clinics are equal when it comes to being better at FET. If you know your clinic is very good with FETs then go for it...

CCRM, San Diego and others are good...but not all.

Kerpupples - CONGRATS on being PUPO.

Renee - I would talk with your RE about the Frozen cycle. I have heard that sometimes frozen is better because your body isn't on all the drugs. I would think the decision would be made on how many eggs you produce and what quality they are. If you don't have a whole lot of eggs that fertilize I would definatly go for fresh because there is no guarantee that your eggs will make it thru the thaw. If you have quite a few eggs then I would think that a FET would be an option. This is your first IVF cycle and they probably don't know how you will react to the stims and how many eggs you will get so I would think they would wait to make a decision after ER.

Turtles- I am so happy for you :D That is a great beta number for testing early. I can't wait to hear how the number is rising

Shellbell, Bell-02 and Kate- I am so sorry that you didn't get the news you wanted. My thoughts are with you and your DH.

Muggsey - Happy Birthday :) I am sorry to hear that you didn't get a BFP when POAS. I am hoping that it is a late implanter and that you will still get a positive on your test.

Toobee- Good Luck on your beta tomorrow. I can't wait to hear the number. Keep my fingers crossed for a BFP

Valerie - Those all seem like really good symptoms. :) I am so sure you will be getting a BFP. When are you testing? You had your transfer the day after me I believe. Mine was Thurs. Can't wait to hear your results. Maybe you will even be having more than one :)

Lynnie - I hope your eggies are growing Strong strong strong. When is your ER set for. Lots of baby dust.

As for me I am feeling a little happier than yesterday. I had AF type cramps. My friend at work thinks that it could be a sign of pregnancy. Since my period would be due 2 weeks after the ER, I wouldn't get it until Sat. So I am guessing I wouldn't have AF cramps 3 days in advance. Plus, it only lasted for a little while and then went away. Has anyone else had AF cramps and gotten a BFP? My manager brought her new baby, 2 weeks, into work today and he was so cute. I really hope I get one :)

Hugs to all.

Hello Ladies,

Kate, I am so sorry to hear your news. You never know what life will bring you miracles do happen everyday day. I will be keeping you and DH in my thoughts.

Muggsey, HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Turtles, What fabulous news and what a great BETA so early. I am so so happy for you and DH.

Kerpupples- WTG you are PUPO!!!

Val- How are you doing , holding in there. I am still amazed at how you non POAS'ers can hold out. Well it will soon be BETA time.

Toobee- How long til BETA? Has to be coming up soon.

Lynnie- I know I have read some ladies have 25mm follies int he lead. I think you 21mm will be just perfect. I suspect I will have a big one to that we will just let grow. They are just going to be the plumpest happiest eggs.

Renee- I agree with al the other ladies. I think you really have to see what fertilized embies you are working with to decide on FET's. Whatever you chose it will be the right decision ))))

I hope everyone else is doing well. I have the darndest time keeping up with everyone.

I had my u/s and b/w today it is day 7 of stims. Things are looking good at least much better then last time. I have a 16, 15, and 7 between 11 and 14 and a beautiful 12.5 mm triple stripe lining YAY. My e2 went to 788 I hope that is a big enough jump in one day. I just feel so much more relaxed this time around. Maybe it is because I have already done it once.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Beta numbers

Post by smiles2IVF »

Hello everyone....This is my first IVF- so I have lots of questions about Beta numbers---I had my ET on 8-20-08 I just did my first Beta test today 9-3-08... day 14 it was 380...That seems high to me only being day 14...The Dr said anything over 100 is good....But I'm almost 4 times that---Should I worry.. Does anyone think it could be twins? Thank you all for your support....
