Hi me again

Sue E i jus saw that you did FET 2nd time around. Did you go for a natural or medicated cycle? I am a bit confused abpout which way to go at the moment. DR has suggested natural as i am regular and it is DH who is the fertility factor. What was your experience with FET, sorry oif this is a bit personal but am feeling a little lost as the ICSI process was so dictated and natural is a tad more wishy washy :?

Hi all!

How's everyone doing? Enjoying the summer at last? (well, for those of us here in England I use the term loosely! At the moment I take sunhat, suncream, shorts, raincoat and umbrella with me when I go out!!)

Saraid - so great to hear from you! Sounds like Arabella is doing great! And it's nice to know I'm not the only one who's little one makes people thinks I'm an alcoholic!

With regards to the FET, Charlie was also the result of a natural FET cycle. Have to say I was VERY sceptical. I couldn't understand how if a fully medicated, closely monitered cycle could result in a BFN then how on earth would this? BUT I've heard that the fact it's natural can actually assist as you're body is in it's natural state, none of your hormones have been tampered with etc. And in my case it produced my little chatterbox!

The FET at my clinic is fairly "wishy washy!!" as you say. You go in for 1 scan on day 14 (I think!) and then have to do ovulation tests until it's positive. (Word of advise - I could not read those blooming things and ended up ditching the ones I had and buying digital ones! They were a lot clearer!). after ovulation was confirmed I spoke to the clinic again and arranged a date for transfer. I can't remember exactly how many days after though? That morning they defrosted the embryos, called to say ok and in I went for transfer. You know the rest of the drill!!!!.........

Anyhow, if you do have frosties I think it's worth a shot - lot less stressful than a fresh cycle! Let us know how you get on!!!

To everyone else - have a fab day! Off to tackle the shops!!!

Saraid- Mine was also an unmedicated cycle and so easy!!! The hardest part is waiting to hear if your frosties thaw well. All 3 of mine survived and they put the best 2 back in.

My cycle was near enough the same as Cla's, Except I didnt have the scan, i just had to test for ovulation and again i went for the digital tests SO easy, rung clinic and 2 days later (i think) had my frosties transferred. Then just the messy pessaries and i took a low dose aspirin (of my own accord). My problem is blocked/damaged tubes. I think if your cycle is more regular and not unexplained fertility, i think they tend to go with the natural, me personally i would recommend it. It just seems too natural to work after going through the full ivf.

Hi everyone, I went back to work yesterday and this morning im awake a 3am hence my post. I must go back to bed as ive got to get up in 2 hours. Only 4 days until our holiday, yippee. Hope everyone is going to have a nice break at some point during our so called summer.

lots of love

Hi guys,

Cla and Sue - a big thankyou! Hearing your tales has made me feel so much more positive about a natural cycle. It seems so weird to coupes who have not been through IVF that it is difficult to have faith in your own body. I have started my folic acid and omega-3 so now just need to cut out the wine with dinner  and get my body and mind ready.

Hubbie has just come back in from mowing the lawn for the 2nd time this week so shoudl spend a bit of "quality" time

LOL

Hi everyone! I haven't posted in so long and I can hardly believe it. So many times I look at our thread and read the new posts, but I don't stop and take the time to post. Why is that? ARGH! So this time I made myself.

The end of July seems so near, which means I'll have just 2 more months until my boys turn 2. WOW! They are finally saying 5 different words, but that's it. We are enjoying the warm summer weather & are outdoors most of the day.

Oh, Saraid, so good to hear from you! I think about a lot of the ladies that haven't posted in ages and wonder how they are doing too.

My photography business is really doing well and I just love it. It's such a great hobby/challenge for me as a stay at home mom.

Anyway, have a great day to everyone!

Hi again,

good to hear that your photography business is going well KrisiA, you have posted some really lovely ones of your little guys.

