NY4thtry,
We communicated on other threads but I wanted to follow up and see how you are doing with your Dr. search.

I have a follow-up with my Cornell doc on Wed to discuss what he thinks of the first round and the next step(s). I also made a consult appt at SIRM for next week. (just to refresh, I can get pregnant but keep m/c and it may be due to chromosomal abnormalities/ egg quality). I just think that SIRM may better serve my issues due to my age (39 now) and history.

How was your consult with Dr. Toth? Would you do CGH at SIRM? Thanks so much for sharing.

ny4thtry:

thanks for the happy success story. i go tomorrow for my er at 9:30 a.m. i am so praying for a some good healthy eggs tomorrow. this is my last ivf try....

my question to all: how do these celebs get pregnant so quickly with healthy little babies over the age of 40? you never hear about miscarriages or chromosomal disorders. interesting, isn't it?

Gigi,

they go to fertility Drs and APS just like the rest of us... i just found out yesterday that Sara Jessica Parker went to NY fertility institute (my first clinic) for her first and hasnt been able to have a second..

Good luck on your ER

Chenry

I have not decided yet.. waiting for the immunological tests to come back hopefully today.. i may do another round at Cornell as Zev Rosenwaks himself has now gotten involved in my case. That is as long as there is nothing glaring in the immunological results that requires different medication (Cornell doesnt believe on the immune stuff)
Dr Toth was interesting.. he proposes a radical 10 day treatment of IV antibiotics combined with intrauterine lavages..intuitively it makes sense to me but my obgyn and DH are not for it so i dont think i will be doing it.
Good luck at your SIRM consult.. it does seem to e that they are a bit ahead on the testing. let me know what you think.

PMA= positive mental attitude.. good luck at your transfer sending sticky vibes your way.. oh and they say eating pineapple .. particularly the core is good for implantation.

Embies made it to 8 and 6 cells and were grade 1. I was so relieved. Transfered at 9 am! I will try to keep my current PMA going!

I have a good friend at NYU who is going to get me some feedback about SIRM. I'll keep you updated. I'm not sure I believe in the immune stuff but I am intersted in hearing about CGH and staggered IVF. I get the feeling the challenge is to actually get an embryo not only to pass CGH, but to survive freezing and thawing.

Is Dr. Rosenwaks proposing any changes/additions from your past IVFs? Just curious if he had any new ideas.

It really only takes one day to do PGD so I might ask my Dr. if they ever consider day 4 transfers. I'm not even sure if it would help.

congrats you are now officially in the 2ww.

I think there is something to the immunological stuff my obgyn said he has seen women only able to get pregnant using ivig for example.

Rosenwaks wants me to use the same protocal as my last cycle but they may do some other things i dont think i will really know til i start again.

lynniecat - congrat's on the transfer - you're officially pupo! enjoy and good luck.

NY4thtry - when do you get your immune tests back? Good luck - hope you can get some answers soon.

gigi - i agree with ny4thtry - I think so many of these celebs do seek assistance from the REs, and some actually have come out in the open about it, but many don't.

I wanted to know if anyone had heard much about the use of human growth hormone. My RE has suggested we try it during my next stim cycle - supposedly it will help improve egg quality. It was the first I'd heard of it, so I would be curious if any of you have tried it and/or talked with your REs about it. My RE said his group has been using it for the last 9 months with good success with women with age-related infertility, good responders and otherwise no other issues, so I think we're going to try it. Hopefully, if all goes well, I'll start bcp's with my next period.
