How did your scan go???

So sorry I did not post eariler, been v busy with work ect.....
How many sheet of bog roll then.....I'm just going to measure so wait a mo....!!!!!

Ok it's 9 sheets of Charmin...which I measured against Andrex and it's the same size, but I am all out front I have not put on much weight despite half of ton of cadburys creams eggs

My neighbour had a Baby Boy at the weekend 8lb 8 first baby called him Harvey, hes soooooo cute can't wait to have mine.

I have bought everything except a moniter, I'm the impaitent one remember the one who checks christmas pressy before hand...ect althought I have not bought many clothes, just cot, crib, car seat ,pram ,highchair ,bouncy chair ,baby bojorn ,sterliser, even though I will try to B/F our spare room looks like the store room at Mothercare.
But I thought while I'm still working and earning I would buy it now so it wont be a shock when I give up work.......that's my theory anyway :? :?

Anyway I await your news on the Bubs and hope all is well.
Take care

Hi Wibbs

Thank you for thinking about me. I did post somewhere about it, but just so you know all seems to be going ok. Both are fine and growing at the same rate - they are both exactly the same!! They measured the same size as a singleton at 24wks 1 day - I'm not 24 weeks until tomorow, so they are doing well.

They have moved too. They are no longer in bunk beds (transverse) they are now both head down, one on each side. Which would be great news except, the wretched placenta is still causing problems! Its in the way and still blocking the exit. They think it might even have joined together and become one huge one - its v.unlikely it will move.

this in itself is not a problem. I'm ok about a c/s now. However, my consultant told me if I was planning maternity leave it should begin straight away because its essential I rest between now and 32 weeks and do as little as possible (what joy!!).

They are worried I'll start bleeding and this could indicate I'm in premature labour.......I'll be whisked in to hospital and made to stay there until they are born. If this isn't incentive enough (not that I needed any!) to sit on my @rse all day then nothing is!

Guess what arrived last night - my bugaboos!!! I spent all night putting one of them together. Dh was out watching football (leeds actually won - hurrah! I don't go and they bloody win - I've sat in the freezing cold all season waiting to see them score and last night they score 4!!). Dh was v.jealous that they arrived early and I got to play with them without him!!

So I now have a pram in my living room - how exciting. I was tempted to get one of my niece's dolls and take it for a walk, but I managed to stop myself. I've been walking around the house pushing the pushchair and Jeremy keeps following me walking besides the pram - we are both practising!!!

I'm very impressed with your shopping too! Same as me - everything bought and organised and a room that resembles Mothercare! I'm glad I started when I did - apart from anything its all paid for so you don't have to worry about paying for it all later. Its so expensive! (doubly for us, cos we have TWO of everything!) Our local nursery store gives 5% twin discount which would have been handy except we'd done most of our shopping in John Lewis!!

I measured myself last night, I'm 9.5 sheets of Kleenex Double Velvet! Like you mine is all at the front. I've still managed to put on 2 stone. I went to M&S to get remeasured for more bras and she asked me when my baby was due and I said 'two' meaning two babies and she said oh in two weeks! I was like, erm no, I've got another three months left yet! She just looked at me as if to say, I don't think so!!!

How do you feel? Are you starting to get tired yet? I've been finding sleeping more and more difficult now. Can't get comfortable even with all the big fat maternity pillows everywhere. I get really dehydrated and toss and turn all night. I'm so glad its not the summer, can you imagine, it would be even worse!!!! (sorry to all of you reading this who wil be v.pg in the summer!)

Any stretch marks yet? I keep piling on the potions in the hope they won't appear! I tell you what did happen yesterday - I had leaky nipples - YUK!!!! As if. It was so gross, I was nearly sick. Perleaseeeeee!

Right enough revelations from me! Have you heard from Val? Where is she? I will email her.

Take good care of yourself.

Nik
I think there is a name for people who play with things while their husbands are out at footie - glad they arrived - how very exciting.
Is the double velvet different to Andrex - cos I am now 8 sheets or was the other day (keep thinking I have shrunk back to 7!!!) but seems not many without being rude for you - unless my middle was bigger to start with - colitis etc
Take care

Tracey - don't go blaming 'middle-aged spread' on colitis!!! I didn't think there was much difference between one sheet of toilet paper either, but I guess its probably about 12cm (I don't know how many inches that is for you being an 'old' school person!!) This seems like enough to me!

You'll be able to see for yourself next week! I'd be happy if I stayed this size until the end. Got v.bad back ache and swollen ankles today. .....from yesterday's shopping spree!

Good news for the day is that I have a dog walker. Yippppeeeeeee............ Hopefully she'll be able to start next week. So I can really start to put my feet up and take it easy. Hurrah.

Hi Nikola

Glad you scan went great.

Can i ask how you measure with the toilet roll is it all the way round your belly or is it over the bump because you all seem small too me i was 9 sheets of andrex about a month ago all the way around. Can not fit into most of my clothes.

