Question for Ghost

Post by ava »

If you were the one choosing a center would you go with SG or CCRM? I am so up in the air. I'm in Florida and have no centers near me so I have to travel to be with a good center and just wanted your opinion. And if not CCRM or SG would you choose another place? My husband and I are going to apply for a shared risk but not sure if we will be accepted so if not we will have to pay out of pocket since we have no insurance so we want to make sure we are picking a center that will give us a great chance.

Ava, excuse my ignorance but what is SG or CCRM? I'm in Florida and i too didn't have a clinic where I live, I had to drive out of town to see my RE. Also what is a shared risk? I have health insurance it just doesn't cover IVF. Thanks for sharing.

Hi floridagirl- I sent you a pm as well as this reply. CCRM and SG are abbreviations for fertility centers. CCRM is colorado center for reproductive medicine and SG is Shady Grove which has offices thru out washington, maryland, deleware.

I use one of the top ranked centers in the US. The ARTS Dept at Presbyterian Hospital in Plano Texas...just North of Dallas. I use Dr. Brian Barnet and it seems he gets just about everyone pregnant. I had a different RE for the 1st 2 cycles and they were both BFN, then we went to Barnett and he got us pregnant 1st try. We had a miscarriage but not his fault...baby was sick. We are doing our 2nd transfer tomorrow and I have faith he will get us pregnant again and for good this time. My response the 1st 2 cycles was poor, barely making it to a 3 day transfer and with Barnett we have had great cycles...both 5 day transfers!!! Also we have a bunch more eggs!

Good Luck and if you need more please feel free to PM me anytime!!!

Hi smattison! I was wondering if you could tell me the different protocols you've used over your cycles. Specifically, I'd like to know what you did for the first two that were different from the two more successful cycles. Can you share? Thanks!
