Yeah kerpuppies. Great news!

I am doing my beta tomorrow since I started bleeding a lot today. They moved it up. My hips are badly reacting to the shots and so they don't want me switching and paying for suppositories when I am not pregnant!

Maybe next cycle??

HI ladies!!!!

I have news!!!! Beta came back positive today, #71. Is that good?? # too low? I know this is great news, but I'm still skeptical, you know. I won't go back for my 2nd test until next friday, I thought I would go back in a few days... I just want to know.. I'm such a worrier!

Anyway.. so I want to give hope to anyone who doesn't feel any pregnancy signs. Because I was 99% sure it was going to be negative, since I got a negative EPT result and the bloating went away and breast tenderness disappeared.. so there is hope.. don't believe the evil sticks until you get your blood test!!!

can anyone advice on beta #?

new2ivfgirl - Congratulations!!!! Your beta is great. When's beta #2?

Priya - so sorry to hear of your BFN. Two in a row is difficult. Do you have any frosties? The FET cycles were so much easier for me.

No kerpupples - No frosties for me ... Every cycle I just have one embryo to work with. They think there might be problem with the eggs so Donor egg is our next option. I am also thinking of changing the clinic - two in a row is a strike out or them :)

Well then if you use an egg donor I think it would be very similar to an FET for you. I know what you mean about changing clinics - we were going to also if we got a BFN this time.

Good luck and please do keep us posted on what you decide to do!

kerpupples: My 2nd beta is next Friday, 9/26. It's going to be a long week, not nearly out of the woods yet..

I'm so sorry to hear, PriyaC, I know it's not easy getting bad news. I think changing clinic is a very good idea. My friend who had two failed IVFs in one clinic, then she changed to a new one, (the one I used in NYC) and GOT pregnant her first time there!
There's a website that lists all the stats and success rates of all clinics, if you need it, I can look it up for you.

newtoivf - could you tell me which clinic u used?
I moved to boston and have not got good reports of IVF clinics here.
I was in NYC uptil dec last year and got very +ve feedback from my RE there - he was so confident that I will get preg - we may have to pay from our own pocket but I am willing to give him a try.
The clinic was on 59th and 10th Ave called Continumm reproductive center.

Thanks:
Priya

PriyaC: I'm using NYU fertility center, on 1st Ave and 38th St. The place is great! Everyone is nice and they are very organized. (it's my first place, so I've no comparison) And all your blood work will be done between 7-9am right before work, then they call you in the afternoon to adjust your medication if necessary.

thanks so much for the info .....
My DH's next project might be in NYC - so I will be there with him for 3 months and check them out. Am thinking of taking 2 months break this time before the next cycle.
Will keep you posted - may be we can hook up for coffee or lunch when I am there :)

Lots of love

PriyaC, great, do check out the clinic. Be sure to call to make an appt at least a month in advance before you plan to arrive in NYC. It look me a little over a month before I can get a consultant appt with the dr that I wanted.

Keep me posted on your arrival, it will be nice to meet up!

Priya! I am so sorry! I really thought this was your cycle. Mine is negative too and I am switching clinics and also have to pay out of pocket. I am going with CCRM ... at least I hope. Have my phone appt tomorrow. I bought some DHEA today but I am nervous about using it. What if it makes things worse.

My friend got pg on her first round in Boston, though she too found that the clinics there did not have high ratings. I know that cornell in NYC is supposed to be excellent.

Let me know what you decided. CCRM lets you monitor locally and just see them for the end of the stims through transfer back.

Oh btw I hate it when people say they are sorry, I want them to get angry for me! So it totally SUCKS that this round did not work for you!!!! I am also considering donor eggs.

Thanks Ada ... Will keep you posted.

Lynnie - My heart reaches out for you and feels sad it did not work for both of us All the best for ur consultation with CCRM. Karen on the other thread had good things to say abt DHEA. But the new RE may be the best person to consult abt it.
I am thinking of taking to the doc I know in NYC and then take it from there. Might take couple of months off IF since I did back to back cycles last time -give my body a break.