It is mad to think our little ones are coming up to 2, Jess is a right handful at the minute, as she thinks she is so big and independant, can't wait until she is 3!!!! and that stage has passed. I must admit she is so funny in some of the things she does, its so hard not to laugh!!!!

How is everyone? We came back from Mallorca at the weekend, had a nice week, the hotel was great with lots going on for the children. Jess loved the mini discos and would be up on stage with the best of them.

take care

lots of love

Hi all!

Great to hear you had a fab time on hols Sue. The piccies on photobucket are fantastic!!!
Make sure I go onto your blog when I can Kristi - I love the videos of the boys - they are SO cute! Can I ask - now that (I can't remember if it's Brady or Tyler!) can climb out of the cot have you moved them to proper beds? Charlie learnt how to do it yesterday and proceeded to climb out at 5am this morning to wake us! Was hoping not to have to move to a bed so soon but I worry that he'll hurt himself - the cots already at the lowest setting!
Saraid - did you decide about the FET yet? When do you start??
Mel - How's things going with you guys?
Tracii - I think you'll still be in the States - hope you're having a fab time!
Madiva - How are you and your little man?

Everyone else - any updates??????!!!!!!!!!

Have just posted a piccie I took of Charlie at the weekend. Very cheesy grin!!!!! He's fab at the moment - like a little sponge! He soaks up EVERYTHING we say and repeats it all! A lot of words sound very similar (and it helps if he's actually pointing at something as he says it!) but mainly we can understand him! He's getting better at stringing words together too although if there's too many they get a bit muddled up! Also doesn't actually say most words properly (for instance - towel is "bowel". He struggles with T so I tried to emphasise it. All this resulted in was him calling it a t,t,t,t,t,t bowel!!!!! Tunnel is "nunnel" and Grandad is GraGra!!! Funny though!!! Don't you just love 'em!!!!

Right - am off to do some work!!!!

Hi all,

In answer Cla - YES!!! I have just started the digital tests on my trial cycle for natural FET. It still seem sslightly surreal that i will be putting back those frosties next month - fingers crossed. I have got my brain back where it was nearly 3 years ago. God it seems a lifetime ago.

Oops, i have just seen the time - 12.30pm and still i my jammies! What a slut. I get stuck into the computer and housework and completely forget about getting ready for the day. Arabella will be awake again in half an hour so better be washed before that.

I hope you are all well and thst we eventually get some sunshine in our so called English summer.

Hi All -
So glad to hear about how all of you are doing. I love all of the stories about potty training, talking, vacations, FETs, etc. Mel, I am very sorry to read about your m/c. I hope you are doing ok!

So, I just have to vent here a little... feel free to stop reading! Recently DH and I have been discussing doing an FET (we have 5 frosties). I'm really excited about it, but inwardly dreading all of the appts, meds etc. I would have to do a medicated cycle, since I don't have regular cycles. Anyway, my emotions have been on a rollercoaster thinking about all of this. Sooooo... this weekend my SIL announces she's pregnant, followed by "we really tried for a long time... 6 months" Aaarrggghhhh! Then my MIL (who is the most WONDERFUL MIL in the world) says how she had been feeling so bad for them lately cuz she knew how long and hard they had been trying. HELLO!!!! Um... are you f#$%ing kidding me?!?! They all knew what we had been through and I just want to kill them. Are they seriously trying to say that 6 months of trying comapres to years of treatments, surgery, thousands of dollars, and multiple failures? So, I don't even really feel happy for them right now. The worse part is that she babysits Hendricks (she is really wonderful with kids and will be an awesome mom!) and I see her all the time. I feel so fake trying to seem excited and happy. Really I'm just jealous and annoyed.

Ok, so there's my vent. Thanks for listening (reading) :)

Hendricks is doing great. We go to the pool and playground all the time. He just loves it. Everyday is someting new with him... a new word, a new thing he can do.. it is so fun to watch him grow and learn.

I hope all of you are doing well.

Hi all!

Just about to leave work but wanted to say - good luck Saraid with the FET! Keep us posted - we'll cheer you on from cyberspace!!!

