Hi ladies,

Would it be ok if I joined your thread? I've been thread-less for a while :? . The folks that I first cycled with (which I consider sisters ;) ) are already having their babies. So, I'm hoping to be able to go through this process with other women who recently got pregnant. I tried joining the April thread, but it was hard because the ladies there have a lot going on, and I don't think they have time/space for one more. I certainly hope I can find a home here  My due date is early April, but who knows, it may end up being late March.

Warm regards to everyone.

Hi esperanza,
You are more than welcome to join our board. I have seen your posts in other boards. Like you , we have few more ladies along with me who have their EDD in late march or early april but we all wish it to be in march. :D
How is your journey so far? Have you got over the m/s. Mine has almost subsided. Now since I have cold I do get occasional nausea but other than that everything is fine. This will be my 2nd pg as my last one resulted in miscarriage in 17th week and it was too hard for us. So this time we are scared to death and hope we have a healthy baby in our arms. This board is not so busy as other boards but we do get someone everyday. The ladies are very supportive and nice so welcome again.

Welcome to our forum, Esperanza. I have too seen your posts and have been following your case. I am so happy that you finally pregnant. You had to as you have a such a positive mental attitude. :) welcome welcome!! Any scans in the near future.

Annie - Oh great!! you got to see the little one...its such a wonderful feeling. I am happy that cold and sickness is finally settling down. I also have my share of fears, especially these days when I feel perfectly fine. The flutters are occasional and sometimes there is a pulling pain in the lower abdomen. I hope these are growing pains.

Lit - Glad doc's appointments are going good. Yes, we have such a big responsibility of eating right. From our side, this is the beginning of our motherhood...a huge responsibility!! and in your case, it triples. :)
In rural areas, girls are considered burden as the parents have to spend huge amount of money for their marriages. But in boy's case, he brings the money with the girl. And also, he becomes an earning member when he grows up but a girl has to go to her husbands house. This is the basic reason why girls are considered burden. But thankfully, things have changed a lot especially in the metros and the cities now where with education and exposure and the the everyday economic pressures have made great impact on the family lives of people. Joint families have shrunk into nuclear family and that too with couple opting for just one kid. So times are changing and for good.

babyloves - Well, congrats on the strong heart rate of the baby. This one is surely a baby girl. Sorry to hear abt your sickness and i hope the doc within you is taking good care of the mother and the little one. :) I everyday spend some time on some baby names site. But haven't decided on any name. My DH says...there's a lot of time....so typical of him. Tell me if you have some names figured out. one of the good site is http://babynamesworld.parentsconnect.com. All the best for your NT scan.

alreadyblessed - hope you are doing great!!

Other MARCH-APRIL MOMMAS....MY WISHES FOR YOU...GROW BABIES GROW AND GROW BELLIES GROW!!!

HUGS...

Hello ladies!
Good to be back. Sounds like everyone is doing well. Thank God. Welcome Esperanza. I too am due the beginning of April (the 7th). I wanted to jump on the March board b/c I delivered 3 wks early with both my children, so if all goes well I anticipate that history will repeat itself.

Everything is the same on my end. Still bleeding daily, with episodes of heavy bleeding and cramping. However, I am 10w3d today, and all looks well with the baby. I keep my faith, and thank God every day.

Anyone experiencing dizziness at all? I have nausea on and off, and sometimes feel dizzy. Just wondering. Anyways, glad to hear that everyone is chugging along and doing well. Enjoy your weekend!!

Yay! I'm so glad I joined this thread. Thank you very much for the warm welcome, I truly appreciate it :) I'm glad some of you have read my posts before. I recognize some of you as well, and remember some of your stories. Isn't it amazing how much we grow to care for people in this forum? I really feel like part of my family is here :D

I'm still dealing with m/s..yack! the only reason I put up with them is because they remind me that my little baby is growing inside of me...otherwise I would be cranky all the time. They are nasty! I had a scan this past Tuesday when I saw my midwife for the first time (I REALLY like her, by the way!). The baby is growing, and growing.

