IVF #2 in 2ww - new to msg boards

Post by **ami** »

Hi all - i have read these boards since going though my last IVF attempt last year but never posted.

Thought it was about time I said "Hi"

I'm in the dreaded 2WW 5dp3dt and I must say I'm having a bit of a rough time, very bad cramping and feel like AF is coming , I am trying to stay positive as I've read so many posts where people have had the same and got a BFP. The message board has been so helpful even though I have stayed quiet in the background!!

I would like to wish everyone good luck who's going through treatment
xxxxxx

Hi.

Just want to say not to worry about the AF like pains.
It is perfectly normal.

Even if you have little brown discharge is ok.

I've just been through 2ww and i know how it feels.

Good luck.

AMI,

I am also in the 2ww and 5 dp 3dt. Did you transfer on 9/1? That is when I did. How many embies did you transfer? I feel bloated and crampy also, I am hoping this is a good sign. I just posted a poll to see how soon after a 3dt that you can get a postive hpt. I am think that 6-9 dpt you should be able to see something. I did HPT to make sure trigger shot was out of my system so now I am just waiting.

When is your beta sch?

Hi Brenda3

Yep I transferred 2 embies on the 1st Sept, i'm still feeling crampy and really feels like AF is on it's way :( I'm donating half my eggs to another couple, i had 26 eggs in total!! out the 13 I had 11 that fertilised but they thought it was best not to go to blastocyst - though at ET one of the embies was nearly compacting and at the blastocyst stage. I transferred 1 blastocyst embie last time but unfortunately got a BFN.

Clinic advised not to do a hpt until Monday 15th so I am trying to steer clear from them until that date, although this is proving very difficult.

I'm going to feel a right idiot now but I'm not sure what a beta is?
I've just been told to take a cyclogest pessary morning and night then test on the 15th - this is exactly what I did last time too. Do you go to the clinic to test your beta? I live 4hrs away so I wonder if this is why?

Nice to know we're at exactly the same stage - keep in touch and let me know how you're getting on :)

ami,

a beta is the pregnancy blood test that measures the amount of HCG in your body (if you have any). I did a HPT this morning (yeah I know it is very early to do @ 5 dpt) but it was neg., I just know this cycle has to work. I transfered 5 embies ( Ihave a high miscarriage rate) 4 of which they graded at level 4 (best) and no frag (they said they looked perfect, but we all know perfect ones don't always make it) I am holding my fingers crossed and praying for all of us on the boards to get BFP's.

When at in the UK are you. I place forgein exchange students into host families in the US so I always love hearing about new places.

Gina1234,

I POAS today 9dpt and it was a BFN....so I feel really negative right now. I have NO signs except that my AF is ready to start. This is just another HUGE disappointment for me. According to RE I had 5 PERFECT embies transfered and nothing!!!!! I don't understand.

Best of luck to you, wishing you a BFP on your Beta. I am supposed to go for Beta Friday but I don't think I am going to go.
