Does anyone have any insight on if there is any damage to the baby if you get sick and can't eat for two days? I had to have my dog put down yesterday. So the day before and yesterday I just couldnt eat, I really tried, but couldnt. I ate things like 1/2 can chicken noodle soup, banana and 1/2 bowl cereal. Thats what I ate for the whole two days, now I am afraid that I may have done something to hurt the growing of my little girl.
Has anyone goten sick and not been able to eat and everything was ok??
I've eaten good so far today and I plan on having steak and sweet potato for dinner.
I'm so sorry that you had to say goodbye to you dog... They do take a lot of space, and the house seems so empty without them...
There is no reason to worry whatsoever. Your baby will take whatever it needs from your body, and that's exactly what your little girl did these last few days. For example, you'll be anemic to the last degree before your baby even starts lacking iron. In fact, I think the reason why pregnant women are told to eat really well is so the baby doesn't raid their reserves too much!
So really, don't worry, and don't feel bad because you didn't eat much. My father's wife was sick like a dog for her three children, and she couldn't eat much many times during her pregnancy, and my two sisters and my brother are in super shape!
Take care,

Hi Dakota~
I am so sorry to hear about your dog I had to put my cat down 2 years ago, and I was so upset that I threw up for 2 days straight. It is devastating, and I am so sorry for your loss.
Do not worry about the pregnancy, PMApsy is right, our bodies have plenty of reserve for the baby to live off of. Think of the women who have such intense morning sickness throughout the entire pregnancy that they eventually wind up in the hospital for IV fluids. That is just to keep them hydrated. A few days without food won't hurt your little one. you also said you had some soup and a banana, so try not to worry. I will say a prayer for you and your family for your loss.

Two weeks after my BFP my husband told me that he was leaving me for another woman. I was unable to eat for weeks. I now have what of an appetite. I lost 10 lbs. but have gained 1 lb back. My MD says that the baby will be fine. I am now 13 weeks. I fortunately could afford to lose a few pounds. I was about 10 -15 lbs "overweight". You will be fine! I am sorry to hear about your dog.
I'm so sorry about your dog... I don't know what I would do without my pooch and please know that my ehart goes out to you in every way.
With that I'll tell you what my doctor told me. I'm a big girl to begin with and I was concerned that all the books said that I needed to gain like 55 lbs becuase I'm now carrying twins. There's is no way on the planet I cold gain 55 lbs and not have everything in the book wrong with me during this pregnancy and i told my doc my concerns and he assured me that all I had to do FOR THE ENTIRE PREGNANCY was maintain my current weight. He even said that if lost a few lbs it would be better. He said that I have plenty of reserve for the babies and not gaining any weight woudl put them in no harm what-so-ever and even a loss of a few lbs would be better for them because it would keep me healthier.
Don't worry about not eating for a few days, as you can see, they take what they need from us no matter what and unless your inability to eat lasts long enough to make YOU sick, your little girl is probably just fine.
