Hi Ladies,
Babyloves - How did your NT scan go? I hope you are feeling much better after the cold. Are they calling you for the next 6 weeks later u/s.?

Alreadyblessed - Today is your appt so how did it go? Did they say you are anemic. Have they stopped the shots now that you are not bleeding that much. Let us know.

Sonu - How are you? It seems you have become busy in your life and rarely come to the board. I know there is very little action going on. We are in that phase where we have nothing much to update. So how is your baby doing? Could you feel more movements ?

Esperanza - Hope your m/s subsides soon. Mine subsided around 9thweek but I still have some nausea in the morning when the stomach acid wants to come out. I have started to show little bit but it is like I am having a fat tummy. I haven't gained much weight. In fact whatever I had gained previously was lost due to the cough and cold as I was not eating much and drinking hot water with lime and honey. They say hot water with honey reduces fat. Good to know and will try later to reduce pg fat. :D

Literatriz - Since you work from Mon to Fri, you must be very tired as you have to be awake at 3 am to eat. Last pg I had food aversion but this time I sometimes get the onion smell but that doesn't bother me much. It is good that you can eat the sweet varieties as I don't like them at all and when I had m/s, it was a problem as I had to search for salty food which is not much oily. Mostly I liked the home cooked food which meant I had to prepare something every time to eat. :( Thank god I have crossed that phase and hope you also get over that. But it is good that your dh is pampering you.

Goodluck to all march ladies. Nothing much from my end. Waiting to get some signs of flutter or something to make me realize the baby. The wait is killing me. Wish we could have the baby sooner than 9 whole months.
Annie

Hello my dears, sorry for being MIA :( My mom was here visiting from Venezuela and she left this week, so I was busy with that, and then recovering from being sad to see her leave AND taking time for myself (I hadn't had much of that in a while). In a way I'm happy she left. She's lovely and I ADORE her, but she was here for 3 months and it wasn't all rosy all the time (we had our drama every now and then). I still think her presence helped this cycle be successful because she cooked all that special food I like and pampered me tons. Anyway, I have mixed feelings about her leaving.

Apart from that, my belly is starting to show, and I'm definitely gaining weight, I tried to ware a cute dress yesterday and it didn't fit. Same with my pair of "comfortable" jeans (I could have forced them to fit if I wanted it, but I don't want to push my belly in just to ware a pair of jeans). For people who don't know me, they may think I have a fat belly, but my mom and DH can definitely tell is a pg belly :D We haven't told ANYBODY. Just my mom, my brother and DH (not even my dad back home knows, nor my in laws). We just moved to a different state so people didn't know me before, so they probably can't tell. Morning sickness are getting better, but they're still there, AND I still can't stand to even think about chicken....grrr...it's so bad! I get full pretty quickly when eating and usually feel bloated. Anybody on the same boat?

SONU--how are you doing? We don't have gender selection in Venezuela, but most men want to have a boy as their first born. My DH is hoping with all his heart we are having a girl. He can't wait to have a little girl call him "daddy." hehehehe.

LITERTRIZ--yes, my nick means "hope" in Spanish. It isn't my real name, but since Spanish is my first language, I decided to go with something that represented what I was feeling at the time...HOPE. I don't know what I would do without it.
About the food aversion...here, here! isn't it terrible? sometimes all I want is comfort food: pasta, ice cream, bread with cream cheese, pizza.

ALREADYBLESSED-- no, I don't have any other children. This is my first, although it's my second pregnancy (the first one ended in miscarriage :( ). I'm still taking progesterone in pills once a day. Sunday will be my last day and I can't wait! I think they make me more nauseous. SO, SO, SO glad that the bleeding has stopped. Thank goodness! Let us know about your sonogram.