AMAZU--We had a miscarriage two years ago, and even though we have accepted it a great deal, I have to say that we are both traumatized by the experience. Every time we go to have a scan, we hold our breaths until we see the heartbeat and the technician tells us "there is our baby...measuring just fine." phew! Like you, I can't wait for this belly to grow and grow and have a sweet little, crying baby in my arms. If you don't mind me asking you (please don't feel obligated to answer to this question), what happened to your first baby? ours just stopped growing at 6 weeks :( On a happier note, we are so happy and hopeful about this pregnancy!!!!

Sonu---so sweet of you to say that about me. THANK YOU!!!! and thank you for taking the time to share with us about India. Happy pregnancy to you too :)

Alreadyblessed--I'm sorry about the bleeding :( AND I'm glad you little one is doing great. My dd is 4/8! we are really close. As you read, I also have nausea everyday. A bit dizzy at times, but not too bad. I was really dizzy when I was taking a higher dose of prometrium. Do you think you're dizzy because you're loosing so much blood? Yes, let's thank God for our precious ones.

Lots of hugs to everyone. I'm glad we are together in this journey.

food intolerance

Post by Literatriz »

Hi all,
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend (I work only mon-fri)!
Wellcome Esperanza (beautiful "username", it means Hope in Spanish, right?). I hope you get more and more good news on every ultrasound.
Alreadyblessed, I was just wondering...I was spotting/bleeding until they leveled my progesterone. Have you had that checked? Of course I am no doctor but...that is what happened. Are you supplementing the iron you loose with this bleeding? I wish things get better and you develop a nice, strong protective sealing very soon!
Amazu, our doctors kinda scared us with the statistics about risks of genetic abnormalities, risks of pre-natal genetic testing, etc...It is not a nice moment in the pregnancy. The worse thing is, the tests and the results happen so late (12 weeks)... at that point, some parents wouldnt' interrupt the pregnancy anyways. In that case, big big problems that would require pre-natal treatment show in the nucal translucency - a noninvasive exam. That is what we are going to do. Have you and DH made up your minds on that?

I am feeling nauseated from waking up to 1 p.m. The worse thing is the food intolerance. I open the fridge and find nothing atractive. DH has been supernice and creative. We visit the supermarked and try to find new things I would eat. What has helped: having a great variety of food readily avaliable for constant munching and eating at 3 am. That way, I am not hungry in the morning (being hungry makes me feel worse). Some things I enjoy: Jell-O with fruit pieces, Waffle sandwiches with vanilla ice cream, pancakes and all kinds of smoothies. Ah, mango juice.
Hope you find interesting foods to entertain the stomach while little ones get whatever they need to grow stronger!
Be well,
Literatriz

Hi all!
Esperanza...wow our due dates are just about the same. Do you have any other children? I was thinking that the dizziness may be coming from the bleeding so the doc drew blood on me on Friday to see if I am becoming anemic. Hopefully not. Hang in there with the morning sickness, you are closing in on the 12 week mark so it should hopefully begin to subside soon.
Literatriz~ I am still on the progesterone injections, and the doctor told me that they would normally have discontinued them by now, but since I am bleeding so much, but the baby is still doing fine, he doesn't want to take me off of it just yet. They drew blood also to check for anemia, and are considering putting me on iron supplements. How are you feeling with those 3 beautiful babies? Wonderful I hope.

Hello to all the other march 2009 ladies. Hope you are all doing well and feeling great!

Hi Ladies,

Alreadyblessed- I am glad that your drs are keeping close eye on you and taking all measures they can. I know it is uncomfortable to bleed so much but as long as the baby is fine and you don't have bad cramps it should be fine. I hope it will stop as soon as you cross the first trimester line and the baby grows more.
Literatriz- We also had the same thought that even if we find something in the NT scan, we won't end the pg so we didn't go last pg but this time we won't take any chance. Even though in the last one they did amniocentesis when things were getting worse and didn't find any chromosomal defect but this time we did the NT scan and as far as the u/s everything looks good but we are waiting for the b/w.
Esperanza- My last pg ended due to subchorionic hemorrhage but we don't know why it happened and I also had fever in the last few days. They did all kind of tests and kept in hospital for a week but even after I delivered the baby, the fever was there and they could give me no reason as there was no infection also. So it is kind of a mystery and thats why we are very scared this time.
Sonu and Babyloves - Thanks for asking abt me. I am feeling much better as I am not coughing that much and I am sleeping undisturbed during the night. This weekend we had some guest at our home and it tired me a lot which is not at all usual for me. My dh was so nice to give me a nice massage without asking and let me rest the whole day. He prepared the meal and took care of cleaning. I think it is helping for me that he is reading the pg book and knows that this is all pg syptoms. :D :D :D