I'll give you middle age spread madam - remarks like that and you won't make it to middle age.
I have shrunk down to 7.5 again today so have bump complex again especially after reading yours Helen about 9 sheets of Andrex a month ago. Does it depend on what time of day - first thing in the morning can be smaller than last thing at night - how sad am I? or perhaps I am shrinking - has something happened to one do you think? See you have set me off again!
Also I guess the bump moves and moves up or across etc so can vary and some people maybe are smaller boned or larger to start?
Yikes

Tracey will you listen to yourself! Nothing has happened to your babies, they are both inside and growing nicely (as you will see on the scan in two weeks time!!)

As for the toilet roll, I don't think its really very accurate (it was supposed to be fun - not send you off into one!!!) I was 8 sheets when I was about 8 weeks pg and I'm only 9.5 now at 24 weeks but I can assure you I am nearly two heavier than I was when I was 8 weeks!

Maybe we should measure from the pubic bone to the top of your bump (where your bra strap goes). This might be better......but then I guess if you carry the bab(ies) in a different position this will make you seem smaller than you are......

Perhaps Dr Marcus could add a page to the whizzy new website and we could post pictures of our bumps! Now that would be fun.....

TS I'll show you mine next weekend!!!

Besides, soon you'll start feeling them move and then it doesn't matter how big your tummy is, you'll be reassured cos you'll feel them moving every day - either that or you'll convince yourself you have lots of wind!!

you are absolutely right of course - as usual so have decided to not bother with the Andrex for a while apart from wiping myself!
Can't wait to see yours and do like the new spelling of your name Nikolla - very classy - I get carried away trying to type and catch up with Shell (she is out by the way watch out!) and spell my name tracye and have to go back incase you all think I am a plonker.

I didn't even know I'd done it! I often bash out messages in seconds and dont' have time to go back and make sure I've spelt things properly - you must all think I'm dyslexic half the time!

Please continue to treat yourself to the odd bit of Andrex - especially for No.2s otherwise could get a little messy!!

I saw Shells post (and replied - of course!) She'll have her hands full, plenty of time to catch up!!! hee hee.

btw - I just looked on e/b and the mb is bidding with 2 hours left and the price is up to £330. This means that when we need to sell ours we could end up making money!!!

I spoke to John Lewis and they have agreed to price match Kiddicare and deliver it to me. Also they've said they'll send me my Gliding Chair and Stool early - I need it, I've got terrible back ache!!

will John Lewis always match kiddicare or is it because you bought so much - what colour are you getting? I have decided def want the MB - told DH last night - think I need to get earning - oops! I still reckon they are the best ones.
WEnt on to the J LEwis web site and they did not have the electric breast pump in the AVENT on there but you got yours there didn't you? Have a John Lewis in Nottingham so might pop in.
Glad you are finally getting the rocker/glider - will it be there when we are?

hi TS

The JL website is rubbish compared to the shop! They don't stock the MB but they have ordered it specially for me - in Navy, same as the Bugaboos - its so I can use the footmuff/sleeping blankets in both (at £70 each, I'm buggered if I'm buying 4!!!)

JL have a price match policy so if you find anything cheaper anywhere else they match it. When we were doing a 'big spree' dh told them that the Phillips monitor normally £139 was only £80 in Costco and they gave it to us for £80.

I'm very excited about the chair, I've just paid for it so hopefully it will be delivered in time for you to 'test-drive' it! DH is pleased cos its got special pockets on the side - I was thinking could put the bottle in when feeding - he thinks its to put the remote control in for the tv ....he is in for such a shock!!!

I'm off to check my new cotbeds that we've ordered.......these babies better not be late after all this - I'm so organised after everyone telling me they are coming early, I'll be disappointed if they turn up late!!!

Thanks for that - how exciting the cot beds have arrived - will I be allowed to inspect things - promise won't pinch them =- better do an inventory check just in case...... I noticed the MB does not have it's own muffs etc and sleeping bags so presume I can get others to fit/adapt!
You I see got the Phillips monitor - we were going to get that but ended up with the TOMY one last year - from kiddicare.
I am so pleased for you - remote control in the pocket - who is he kidding - might be better off with some ear pads!

HI TS

I'll be desperate to show you all my exciting goodies! Cotbeds are coming on Sunday - hurrah. We won't have put them together though when you arrive (I don't think!). We need to hide all our pushchairs and stuff cos we've got our two sets of visitors this weekend - neither of which will appreciate a pram at the moment!!

I think it will be bad enough having to be in the company of a v.pg lady! (that is me, in case I confused you with the lady bit....)

The MB doesn't have muffs but its quite well padded and you can use any of the ordinary footmuffs. I think you can even get special inserts for newborns with the little headrests. I might get a couple of those too.

Wow my two are kicking away big time. I think they want me to lie down, I've been rushing around all day!

Don't be posting behind my back, if I go for a rest!

love n.x