AMAZU--thank you for responding my question about your last pregnancy. Sorry that happened to you and DH. I'm hopeful that your experience with this one will be completely different :) Great news about the genetic counselor! yay! I don't know if we are doing any of those tests. I know for sure I won't do the amnio (it's a personal choice), but we haven't been advised of any (as far as I'm concerned) yet. Our next appointment is when I'm 14 weeks. I about 3 weeks approx. Thank you for the hot water and honey trick...I will keep it in mind after baby is born ;)

BABYLOVES--I'm glad you're getting over that nasty cold. I had a 3 or 4 days cold during my 4th week and I was so scared. I'm sure your babies are doing just fine.

Sorry for such a long post. Next time it won't be this long. I hope everyone is getting to enjoy this special moment. I'm still scared about miscarriages, but I'm also hopeful and excited about this baby.

Hi ladies!
Glad to hear that everyone is doing well! So, I had my weekly sono today, and the doc is happy to hear that I am only having brownish bleeding (no more red). The blood work came back, and I am not anemic...Thank God! The baby was just chilling out unlike last week when It was moving all around. The heartrate looks great, and the size is right on track. We did see the other sac in which the doctor said there is just "debris". My dh on the way home told me that he wanted to cry b/c it is so sad that we will never know who that would have been. I agreed, but still count my blessings as we have a baby that is alive and growing well, and many women may never experience that.I will be seen again next Friday, and then I have my ultrascreen 4 days later. It's so weird b/c for the past 4 or 5 days I feel like I have m/s in the evenings. I can't seem to eat past 4pm. The good thing is that my weight is remaining stationary!

Esperanza~ Glad to hear you had a nice visit with your mom. I know what you mean, we love them dearly, but in small incriments. You know that in 30 yrs our kids will be saying the same things about us!! When are you going to tell everyone you are pg? I wish I was still trying to squeeze into my jeans. I bypassed them peior to getting pregnant, so I look much farther along than I am. People say "oh when are you due" and I tell them not until April, and that the outer layer is just ice cream. They get this kind of look on their face:? :?

AMAZU~ Hi! I asked my doc today, and the ultra screen that I am going for at 13w is the same as the scan you just went for. Then I have to return for the next exam at 16 weeks. Do you think you are going to have the amnio? I had one before, and it wasn't that bad. Glad you are feeling well. I have finally experienced m/s. No vomiting, but nausea in the evening wher I can't even think about eating. Never had it that bad with my last pregnancies. This one is so different so far. Maybe a boy this time? Who knows.

Anybody planning on finding out the sex of their baby?? Just curious.
1st IVF~DD 2004
2nd IVF~ 2008 BFP
Thank you Lord for this blessing
love and miss you gram and baby b

Hi everyone!
Amazu & alreadyblessed: thanks for the messages...my NT scan went very well...wow the babies have really grown in 3 wks...DH and I were really relieved to see them both as i've been thru that nasty cold...i'm also having some growing pains in the abdomen, and occas fluttering. I'm still not eating like a maniac tho', but not having any nausea either, so i think that's a blessing :).

Have you guys started to look for maternity clothes, baby stuff, yet?
We've made a trip to babies r us to look around, but no purchases yet. I've bought some comfy maternity clothes which are kinda funny to wear :)

Hi all,
Saturday, a sunny morning and some time to check in with you guys. It is being hard to work...I am getting tired in the afternoon. We will have our NT on September 29th. They are worried because my husband is of Jewish heritage - well, the mother is not, so risks of genetic diseases are much lower. Still, we are a bit stressed out about it. We have mixed feelings about knowing the gender of the babies. Anyone willing to leave the surprise for the birth-day?
Amazu, congrats on you nice scan results! Sorry you cant' eat well. Sometimes I whish I could vomit and get better. Nausea stays with me in the morning and sometimes late afternoon. I am blending low-fat plain greek yogurt with salt, olive oil and chives. Sometimes I add white raisings and nuts. It is a very light spread.
Thanks Esperanza for your suggestion of bread with cream cheese. I am eating more of it now. Like you, I can't even think about chicken :) My mom is planning on coming when the babies arrive. She is nice, but the emotional intensity...I am not so thrilled!
Sonu, hope all is well with you! Thanks for the names website. It is great!
Alreadyblessed, I hope you are no longer taking shots. Nice to know you are not anemic: the baby has all he/she needs to grow. Brown is the nicest color for our underpants, isn't it? I hope soon you will wipe yourself without that horrible feeling. That will pass!!!!
Babyloves, it has been three weeks since our last US. As you wrote, we feel like we need the US as a reassurance taht everything is well. I will try visiting some stores, but not for shopping. I want to buy wise - moreover because triplets challenge any budget!
I've been reading about factors impacting birth weight. It seems that low stress and limited physical activity (meaning work) are important factors. So, let's put our feet up, ladies!!!!
Wishing you all a nice weekend,
Literatriz

