Sameera - so sorry to hear about your troubles :( I think that if your OB has recommended to stop work, then you really should do. If you gave birth early whilst you continued to work against Doc's advice, you'd never forgive yourself. I'm sure the lack of benefits would be easier to handle. Can't offer any advice on benefits as it's bound to be totally different to here - Hope your HR department is helpful. It's not long to go, but the situation gets so much better with every week you can keep then cooking, so hang in there and listen to your Doc.

Thinking of you and sending a big e-hug >---O----<

PS
Don't want to detract from Sameera's bad news, but had my scan today - all seems to be OK. We couldn't decide whether to find out the sex, so the radiographer wrote it down and put it in a sealed envelope for us! Now the temptation is a bit much - I'll let you know if we open the envelope!

sameera- Thinking about you today hoping that you are doing ok! Is there a possiblity for doing your work from home? Obviously I would not be able to take my work home (pretty sure that is illegal!). I'm sure your HR dept will be very helpful. I am planning on working until I go into labor or physically can't work. My boss had 2 kids while practicing, so she understands if I need to slow down.
You and your babies are in my prayers everyday! We gotta keep those buns in the oven!!

TinNotts- Hmm, you have some amazing willpower! I wanted to know as soon as they squirted the gel onto my tummy! Do you have a gut feeling as to the sex? Personally, I kinda knew it was a girl for some reason (watch me deliver a boy right?!) and DH too even though he wanted a boy. So will you decorate for unisex? There are plenty of cute things for unisex. What kind of stores do yall have over there for baby stuff? I don't supposed yall have walmart/target/babiesrus?
just curious!

God Bless!

My turn for a crappy day today.

I listened to my baby's heart beat this am and noticed it was irregular. I called my OB office and they were as dismissive and condescending as usual. The nurse actually told me i could come in if I want but the doctor is only going to listen with a doppler. Not helpful, I can do that myself. So I transferred care to a doctor who already knows me (the one who did my gender US while I was working). I really trust her and know she'll treat me well.

Anyhow, long story short....I went in and had a 1 hour detailed US including lots of looking at the heart. They said the heart is structurally normal but the baby has a funky heart beat that comes and goes. They said that this kind of thing usually turns out to be nothing but have referred me to a high risk OB to get his heart checked out properly. Everything else looked completely normal. Oh, except he's huge. He weighs 1 lb 12 oz. I read he should weigh 1-1.5 lbs by 26 weeks. They said he measures 2 weeks ahead and his head measure that of a 26 weeker.....yikes. Anyway, time to cut way back on the junk food, I have eaten enough, don't wanna give him any other problems.

So, I'm much much happier with my new OB and praying that everything is OK with my little boy......will find out more when we meet the perinatologist. Sorry this is all about me but I am so emotionally drained and ready for bed. I cried a lot today. Hope everyone is doing OK.

Nikki - so sorry to hear that you had such a crappy day, but I'm glad that you've managed to get some proper attention from your new OB and that you trust her. As they said - most of the time it turns out to be nothing, so keep thinking positively. Good job you were able to flag up the issue yourself. I'm thinking of you.

Sameera - hope you're feeling a bit better and that your HR department was helpful. Thinking of you too.

Chelly - I have no idea what sex it may be and really don't care - I just want a healthy baby. I'll probably give in to temptation and open the envelope, but right now it's quite exciting not knowing! We'll do unisex. We have Babiesrus, but not the other two - we have loads of other stores so it won't be a problem finding things.

It sounds like your Dr has been lousy to you. Im so sorry!! Just wanted to mention that I saw Dr. Guiffrey, who is an awesome OB...and I am preg with twins and am seeing the Obstetrix group..also amazing peri's...I see Dr Porecco. I had Dr Stetler, too....let me know if I can help in any other way. No one should have to deal with a shitty dr!!!

Hi sarahalf....thanks for stopping by. I just found out I have an appointment with Dr Porecco tomorrow afternoon so I'm glad to hear from someone who has seen him before. I have heard he is amazing. I'm staying hopeful that my baby wil be just fine but definitely ready for an expert opinion. My regular OB doc is Dr Catherine Ryan...she's great, I have worked alongside her and she's just very smart and very thorough.
Did you have your treatment at CCRM??

Wow, I'm away for a week, and the sky has fallen.

Hugs and prayers for Nicalawi and Sameera. Definitely follow what the dr. advises at this point. Its a short term committment for long term gain in growing those babies bigger.

Sameera, educate yourself to what the NICU looks like, then concentrate on not having babies that need to be in there.

Not much new here, just getting back into the routine. Sleep habits still out of whack, tough for working with, but you all know that. Still fighting the chronic diarrhea also, and limiting my diet seems to be helping at least a little.

Hang in there girls, we're almost to the third tri.

sorry girls-

I have been away for couple days!! well, i am officially on bed rest till whenever my OB says so.. my guess is till i have these babies..

well, wednesday night i end up getting lots of contractions ever 10-15 mins apart and we decided to go to L&D and they monitored me for few hours and my OB decided to keep me overnight in the hospital.

They increased my procardia to 20mg every 4 hours and put me on strict bed rest. My work is now aware and we are in process of STD..

so now you guys will see me read/post like crazy lol..but the good thing is my babies are doing well!!

I just want to thank you girls for all your support - hope you guys are doing well and taking good care of yourselves..

Sam, sounds like you're doing the best thing for the babies. I'm sorry you are subjected to bes rest.....its no fun :( I tried a bunch of things to keep me entertained on bed rest last time...even paint by numbers  It all helped the time pass.

