has anyone lost their bellybutton yet?? Mine keeps getting smaller and smaller....
I had to buy new undies...seems my ass has grown wider too. I haven't splurged on a lot of clothes yet...I have a dental conference in Oct so I will wait until then.
has anyone had baby showers yet? I get things in the mail from relatives every so often. Where have yall had them? My hostess wants to have it at some chi-chi restaurant...I am more used to the casual home ones. What do yall think?

sameera- how are you doing? You should call all your girlfriends and have them bring a 'picnic' to your bedroom so yall can hang out. How is DH handling all the house duties? You totally need a housekeep if you didn't already have one. Hope your babies are good!

niki- I agree with your comment about enjoying having your baby boy flippin' around inside...its such an amazing feeling I am so glad I get to experience it! If we weren't able to conceive we would have adopted, but now I know I would have missed this....
yes, and my baby girl has a lot more clothes than her daddy!

God Bless!

chelly - belly button is lost as well lol - i never lost it with my dd but this pregnancy my belly is bigger then it was before.

I had a belly button ring and I still have it but i am about to take it out cause my skin is stretched lol

oh everything is huge to me now boobs, butt, belly, nose and list goes on.. lol isn't that hilarious how your body changes so differently. But the good thing is I still get compliments from my hubby saying how beautiful i look and what not even though I know I look hideously huge like a SHAMU!!!

no baby shower on my side - i told everyone i didn't wanted one this was our decision to have a second child and we ended up being blessed with twins and I don't want ppl to feel obligated to get us gifts. I would however much rather use their help when babies arrived.

I would prefer to have a shower at home rather then restaurant so you can be more comfortable and enjoy everyone and spend individual thank you quality time with them. Restaurants it's kinda hard and it won't be as much fun. But if your hostess wants to throw it at a chi-chi restaurant then let her do what her heart desires after all she is doing it for you and the baby :)

all my girlfriends are out of state and one gf that I have here is always so busy with drama from her work and home that I cannot ask her to come entertain me. DH is handling house duties very well and I couldn't have asked for more. He is taking such a good care of us-

My MIL/SIL would always offer to come clean the house and what not but i am just in this nesting mode i want all the babies stuff done and setup lol

you should definitely enjoy the movements OMG my babies are on two different schedules - lil girl is always kicking and moving around during the day and at night my lil boy gets so active that he won't let me sleep!!!

even when I bribe him at night saying I will eat some chocolate orange mouse for him tomorrow if he quit kicking me lol but that doesn't work..

but I enjoy it although my ribs are hurting really bad now lol from them kicking and pushing them but at least i know they both are active and will prolly keep me totally busy when their out.

OKAY sorry for the long post see that's what happens when you are on bed rest you become a chatter box lol

take care

Afternoon ladies. Glad you're all doing well.

Chelly - It's great that you've started getting all your nursery furniture. I haven't even given it any thought yet. Really ought to. My mum and gran are desperate to go shopping with me! I'm going to my aunt's on Monday and she's going to show me her stuff, so hopefully it will suit me. She always buys really good stuff, so I think we'll just have to buy the things that are missing.

My bellybutton is about three quarters out, but the last quarter is hanging on in there! It's quite funny feeling it sticking out.

DH can now feel the kicking! He was nearly asleep the other night and the kicking was so strong I felt sure he must be able to feel it and then he did!

We haven't opened the envelope yet! I thought that we'd be so curious that it would be open within a few days, but actually I've become less curious and now am quite enjoying not knowing.

Nikki - yes, time is really flying. I can't believe we'll be in our third trimester soon (then we may be less enthusiastic about being PG!) I really love the sensation too, but it's very distracting! In meetings if it gets boring I sometimes stop listening and have a little smile to myself! At night it's starting to keep me awake - I can't help but just think about it and put my hand on my belly to feel it from the outside too. Last night I felt a hard area and I'm sure that it must have been where the head was. Later, it was somewhere else. That was really exciting!
Glad your snoogle is working!

Sameera - glad you're resting, but sorry it's so boring. Do you like reading? What about audio tapes - do a home study course on something you've always been interested in. How about something useful like reading a book onto a tape for a blind person? So glad that DH is taking good care of you. Shame all your friends are out of state. You're lucky to have more U/s scheduled. That's it for me now. I won't see baby till it's born (unless the midwife is worried about something).

We won't be having a baby shower. It's not very common here. My friends will probably buy a gift once the baby is here, when they first meet it. (Him/her? Hmmm! I wonder!)

Our builders are in at the moment doing our kitchen and knocking walls down. There's dust everywhere. We won't have a cooker for 5 weeks! It's a bit stressful, but rather exciting to see it develop. We're having a playroom next to the kitchen so that should be fun to organise.