I hope everybody is doing fine. May all our babies grow and grow. I will be 12 weeks this wednesday. :) Hope the rest of the pg goes easy and uneventful.
Annie

Hi Ladies,
The board looks quite silent. Hows everybody doing? I had a good news yesterday from my genetic counselor. She gave me the result and said it is very good. I don't remember the statistics that much but I do remember her saying that it is nine times better than a 20 yrs old. Wow! isn't it? I am relieved. Now I will be going for my 2nd round in my 17th week.
Hope everybody is doing fine. It is getting very cold here so I am taking precaution and staying home pretty much.

Hi AMAZU~ Where do you live that it is getting cold already? I'm in NY, so we are still hanging in the mid 70s. Why did you have to go to a genetic counselor? I had to do that with my first pregnancy when they found a choroid plexus cyst on her brain. Turned out to be nothing thank God, but gave me the scare of my life. This go round since I am 37, I will have to go for an ultrascreen on Oct 1st, then some other tests as the weeks progress to check for downs and other problems that can occur as a result of my old age  Anyway, glad to hear you are doing better than a girl in her 20s!!! YOU GO GIRL!! When is your due date?

As for me, my last episode of "hemmorhaging" was 8 days ago, and I am cautiously optomistic that I may be coming to the end of what I thought would be the never ending bleed. I have another sono on Friday, so I hang on weekly right now. Hope you are all feeling well!

Hi Alreadyblessed,
I think this cold weather is bcoz of the Ike. I live in MO. I don't abt the gen. counselor as they said the final report for the down syndrome and else is given by the gen. counselor. Though I talked to her on phone when she explained abt the statistics. Last time it was done by the drs only. So I think it is this office who does it this way. Thank God you are recovering and feeling better. By the way, I have just replied to your pm.

Hi everyone.
I am just gettin over a horrible summer cold, hadn't had one in a long time...it figures i'd get it during my precious pg. Wondering if all the coughing and sneezing affected the babies? Tried not to take anyting but a few tylenol which was really hard. i'm hoping all will be fine tomm at my NT scan...this is the longest i've gone without seeing them :?

amazu: i'm glad ur genetic tests went well, do you know which ones you had except down's?
already blessed: thank goodness ur bleeding is finally ending! how was ur bloodwork, are you anemic from the bleeding?
literaz: i also plan to have the NT scan...when is ur's? hope ur food aversions are getting better...its funny ive never had a sweet tooth, but have been recently craving chocolate and sweets!
esperanza: ur a welcome addition to the march mommies!
Sonu: thanks for the baby name site...i'm going to check it out. we were planning on a "Z" theme for the twins, but think we'll wait for the sex determining scan to really put ur heads together about names...some of our names have been rejected by my fam :) its cute that ur DH wants a baby girl :D

Hi Babyloves,
How are you feeling now? I am sorry to hear abt your cold. I know how it feels when you can't take med and the head feels heavy with cold and you keep sneezing and coughing. But it is good that you are over it and you shouldn't worry abt it hurting the baby as others must have told you that it is safely covered with the sac. How did your scan go? My NT scan was for down syndrome , triso 13 and 18 and I don't know whether there was anything else becoz she did ask whether there was any genetic disorder in both of our family and we had to fill a paper abt it. But I am glad that all came well. But the next one after 6 weeks will be for structural deformity and heart problem. Did they ask you to come for that too? I have started feeling too much of growing pain in my lower abdomen and it sometimes worries me too.

Hope all the march - april ladies are doing fine!!

Hi Babyloves!
Good luck on you NT scan today. I am sure you are excited to see those babies again! I have another docs appt. tomorrow for my "weekly u/s", and I should find out then if I have become anemic, and of course how my little one is doing. I never had morning sickness with my other pregnancies, but with this one, I have been naucious on and off during the day. No vomiting though. THank God.

Hope everyone is doing well!