Hello my dears!

I really don't know what I would do without this website!!! Most of what I think about is my little one growing inside of me, since I don't have many people to talk to about it, I turn to you my friends...nobody can understand me better :) This forum kept me going through the IVF cycles as well. Anyway, must be pregnancy hormones, but I just had the urge to tell you all how much appreciate your stories and support

ALREADYBLESSED: I laughed when I read about the "ice cream out layer" hehehhehe. I have mine as well! all those shots/hormones made me gain a few pounds before getting pregnant too.
About the sex...with our first pregnancy, DH and I decided we wouldn't find out the sex until birth (which by the way my mom doesn't agree with). BUT, after all we've gone through with the miscarriage and 2 failed IVF cycles, dh has sort of changed his mind and now he wants to know ahead of time. I feel like I could go either way, but part of me wants to hold it until birth, that way it will be more exciting. We'll see when the time comes!

BABYLOVES--Glad to hear the babies are ok...hurray! I won't get another ultrasound until week 18 (or so I was told last time), but I'm hoping that we get to have a quick one at hour next visit (14 weeks) just so we can see our precious one and make sure that s/he is growing as it should. I haven't bought maternity cloth per se, but I did get a couple of "loose" blouses, and a comfy dress. Right now, I'm at the stage where I'm just wearing my stretchy cloth. No more jeans, and I already grew out of some of my other cute cloth :? I have a couple of cute onesies, 3 pairs of socks, a tiny little t-shirt from the university where I did my masters, and 3 children's books. I got all of that early this year when I was doing my other IVF cycles, I figured that even when those cycles failed I would become a mother eventually (obviously I was trying to keep a positive attitude...and I just couldn't resist how cute those little outfits where!)

LITERATRIZ--that yogurt blend sounds delicious, I'm going to give it a shot. Yogurt is one of those few things I feel like eating these days. I just cooked my own version of fried rice with lots of veggies...I had such a craving for it! The chicken thing is so weird because I used to eat so much of it before getting pregnant and now....gggghhhhhh..... I knew women weren't lying to me when they shared their pregnancy stories, but going through it yourself is something else

Big hello to AMAZU and anyone else I might have missed.

Hugs all around!

Dear All

I am so sorry for being absent from the forum since a long time now. Although prescribed minimal activity by doc, I got busy with some long pending chores. My wardrobe was one big mess and then book shelves and drawers. All this while I was just dumping things and it required my attention urgently. So as soon as started feeling ok (free from nausea), I begin with arranging my house. In fact it was quite refreshing, I must say resting is the most boring part of pregnancy. Of course I had to take rest and break in between.

All those talking about a long wait for the scan, I fully understand what they are going through. My last scan was in week 12 and now I get to see my baby only in week 17...:( Its when I will have my triple-screen test to check the possibility of down's syndrome. Although we have no history in our family of such cases but then no one got pregnant at my present age too. I am anxious and just pray everything goes right. I am also nt planning to go for amino test.

I also wanted to share something related with our sleeping habits. In my week by week pregnancy guide, this week it was written that one should not lie on her back. It says week 16 is the turning point-do not lie on the back as it puts pressure on the aorta and vena cava?? which can reduce blood flow to your baby. Blood flow fm mother to growing baby supplies the nutrients the fetus needs to develop and to grow. Although reclining in a chair or propped against pillows is OK.

