thank you all for your feedback it has made me feel so much better. i think that maybe with everything miley (daughter) went through at birth they are just watching her more closely waiting for her to do things. well i will be keeping more in touch and surely will have more questions. but to brief on what happen.. was induced 1 week early due to gestational diabetes. in labor for 12 hours doc had broke my water at 10:00 am after 3 hours, with no progress by 8:00pm came back in and thought i had another bag of waters when he broke it, it was actually my placenta. it came down before the baby. was rushed for c-section and she was born still-born. they got her heartbeat back after 2 minutes and she was given tubes to breathe. she had to be rushed to another hospital and on the way she pulled her tube out and took a deep breathe and started breathing on her own ( she knew she could lol) when at the other hospital she had to have a blood transfusion (due to the placenta bleeding) she had lost 2/3 of her blood. she was then placed on the "cooling bed" where they kept her body cold for 4 days in order to prevent brain damage (amazing procedure if anyone has time to read up on it) my husband got to hold her for the first time on fathers day!! what a present. she did so well she came home in 1 week. she had to have an mri which showed some spots (also had cord wrapped twice) that some babies often with the cord wrapped have, she had an eeg which came back good. and here she is... so that is why the doctors are eagle eyeing her. i think with everything she went through they can't believe that there is nothing wrong. that is just what i think though. i am also the one that way back in oct. when i went back to re's office for blood test it came back negative and i kept testing and testing to always find a positive, so even from the very start miley has given me a "run for my money" and every single one of our babies are a blessing from god and true miracles!!! but again thanks for the reply's they were all very helpful!!!! and i look forward to joining your group here.

Wow Carolinagirl that's some story! Amazing what these doctors can do!!!!! (including making you worry when you probably have no cause to!!).

I must admit I'm a little concerned that my boys show no sign of wanting to or trying to roll over. They are 5 months and 1 week old now. I'm sure I have nothing to worry about either, I guess having babies just makes you paranoid!!!

Has anyone got any teeth yet!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

thanks so much! it sure does help to have people to talk to.. i am sure your boys are fine also. like i said all babies are different, my son did some things early some late and i think they are just watching miley more closely because what she went through. they told me their goal is to have her crawl, not that she shows any signs of doing so or not doing it. but they said anywhere between 9-12 months. i know alot of babies that started to crawl at 6-7 months. all depends on the baby. miley has been knawing and drooling like crazy! she has 2 little white spots where her two front bottom teeth are. not sure if they are teeth, but my son was 4 months when he got his first one. i always used frozen celery with brenton. i have also heard that the teething tablets work great! can't wait to try all this new stuff. they didn't have these things when i had him almost 12 years ago.

Melanie, welcome to our site and what a story. Congratulations!

Sorry ladies, I have not posted in about 3 weeks. It is so busy but I am so enjoying being a Mom.

We went to Paris last week for 5 nights. (the reason we moved to the U.K was the alure of travel) Stephie did fine during the day. The first two nights she didnt' sleep well. Then she slept just fine. She seemed to enjoy the sites and trees and noise. It was fun watching her expressions.

She will be 5 months this Wed. We have not started to wean her at all. Trying to wait unitl the 6 months. I am not ready to rush her development but if she shows signs of needing it we will give her some rice. She is almost sitting up by herself, but not quite. She does fine in the bumpo chair. She loves her swing! and so do I as it gives me some time to get some things done. She is a good sleeper down by 8:00 and up at 6:00.

I'll try to log in more often. I would love it if you would send me pictures of your babies! Please PM me and we can exchange emails. I think Cocoa is the only email I have.

Bliss to all,
Kipatte

Hi all..sorry, very busy...am without a sitter these days  and loving it...ha. Capitulated to an Au Pair when my girl started rolling recently...it's a 'safety issue' ... meaning no way in hell can I keep an eye on 2 babies at once...

So, Early Nov she arrives...cross your fingers.

Hayley...mine were born April 3.
My girl rolls one way, my son another...today, they both started rolling both ways. ie: almost 6 mos old.
Do not worry...too much fear put into us moms.

Kipatte: as to solids...my twins made it to rice cereal, we will move on to oatmeal in a few days (after 3 weeks or so on the rice cereal, per doc's suggestion)....don't push it...some people start really early, but docs say not to...

ok, tired. g'night love to all

Hey Girls...

I've been getting sad lately... I miss all of you and all the fun we had while we were talking/complaining about being pregnant... Where are we all!?!? Woodcliff... you have been promising to send more pics but I haven't seen them!!! What about the rest of you???? I have gotten real early pics from WC and pics from Vlada and Kpattie but just emails from others and NO email address from more of you...