And Julie - you rant ALL you want! Yes, 6 months is FAR worse than years of IVF - appts, scans, sniffing, injections, is just a breeze of course! (yes, sarcasm may be the lowest form of wit but I am a Brit so can't help myself!!!). Also keep us updated if you do decide to do an FET - how exciting!

Anyhow - enjoy the rest of your day all. Off to watch all the medals team GB have won today - I'm addicted!!!

Afternoon!

So pleased your photography business is doing well Kristia. The boys sound like great fun.

JUlie - vent all you want. people can be very insensitive without even realising. I have concluded tha the majority only think about how life impacts on them and not how their on lives can impact on others.

Just back from a w/end camping with a huge group of friends on a mates farm. Pissed with rain all w/end but brilliant fun had by all - especially the kids. Chuck them in wellies and waterproofs, sit back and watch the carnage. Arabella loved it! at one stage she was swimming in the puddles

I am about to embark on my actual FET cycle this month so cross everthing girls. I should be on day one this w/end. My clinic will do a scan first. Last month there were 2 follicles and my blood count came back at 38 7 days after surge. Now those frosties have just got to survive the defrost and away we go.

LOL

Hi all!

Just thought I'd push us back up to the top!!!! Not much time today (when is there!) but wanted to say hi!

Off to Severn Valley Railway at the weekend as they have their annual Thomas the Tank Engine weekend. Can't wait - Charlie will be made up as Thomas is one of his favourites! Obviously haven't told him about it (would hear of nothing else for the next few days!) but am v. excited! How strange - a few years ago I'd have got excited about a night out or a holiday - not going for a ride on Thomas!!!!!!!

Hope all is well!

I haven't written in ages. And you want to know what's worse! I haven't checked this site in awhile either. It just hit me like a ton of bricks tonight. And sort of made me sad. I used to check this several times a day before and during the pregnancy....then eventually down to once a day....then once every couple of days....and now it's been a couple of weeks! Sorry!!

Anyway, sounds like a few of you are working hard on having another little one! Very exciting (although we all know how difficult it can be)! Keep us posted!

I guess my boys are the oldest of our bunch (since I had them early at 33 weeks). So I'm the first to say "holy crap, my babies are turning two THIS month"! AAAHHH!!!!! I don't like it at all. :)

We're doing good. Keeping busy. Boys are great. They are saying about 8 words now, but that's it. Tyler is having surgery in two weeks to correct a couple of things with his private parts. It functions fine, but cosmetically needed some fixing.

Hope you are all doing well!!

Hi all,

Good to hear from you again KristiA, it is amazing how time flies. I was only thinking of your little ones the other day and wondering if they were 2 yet, as i knew they were the 1st of the bunch. Poor tyler, having surger. My little brother when he was about 2 had to have surgery on the same area and alls that i can remember was him being proud as punch, pulling his pyjamas bottoms down, showing everyone his bandage on his winkie!!!!

We put Jess in a toddler bed over a week ago and are still having problems, i didnt realise how hard the change would be!!!! We have got the crying down from about 3 hours to less than a hour now. But she still refuses to sleep in the bed and instead sleeps next to the safety gate on the floor!!!! She will lie in the bed if we stay in the room with her but as soon as we get up to leave, shes out of it. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how long did it last?

Cla- hope you and Charlie have a fab time with Thomas.

Saraid - good look with your fet

Melp- How are you?

Julie - Hoping things are ok with you, feel free to rant here anytime.

must dash

speak soon

love

Hi everyone

Well am now on the 2ww! FET transfer today, now lying wiht my feet iup and DH running around after Arabella. Heaven.

Still have Arabella in her cot but will need to think about a bed soonish. Did nt even contemplate them having an issue when you swap them over. Do you think she is missing the bars? Sounds like a strange thin to miss but if she sleeps next to the stairgate it might be.

Better go,DH asking questions about what to cook for her supper