I still do not feel a definite movement and its still a flutter kind of feeling especially when I eat something sweet or drink milk. :) I think it will take couple of weeks more to have that feeling. I am waiting....!!!

babyloves- I am so glad the babies are doing great and that your NT scan went well.

Annie - Hope you are also doing great, not many days when you will be out of the danger trimester.

alreadyblessed-I was so touched when I read abt your DH's sentiments about the other baby. I feel the same for the baby I lost in May...I may meet my angel somewhere in some form. This angel was very special as I got pregnant for the first time in so many years after umpteen number of BFNs.
I am also so happy that your bleeding is receding and turning brown. Must be a great relief.

esperanza - I love your name...in fact ''hope' is the favourite word of any IVFer Thats what hold us through various stages of this roller coaster. I am glad you are also feeling great!! And yes, I agree with you...this site has been my lifeline since I have joined it...no one understands us better than our dear sisters here whom we have never met in person....but they exactly know how we feel mush better than the ppl we live with...sometimes includes DH too. :(

Lit - I get so tired with just one baby inside me...you are doing a commendable job with three. Have you decided on any names yet?

LADIES...END OF FIRST TRIMESTER IS JUST A BLINK AWAY!!! :)

(A REQUEST - pl put tickers in you signatures, its easy to figure out that way.)

Hugs to all....

Hello ladies! :D

sorry I was absent for a while... I hadn't realized it can actually get really busy even when you are staying home!
e.g. our closets seem to be in a wild mess and, as sonu, I have started throwing things away but I still have a long way to go!

our news is very good so far; we had our NT + papp-A test on 2/9 and the results were great! we were speechless during the NT scan, the baby was moving around, arching HER back (yeees... it is probably a girl, the doctor said... ), opening her mouth and moving her arms and legs!
we really don't mind about the baby's sex... but we both wanted to know so as to start dreaming in colour, hahaha!
I can't wait until our next appointment which is scheduled for Monday 29/9!

I gradually stopped taking progesterone and estradiol (last pills were over a week ago) and started taking iron + folic acid and calcium supplements.
I think iron upsets my bowel as one day I have almost diarrhoea  and the next day I am constipated... I'll talk to the doctor though I know this kind of thing happens with iron.
Anybody else with these symptoms? :?:

I am sooooo glad to be in the 2nd trimester... they told me I would feel much much better but I was afraid they were exaggerating... but it's true! I do have more energy than before, my stomach feels fine and I am not dizzy anymore. Oh, and I have not seen any brown/red spotting since week 9 so this is a big relief.

I still can't sleep well every night... sometimes, even if I wake up to go to the bathroom, I can continue my sleep but other times I just stay up from 2-3 in the morning until 6-7! this can be really exhausting... I read somewhere that mother nature is "preparing" us for the late night shows that will follow later on with the newborn  (maybe I should have a word with her to explain that if I don't get enough sleep now, I will be a wreck until the baby comes! )

Anybody else who is spending their nights in front of the tv, unable to go back to sleep? (I like to watch animal channel!)

sonu - I also read that we should be sleeping on our left side, to enhance blood flow to the uterus. I did not know that this pressure you mention on the aorta etc. starts so early! in any case, I am already used to sleeping on my left side (and sometimes on the right, too) so that's fine. I think I am going to get one of those long pillows you can use to sleep on your side - they look comfy.

I am soooo looking forward for the fluttering to begin... I do wonder if I can actually tell what it is when it happens!

Have you started shopping any maternity clothes? so far I have only bought a couple of pants (as it is now impossible for me to wear any of my old clothes...) and some underwear... but I have to admit - when I look at pregnancy clothes, I feel lost! I am not so sure what I need to buy. I guess it will eventually come to me!

Sorry for the really long post... I do hope you are all doing great and feeling well!