I have to buy a name book. I haven't the faintest idea of names. When I was born, my parents took nearly 2 weeks to decide! I was called 'lampshade' in the interim, just to shut people up. There are some baby cards saying welcome to Baby Lampshade! lol

Jenn hope you're OK.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Tin - or should I call you lampshade lol sorry I just couldn't resist it. I think you should take your mum and gran up on that offer and go out shopping even if it's window shopping - you will get to spend some quality time with them it's always precious.

As far as names ugh, don't know what we are gonna name we always have so many disagreements lol I want something unique and short and he want's something of swedish name and I am like i don't think it's a unique name.

For a girl we are debating on these names:

DH: he wants Mia or Maya or Kirsten

Mine: Malia ( but he doesn't like that name for whatever reason but EVERYONE in his family and friends loves that name. )

Boy: we have no clue lol - he hasn't given me any ideas

Mine: Zain or Zane however you prefer to spell ( it means Handsome ) I love that name.

but then again he is not too fond of that name!

I cannot believe we will be soon in our third trimester too. I'm so glad we have kept each other updated and made good friendships! I hope we all continue to share our motherhood experiences even after the babies are born.

Well, alright gotta go fix lunch-

sameera- haha, Miya is on my name list (japanese spelling) but DH doesn't like it...we also have Emma, Leia, and Gabriella on the list. Still haven't decided (although secretly I like Emma!) Zane is nice too; are there any family names yall would use, or does DH want a DH jr? Yes, I would go crazy sitting at home all day too, but it can't be helped. Just enjoy the 'off' time, b/c once those twins are here you probably won't have time to breathe! I had a navel piercing too a long time ago, but the hole is already so stretched you can't see it...I still have an 'innie' but it gets smaller by the day. I feel like a whale too, simple everyday things like bending down or getting up from the floor are getting to be impossible. I can still see my feet (for the time being)! I agree, I hope we all stay in touch to share in motherhood too...I love having buddies all around the world!

Dearest Lampshade....I couldn't help but to burst out laughing when you posted that. Oh, the furniture is still sitting in the boxes in the garage waiting for DH to put it together. Luckily he still has 4 months to go! I feel the hard area sometimes too and then my belly is pointed out to the side...I'm guessing its her head or butt! I start rubbing it and talking to her and she moves. She likes to move to music too! I didn't know yall were remodeling...how exciting! I desperately want either new carpet or tile to replace my old carpet...its been through a rough 5 years with the dogs and is starting to look dingy. I really want tile or hardwood, but we might wait until the baby is up and walking good.

niki- are you getting good sleep now with your snoogle? I have been getting by with my body pillow, seems to be working just fine. I registered for a 'boppy' pillow for nursing but it says you can use it for pregnancy too. I have a billion things on my registry, haha, well see what I end up with!

God bless!

How's everyone doing??

Chelly - Yeah Mia is pretty but I dunno it's so difficult to come up with a name that both of us like. I don't think it would be that difficult if I was american but I am not - I'm indian and I want it to be unique and any name I pick out he thinks are too unique lol

Lampshade - where are you? lol girl I still laugh about it OMG it was so hilarious :) I hope you don't mind.

Nikki - How are you doing? enjoying your body pillow???

Wheres Denise, children and Dr.Jen - haven't heard from any of those in a while.

sameera- I know how you feel; I wanted a name that could be written in Japanese letters but was not too unique...so that is why I have Miya. It is different when you have multiple ethnicities to consider...since my DH is hispanic, the baby's last name will be hispanic...so I wanted to honor my heritage by giving her a 1st or middle name that was japanese-ish or could be written in japanese.
I know, our board sure has slowed down! I guess we have more downtime ( you definetly!). Maybe everyone is busy getting ready for their babies.
Are yall done after the twins? I suppose 3 is a very good number of kids! We want to try for one more, of course DH wants a boy...we have 1 frostie waiting...but who knows if its a boy or girl since its already determined! Haha, poor DH may end up with 2 girls. But we are definetly stopping at 2. I don't even know how I feel about doing another fresh cycle if the FET doesn't work.
Well, thats still atleast 1 year away.
enough blabbing-

God Bless!

Hello all

Sorry for being MIA all week - I've had a hellish week at work and have just been working at home all Saturday morning too. I'm so tired. Part of my week has been interviewing people to join my team, so I'm desperate for them to start and share the load, but it won't be for another month, I guess.

Glad you all enjoyed laughing at my Lampshade name - wait till my baby doesn't get named for a while. We'll end up with something similar.