Well, I went to see the perinatologist the other day. He agreed that the heart is tructurally normal and the abnormal heart rythmn is most likely benign PAC's which will probably resove themselves without any problem. He said the most important thing is that the baby is still doing great and to pay attention to his movement because if his heart is tressing him he'll stop moving. Of course, NOW I'm obsessing over his movemnet. Not so much today cause I feel him moving a lot but sometimes a long time passes when I don't actually feel his movement....kinda freaks me out, but I worry about everything. Anyway, the news is generally good, the baby measured more than 2 weeks ahead in size for this doc too and everything looks normal.

I hope you all are having a great weekend, Im just contemplating going to babies r us and splashing out on one of those more expensive body pillows....I really need some sleep, I'm pretty desparate. I know we touhed on this subject a while ago but does anyone have one of those more expensive pillows and likes it?

Glad to hear from you both
Sameera - sorry that you have to deal with bed rest, but a woman's gotta do what a woman's gotta do. It'll be worth it in the long run. You could try knitting bootees and a hat - we'll have winter babes! Learn a new language! My friend had bed rest for weeks in hospital and I was in each week with something new to do - paints, tapestry, DVDs etc! Just think how early you'll write your Xmas cards! Hope all stays well and you don't get too miserable. And you can moan to us all you like.

Nikki - glad everything is good with the baby's heart. Don't forget, the baby has periods where it will just be lying there thinking or sleeping quietly, so don't panic all the time if it stops moving! So far I'm sleeping OK, so I haven't needed to try any fancy pillows, though I can't lie on my right when my rib hurts, which is frustrating.

I was talking to my aunt the other day - her friend had her baby at 22 weeks!!!! - it was just 1 lb and 2 oz  ....and now it is a healthy 7-year old. A real miracle baby. Hopefully none of us will have to deal with that!

My baby is moving a bit more now, I can feel bigger movements, though still sometimes unsure if it's just gas! DH can't feel it yet. I'm rather enjoying being PG just now - I feel very proud parading my bump around and seeing people's reaction. I love knowing there's a little person inside!

Take care

Tinnotts.....wow, your aunts friend did have quite the miracle baby! Thats amazing. Every once in a while we hear about these tiny little ones that beat all the odds, such fighters.

I did go and buy the pregnancy pillow yesterday and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! I can't emphasize enough how comfortable I was in bed last night. The one I bought was the Snoogle total body pillow.....oh my gosh......sooooooo comfy. I rate it 5/5!!!!!!

Anyway, 'nough said about that......have a happy day everyone.

hi ladies, sorry i have been MIA for the last few days. We went to go pick up our nursery furniture this past weekend, lets just say if you buy anything that needs to be picked up, you need a truck! I had to ask grandpa to come with us b/c the boxes were so big!
oh, BTW a couple on our street has a 6 week old and they said the chicco travel system is awesome... she said the only cons were the infant seat is a little heavier than others and you can't put it on the top of a shopping cart (which you shouldn't anyway). FYI!

niki- I was thinking about buying the snoogle too, but I have been getting by with one of those body pillows. Does it have support for your belly too? Sometimes when I lay on my back I feel like my belly is heavy and pulling if that makes sense. So you've got a big boy in the oven?? Haha, bigger is better as long as he is healthy! Its reassuring to know that he is ok, does your physical stress or activity have any impact on his arythmia? just wondering.

sameera- sorry to hear about you being on bed rest, but its all for the babies! Do you like to do needlepoint or crochet? I do crochet during my down time at work, I am making baby a blanket to cover her in the car seat during the cool days. You can always PM me when you get bored!

tinnots- have you opened the envelope yet?? i guess you would have told us if you did...wow you have some will power! Isn't it crazy how we can feel every movement, kick or punch, and to us its really strong, but DH can't feel it?? I have to say, I love being PG right now....my mind might change the bigger I get though!

God Bless!

Chelly,
How exciting buying nursery furniture. Thats one of my favourite things to do, organize and set up the baby room. The dresser drawers are already full and organized and I swera this baby has more clothes in his closest than my husband.
I forgot to tell you, the stroller you bought is the same one we have...even the same color. My hubbie liked a green eddie bauer one but it was SO heavy. I convinced him we should get the cortina instead. I love it, I just wish the basket was a little bigger. My favourite thing about it is that it folds to uproght standing which makes life so much easier when you collapse it to put in the back of the car.
The snoogle pillow doesn't have any belly support but I noticed at babies r us you can buy a little wedge for the belly for very little $.

Does anyone else feel like time is just flying now? I feel like one minute I'm saying I'm 22 weeks, then I turn around and almost 25 weeks already. part of me can't wait to have the baby but the other part of me is reluctant to let the pregnancy go....having this little guy inside and moving around is so wonderful, I will be a little sad when its over. :( Oh well, I'll probably too busy to be too sad.

Hey Girls-

Sorry i have been MIA not because I want to but because I had no power for the past 4 days and on top of it being on bed rest with no power it sucks..

I was dying to know how everyone was doing and what not-

Yeah, agreed on time flying that's how it feels for me. I dunno I do enjoy being pregnant but I do really wanna hold both of my babies soon too! I think I have been waiting way long just to see them :)

Chelly - I'm glad to hear you are doing lots of shopping and getting the nursery setup.

I am still getting one of the crib setup and buying car seats and what not ugh - so much to do and so don't have enough time.

no girl i do not how to do crochet and what not lol not that creative.

Nikki - I love the body pillow as well it helps when you are trying to sleep at night.

Tin - I hope you are still holding on to your envelope lol I dunno how you are doing it but if it was me, that envelope would have been opened by now.

Denise - Hope you are doing well :)

alright girls I will talk to you guys later - take care!
