Slow Rising Betas? Any hope? Ghost or Anyone?

Post by heather4312 »

We just under went our first IVF. I was super excited to get my first beta 13dpo or 10dpt of 156. My second beta at 18dpo was only 209. I don't know what to think. My clinic warned me of Miscarriage, etopic, etc, but said not to give up.

Any similar experiences? :?:

Try to be "cautiously optimistic". You are pregnant and your hCG is rising. But a slow rise can signal a problem. Is there a problem? We don't know. Sometimes these work out and sometimes not. But your clinic will keep an eye on it.

I've seen little hiccups in the early hCG values, that still went on to live birth. I wondered if perhaps it signaled the very early loss of a twin (or triplet), while the other embryo continued to develop. No way to know.

:?

Beta number up today to 690. So it almost tripled in 4 days. Not bad right?

RE says I am still low for 21DPO, and at risk for miscarriage.

I keep on PIO and estrogen supplements, and go for Ultrasound on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, lots of positive thoughts and prayers.

Ghost what are your thoughts?

Same as before. Cautiously optimistic.

Yes, low and slow hCG curves are associated with an increased chance of losing the pregnancy, exactly as your doctor said. But it has to be a lot worse than yours before anyone would say the loss was definite. And yours is not all that low and slow, it's just less than the ideal. I've seen worse, much worse, make it to live birth.

:D Just wanted to post an update. We had U/S today at 6 weeks exactly. Saw our little jelly bean, sak, yolk, and even a heart rate of 101bpm.

We are sooo relieved and excited!!
