Hi all,

I am happy to report that our daughter who is 18 months now is able to use potty all by herself now!

In fact, she was willing to use potty quite early but not without our help. In the past few months, she was able to go by herself, but not consistently nor accident-free, we still had to pay close attention to her by either reminding her to go potty or putting her on the potty at the right times. In the last 2 weeks, however, she suddenly was able to say words like "Niao Niao" for pee in Chinese, "Ga Ga" for poop in French while going on her potty. The most impressive thing that she did was that she would stop playing with water sprinklers in the yard and request to go back in the house for potty. She has been accident free for the last two weeks. The daddy and I were so thrilled!

We cannot claim a complete success yet since she is not diaper-free in the night. Another thing that we have not done is to teach her to pull down her panties prior to her actions - we still just kept her bottomless at home. In fact, the most difficult thing for us to do is to involve her daycare teachers to help - we are working on this now by starting to put her on the toilets in the daycare at the time when we pick her up each evening. Will report how that goes later.

Good morning all

How are you doing Socal? fingers crossed for you.

Yasmina-I'm enjoying your stories surrounding you daughter. How are you doing? Any change in the ms? to answer your question the tournament was gaelic football. Over 30 teams of gaelic athletic teams [football, hurling, camogie] come together every labor day for the national competition and bragging rights for winning their division and a chance to drink from the silver cup. I've been doing this for over 10years and still have not tired of it despite the increased age-related aches and pains from playing such an aggressive sport. Of course this year I was relegated to the sidelines as coach. Next year I plan to be back in tip-top form and playing on the field with my team.

I'm hanging in there. I've a serious of doc appointments leading up to the surgery. Today is pre-op to get all the vitals before surgery. Monday is the maternal fetal medicine appointment to check on our little princess and to give me the risk benefit assessment on fetal health regarding the procedure. Thursday is the big day, they will remove the bloody growth [Yippeee]. It's my understanding that I'll have to stay in hospital overnight to be monitored. I'm starting to get a wee bit nervous, but at the same time I'm a bit over the middle of the night wake-ups to riverlets of blood running down my face. Not a good way to get rest that's for sure, although the silver lining is that it is good sleep deprivation practice for when our little angel debuts.

Hi Catharine,

I had to look up what Gaelic football was and watched U-tube to enjoy this fun game! I was once asked to play soccer while in college since the coach thought that I was able to run very fast, but I did not have the confidence to run for a 90 min game. I stayed in my tracks as a 100m, 200m and 400m runner. I haven't done any competition after college, which is 26 years ago, boy, I am aged.

Good to know that everything is on the way to the end, even though you will have to deal with so many dif depts to make sure everything goes smoothly. Hope your pre-op went well today. Will keep close eye on your progress.

Thanks for the kind words for our DD. We are going to leave her with our usual baby-sitter who is also my best friend when we will go Montreal next week. It's going to be a 5-day trip and this will be the first time in her life without both parents for more than 24h. We don't know how she will cope with our absence, but I guess that we are the ones who suffers more than her - according to books, kids are more resilient than we think.

Thanks for asking about the MS, no, it does not go away completely, I can only say it becomes manageable now.

Well,I am the oldest(I think!),I turned 46 in July and am going for IVF with frozem embies from 24y.o donor egg,we`re so excited!

We`re having 2 embies,will start Lupron soon.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Ours was hot, but what do you expect when one lives in Hotlanta. Slowly we are organizing and preparing for our lil' peanuts arrival [due Nov10]. This keeps my mind off of the upcoming surgery. I'm confident that the surgery will go well with no complications, but there's always a wee bit of anxiety associated with knowing there are no guarantees.

TGIF!

I'm home and everything went well the tumor was benign full report will be available next week. Best of all I have no pain. The baby went to sleep 2 min exactly after I did. Oh, the tumor had grown so much, just barely protruding from my nostril [beautiful right] that local anesthic wasn't going to cut it so I had general, with constant fetal monitoring. Our little peanut decided not to make an early debut. We are thankful for her choice. The surgery went so well, without complications that I didn't have to stay overnight as expected. They sent me home. I was grateful for this as well. Now we can focus on the important issues: preping the home for her arrival, work, and little bits of fun here and there.

Oh funny little story, we ran into one of the REs from the clinic we used the night before my surgery and then the anesthesiologist on this case was my ivf one. Now I know I've hung out at that facility too long.

Welcome and how is down-reg? Hope everything is fine with it. I am only one month younger than you and we are expecting our second child - 4 months to go. My father was VERY worried about my age and health in this pg, but I am feeling fine. You will be too, with your spirit and I am optimistically looking forward to your success!

Well, first time for me to leave our DD after her birth, while enjoying oursevles, I miss her a lot. But DH and I are together and enjoying our second honeymoon, I am kind of glad that I now have him ALL BY MYSELF.

How was your trip? and the conference?

I'm doing well. Our little peanut is measuring at 33weeks, 4.5 lbs. a bit ahead of schedule but this could be human error. She is head down, and I can tell, lots of pressure in my lower abdomen. Next Ob visit we get to pick her birthday

How is everyone else doing? Thinking of ya'll and sending out some PMA.

How exciting to get the chance to choose for your DD's birthday! Did they advise to choose it one or two week earlier than due day? Do you have a name for her now? I hate picking up names, somehow it gives me headache, so I told my DH, it's his job to give a name to our DS. 33 weeks, wow, great success!

Does your nose behave now? How is the work load?

Thanks for asking, the meeting went very well - a result without any distraction from our DD, of course. Unlike last year (we had it in Hawaii), one of us (DH or me) could not attend the talks nor poster sections. Montreal itself did not impress me very much, Canadian people in this city don't seem to be very different from Americans, although most of them speaking "French" which confuses my French husband. I had much better experience with the Canadians in Vancouver - please don't be offended if any Quebecans reading here, it's just my personal experience and my first time to Montreal and I was busy the whole time, I could not know any better.

I like annual meetings since this provides the opportunities to meet old friends who are from all over the world - Germany, France, Japan, China and many other countries. Next year will be Washington DC, a less exciting place.

Well, one bad thing about our trip is that our DD was completely spoiled by my friend in our 5-day absence. Now she does not want to go daycare, nor use potty willingly (she would do only Ga Ga, not Pee Pee), or eating nicely on her own chair anymore - it's amazing how quickly she can discard all the good habits and pick up bad ones...

Oh, about the pg, I still have morning sickness, but it stays only in the morning now, instead of a whole day long event. On the top of that, I have stomach acid reflux which I will have to use prilosec - I used this last time also, but I think it was much later than 20 weeks. I also found myself very sleepy again during the day, it's like the third trimester comes earlier this time around. I had to nap few times during the 8 working hours. Another thing is my weight gain is faster than last time (9 lbs so far), then I was told boys makes mums bigger.

That is wonderful news. Remember that I had to use Prilosec during my pregnancy as well.
