Hello ladies,
This is my first IVF, just got the fertilization report, of 15 eggs retrieved, 10 made it to Embryos, 9 were ICSI'd. My doctor is recommendating day 5 transfer. (Wednesday)
So I just want to get some non scientific poll here to know how many parents are out there with the above similar treatment and were able to get pregnant and give birth to a healthy baby!!!
Should I be worried about "problems" associated with ICSI or assisted hatching??
thanks for your support! I'm going to call tomorrow (day 3) to see how the embryos are doing! How many made it so far.. etc.. Still feeling very bloated!! when will it going away??! And my butt is sore of course from the progesterone shots. I'm all messed up! lol.
I had 2 eggs transferred with ICSI and Assisted Hatching and they did a 6 day blast transfer because I had so many that were still doing good on day 5 so my doc wanted to wait one moe day to see if all continued to strive and we lost a few that night so that was a good idea because on of those could have been one that they transferred and not survive since hey didn't survive on night 5.
I got pregnant on my first try with this and will be delivering my little girl next Friday (September 19th). I have taken all test for adnormalties and downs and all have been negative and she is supposed to be healthy as a bean.
Me, 40 - DH, 47
IVF #1: POSITIVE - Michaela born 9/19/08
IVF #2: Consult on 10/13/09 - Start BCP Dec since clinic will be closed for the Holiday.

I had 7 eggs, 5 embryos on day 3, and 4 blasts on day 5. Also, had Assisted Hatching and ICSI. I'm 34 weeks pregnant today with a little girl who has passed all the screening tests and appears to be healthy!
I hear people asking on here from time to time about how AH and ICSI might affect development but I've never heard anyone say that it actually did. I've also never seen any research that these methods are risky at all. If someone else has seen something like that I'd be interested in reading it.
Good luck! Congrats on all the wonderful embryos and blasts!
THanks for all the GOOD and positive News.. Congrats to all that are PREGNANT! I can't wait to join in the fun! We transferred 2 very good Embryos Wed (day5). Of the 10 that fertilizated, 5 made it to day 5, but 2 really looked good I was told.. My dr didn't give me an official grade tho.
So, I'm just wishing and praying and hoping!!! Any tips on what to do or what not to do in the 2WW??
Good luck newtoivfgirl. We transferred one good embryo on day 5 and I'm now 22 weeks PG! Re: 2ww, try to keep yourself occupied so it's not the only thing you're thinking about otherwise it will drive you crazy! (Probably will anyway) Don't do anything too active, or you'll blame yourself if it doesn't work. Eat healthily and take folic acid! No hot baths.
I suggest not getting too tempted to take early tests at home as you may get false positives or negatives which will make you disappointed /excited without actually knowing the real answer - I managed to wait it out (and mine was a 16 day wait) and when the result came back, it was a definite answer.
Just want to update everyone! IT's a BFP!!!!!! first beta last Friday was 71 or 72. I'm going back this Friday, hoping the # will climbing a lot and the little guy is "sticking" to me..lol..
I'm cautiously optimistic but worry as well.