Hi Ladies,
Hows everybody? It seems our board has lot of actions in the weekend when I get little busy. Good to read so many posts! I will be in my second trimester from this Wednesday. What abt you ladies?
Sonu, I would surely like to put a ticker but I didn't get successful last time. Can you explain in detail, please?
Alreadyblessed, I am glad that you are not anemic and the baby is doing fine.
Literatriz, You seem to be an innovative cook. I wish you lived nearby then you could have prepared and we could have shared. The yogurt olive spread seemed delicious. I'll surely try. :)
Esperanza, I know what you mean by the drama. My mom had been here few months back just before my IVF and we had conflict between my dh and mom almost everyday. She won't let me get down the bed as I had surgery recently and my dh thought she is pampering me too much and it will make me lazy and after she goes I won't feel like doing anything. But he surely was correct  Now I have an excuse of pg.Oh, I miss her so much.
Babyloves, Good to hear abt your NT scan. Though we do wander around in baby section but haven't thought of buying any maternity cloth. Since I have my b'day next month, I have told dh to present a maternity pant for me. I have lots of loose shirts which I think I can wear for a while.
Mfalda, Good to hear from you after so long. It is good that you have completed your first trimester. I am also in my 12 week now. Abt the sleeping, I mostly like to sleep on my stomach but it is getting very un comfortable now as it is growing. I also have heard that it is good to sleep on your left to have better blood flow to the baby. But I think I read that you can sleep on your back till 14 th or 16 th week. I am not that sure but I am not taking any chance and prefer to sleep on my sides from now. Even no sex while lying on your back!

By the way, I have become so moody. Yesterday, I snapped at my dh for such a little thing that both of us were shocked. He said surely your hormones are going crazy and we laughed. Mu boobs are getting so heavy that my biggest size bra from my last pg is getting too tight and if I do not wear anything, I feel the weight is hurting my back. What abt you guys?
Annie

Ok SONU, here is my ticker! although I must tell you that I got frustrated while creating it. I created 1 little cute one through lilipey.com and 1 cute one in another page and none of them transferred :x I finally opted out for this one, not my favorite, but at least you can see where we are :)

Esperanza - The ticker looks pretty decent!!! In fact when ever you are pasting a ticker url to your signature counter, make sure it begins with ...and it should work that way...and yes paste the image url when you are finsih creating your ticker and add these [img] signs yourself, and remember no gaps.
Hope it will help!!!

Annie - I will PM you the way to do it, its simple!! I can understand you missing your mom, how much ever difference of opinions we have at this time no one else can pamper you better than your own mom. In many cultures, like ours in India, pregnant ladies are especially sent to their mother's places at the time of delivery. Although now it has become a matter of convenience and with so many ladies working and not having many days of maternity leaves prefer keeping helps at home. Well, I am certainly calling my mom over to my place for at least a month at the time of baby-homecoming. :)

mfalda - welcome welcome after a long time....and I can understand the reason for your absenteeism. Oh!! I can very well relate to your sleeping problems. I can say I hardly get sleep at night because most of the time goes in looking for comfy positions for sleeping. And then after lots turning here and there, I can barely sleep for couple of hours and then start staring at the ceiling....and begin dreaming with open eyes!! And yes, I also love to watch animal channels....and discovery channel...baby shows are of course my favourite.

Hi friends,

I so enjoy reading your posts. I'm at work now, so no time for personals, will do so later from home. I just wanted to ask you if you are experiencing the same things I am?

I've been feeling a bit of of stretching in my lower belly. I wouldn't call it cramps, well if they are cramps they are quite mild. I'm hoping is just my uterus expanding and not really cramps, but I can't help to feel a bit scared. Is anybody on the same boat? :?

Esperanza-Hi, I had been active in this post for a while, and although I still follow everyones great stories almost every day, I havent had much to report on myself. I do want to let you know I have had the same sort of achiness, pulling, and weird sort of feelings going on in my abdomen. This will be my second child & I can tell you I had the same kind of stretching feelings with my first. Don't worry! I know, easier said than done! LOL!!!! By the way, we are the exact same weeks/days pregnant. Good Luck & remember to breathe
