9/19 u/s at 9w2d: 163hb; 24mm; moving! Took Mom with me. She was very excited. She had 4 kids and never had an u/s. I guess we’re spoiled.
Emfossum: I am on progesterone suppositories (200mg 2 x daily). The doc said I should take through week 10. I don’t love them, but much better than the shots.
SilverAngel679: Congratulations! I had a similarly bad experience last year when I had a miscarriage. I have an HMO so I don’t always get much choice, but at least I know who to avoid. Glad you found a good one.
Sweetmomi: Congratulations! The nuchal u/s is 1 of 2 parts of an optional screening test you can do to identify certain birth defects (i.e. Down’s syndrome) during the first trimester. It measures the skin at the back of the neck. The second part is a blood text. Since it is a screening text, there is no risk to the baby, but it could potentially miss about 20% of these types of issues. My HMO sent me to a genetic counselor who was very helpful, but I ‘m still undecided about whether to pursue the diagnostic tests, which carry greater risks.

kimmysq: They say m/s usu. ends after the first trimester so you should have some relief soon. I do my FTS on Oct. 9 at 12w1d. I would have liked to do it earlier, but this is the earliest I can schedule due to the twin who didn’t survive. I have read that the best time to do it is during the 10th week.
PMApsy: I didn’t see an embryo/heartbeat until 6w6d. I was very anxiety-ridden as evidenced by my earlier posts, but so far it seems to be okay. During weeks 6, 7, and 8, the embryo was also undersized. But, during week 9, it’s caught up. So, I agree that it’s definitely too early to panic. Too bad we can’t relax with a glass of wine or a hot tub soak – a lot of us really need it!