Well I'm getting fed up with my rib pain. Went to Doc again and he agrees that he doesn't think it's all IBS, but he can't think what it is. All my organs checked out OK on the ultrasound and blood tests, so it could be something musculo-skeletal. He's going to call my OB. I had to lie down yesterday afternoon as I couldn't stand the pain any more. I only have one option for going to sleep and that's lying on left side. Once my buttocks get numb and I need to change position, I'm stuffed. It's worse each week, so who knows what'll be like next week. Baby seems fine and oblivious to mummy's pain thankfully. It's kicking like nobody's business.

I went to my aunt's to see what baby stuff she had to give me and was overwhelmed with box upon box of clothes, bottles, linens, cot, fabulous glider shair, pushchair .....I'll hardly need anything. I'm very lucky, but it did scare me slightly in that I haven't thought about most of this stuff yet and I think I'm ignoring the fact that in just a few months there will be a baby and I won't have time for it all! Plus I probably won't feel like doing anything come November. I'd better get my @rse in gear!

Hope you're keeping yourself amused, Sameera. Everyone else who's MIA, hope you're OK too.

Anyway, catch you next week. I'm off to start the weekend and maybe buy a book of baby names. You guys are waaay ahead...

Chelly - I totally understand about the name thing...I know myself and dh needs to sit down and figure out these names before we go in labor lol..

YES< i am so done with the kids after this. We were trying for a boy and that was the whole reason we attempted IVF. Instead we were blessed with twins so now we will have 3 kids and that's more than enough for both of us to keep us busy :)

Tin - I'm sorry about your work and pain. I really hope your ob figure outs what's going on with your ribs.

Fabulous that you got so many stuff that you can use for the baby. We are getting tons of stuff for the boy from my SIL. We already had girl stuff :) so that will save us tons of money.

Hope everyone else is doing great :)

Hi ladies!
well, I had my share of drama this weekend. I went to a good friend's baby shower (she's due Nov w/a girl) and I found out she is using our #1 pick...Emma. I was disappointed but I'll get over it, but DH is actually mad. Now he is gung-ho into making our baby's room better, this better, etc since they "stole" our name. I suppose we could still name our girl Emma, but I don't want her to be the #2 if you know what I mean. Now he wants to go all out and PAINT (which was a huge arguement before) and decorate like crazy. He is so darn competetive.

sameera- so we are back to square one with names, so I know how you feel. That's great that yall get a lot of things from SIL...we are starting from scratch completely!

tinnotts- We haven't really done much with our room yet either. We have the furniture in, but DH wants to paint now, so more to do yet. But as far as anything else, we have a long ways to go too. I have to wait until after showers etc to see what all I get.

God Bless!

Chelly - I'm sorry about your friend. Did she knew you were gonna your baby Emma?? if she did then that wasn't very nice of her.

But I understand your dh's frustration - I would be really upset too! maybe you guys can use emma in the middle name?? and come up with a different first name??

don't let your friend get to you - I know it stinks!!

So sorry I've dropped off the map. We've had a couple of very tough weeks. The girls caught a cold, and the flu and passed it back and forth for almost three weeks. I caught the cold, and have had a heck of a time sleeping. I popped into the hospital one night because the baby hadn't moved much, but was very reassured to hear the heart beating.

Hubby caught the cold, then another cold, then pink eye in both eyes.

Finally starting to recover, then my Opa had a heart attack last week, and no one in the family bothered to call until the weekend. Tonight we found out my Oma has also been admitted for a blood clot in her lung.

My sister in law has a very serious blood clot in her leg, she's twenty eights weeks pregnant, so this makes this very serious. She was in the hospital for a few days, but seems to be getting even worse now that she's home.

And work has been crazy busy. I'm working with two new teachers this year, and two old teachers that are pretty lazy, so lots to do all the time. I like being busy, but I'm getting tired.

Anyways, hubby can feel the baby moving now, its all becoming real again. He's finally off his duff and finishing some of our home projects. I had to threaten to hire someone to get things moving on his end though. Hopefully the baby's room will be painted within a week or two, I'm feeling the need to get ready.

Anyways, I'm reading up and catching up with all of you, and hope to have some personal messages to add within a couple of days.

Denise - Hey, I was wondering where you went. I hope all is well - sorry about the cold/flu I hope everyone is doing better now.

Deeply sorry about your opa and oma hope they both are doing well and everything will work out.

Try to relax and rest don't let stress get to you - work will get done with or without you :)

As far as movements - Isn't it lovely to feel them! my dh feels them all the time now and my movements are non stop :) hehe

I still haven't grasped and clicked with reality that I am having twins lol I know I see them every time we do u/s and what not but I still cannot believe it.

Anyways - how's my other girls doing??

you girls take care and have a great day!
