Hi everyone- just got back from my 12 hour trip to Maryland for my RE consult and things went great. I really loved SG and all the people there. Our RE recommended we try a stimulated IUI first before moving onto IVF since our diag is just male factor low motility. Thats good news and would be wonderful if it works. Can things really be that easy....hmmmm we'll see!!! I went for all of my pre-concep bloodwork as did DH so we will cycle October. I'm very excited.

First IUI Oct 08
I too just had my first consult with my RE. Had the exam and bloodwork done. Only bad thing was my thyroid was on the hyper side. They said they would retest on day 3 of my cycle which should be coming very early in October. I hope it's not a problem if I do have a thyroid problem, really don't want to postpone because we're both so excited. We are set up for three cycles of natural IUI before moving onto stimulated IUI. I'm just trying to get everything set with picking up all meds, tests, setting appointments for HSG, picking a midwife or OB, etc. I was a little annoyed because I went to pick up my Ovidrel and the pharmacy said it was not covered. They're calling the dr/insurance on Monday. If they're covering the entire procedure why would they not cover a medicine I need for it? Also, does anyone recommend Rx or generic prenatal vitamins. $70+ for 3 mos of RX where as generic would be $10. Doesn't that seem like a rip-off for a vitamin. I took the Rx for now, but if it's no different than a generic I may switch.
We are doing our first IUI as well but it is stimulated. I will start clomid on day 3 thru day 7 than a shot of bravelle on day 9 and my ovidrel on day 11 if my bloodwork and ultrasound shows me ready for trigger. I'm very excited as well!!!