Where are all the girls we started with? Aliann08??? LisaPa what is going on with you??? I DO know Michelle (sciteacher77) had a successful transabdominal cerclage last month but haven't heard from her since... I KNOW its difficult to share specifics for some of us because of anonimity sake but let's talk about our baby bodies and share the samenesses/ differences among the early months... such as I could NOT BF passed 3 1/2 months. It HURT because of a yeast infection (mouth and other moist areas) and it lingered in my breast tissue. I had really wanted to BF for a year! Couldn't - very sad... don't know else is/isn't and what issues are going on... we could really help each other...

Also, this was my last pregnancy - age, money, no man etc... but is anyone else trying again? When? My body is round in areas it hasn't been in YEARS!!! but I don't mind because it helps round out my face which is better as I age... :-)

OK, enough venting... WC!!! send new pics!!!

Wow!!! You poor dear! You certainly went through it as did your DD... wow!!! Yet it sounds as if your DD is doing great and I'll bet the doctors don't even know what to make of it! Please stay with us... now I totally remember your story about the beta and the POAS episodes... THAT'S why I followed you so closely back then...

Please keep us updated... we LOVE having you here...

Hi Cocoa:

Hmmmmm, breastfeeding didn't work for me at all. I was so sad because I really wanted to and I liked going to the Breastfeeding club which I now don't go to because it didn't work. Of course that was months ago.

I have two baby clubs. One of friends I have made and we alternate houses each week and make lunch for each other. The other supported by the clinic. I love both of them.

Weight.... still need to loose 10 lbs. It's hard. I'm up to 25 sit ups a day.

Last time for me because I am 46 and my embryos are in the states and I am in England. I would do it again but my DH wants Stephanie to be the caboose.

What about that election in the states. We just received our absentee ballots today. What an interesting election. Interesting all my British friends are following it very close and very opinionated about it. It's quite impressive as when I lived in the states I did not follow UK politics.

Love to all,
K

Hello all,
I BF only for 3 months because after 3 months my milk went away, that could be because i started working out a lot. I am pretty much back to my normal shape, still need to firm up a little bit more.
I am 31 ,but my husband is 44, so i think we are done with having more kids, he will have a visectimy (sp?) soon .
I would love to see pics of your babies!!!! So far I have seen Hayley's, Cocoa's and Kipatee's and they are ADORABLE!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D
The rest of you send me your e mails

hello, sorry it's been so long - so much has happened! We relocated back to the UK about 2 weeks ago and so it's been crazy. For the record I don't recomend a 15 hour plane journey and 8 hour time difference for 5 month old twins!! I was on such a good schedule and it all went out the window. 2 weeks later the girls are still not themselves. We're camping at my parents for now while we wait for our stuff which is somewhere crossing the USA as I type.

Hope everyone else is well. I'm still BF'ing although I've also introduced solids at lunch time - the girls love carrots!! I would like to start weaning the girls on to a bottle as my milk production is getting lower but one of my girls refuses anything other than the boob. any help on this would be appreciated.

So I'm back to my pre-preg weight, I think the BF'ing helps and all the walking I do. Still no luck on the napping front - unless their in the car or the buggy they won't sleep! the girls are now 5.5 months old so I am hoping that they will start napping better soon.

take care all x

Hi RebeccaJ:

I am taking that same trip to the states but only for 3 weeks at Christmas time. I am nervous about it. Stephie will be 8 months then.

Curious, why did you move back and what area?

Hey Ladies!!!

How are ya'll?!? I am doing OK... I think though that instead of having lost my brain to my babies that I may actually be suffering post-traumatic stress after all that happened to me through the pregnancy and after. NOW I am back at work and my days are very structured so I think that is helping BUT I have bad ADD :-( right now.

So... baby milestones... hmmm... I think we all need to give our babies a break. My babies are 6 months in a couple of days and NOW they are really doing their "talking" and rolling and really noticing each other - soooo darn cute. My baby girl is a tantrum thrower and baby boy has such an even temperament - its funny to see how different they are. I think God plans the development this way or we would get sad that they get big so quickly but with all the "new stuff" they seem to do all the time its just too cute to be sad.

I don't belong to any mom's groups - nope... too busy working BUT I am grateful since the economy is so bad right now. I am not feeling it like so many families. I just have to pray and believe that people in this country will begin to focus on what's right and moral and pray that families once again become the cornerstone of this country. AMEN sistas!

So... still going strong with my new guy. He's so much like me that at times I don't like him at all  Its true ladies... see if you can live with someone who is just like you... (that said - we are NOT living together - yet)

Listen - WC is a beautiful lady as is Kipatte BUT I have NOT seen any of the rest of you... and REBECCAJ - Your email did NOT work!!! I have been meaning to tell you that...

Airplanes and babies huh!?!? Hmmmm... don't think I want to venture there. Airplanes and TODDLERS seems tougher so I think I will wait another 4 1/2 years... My older son took his first plane ride at the age of 4 years 9 months. He was good with it then. He was actually excited and I was a nervous wreck - always am at take-off. I live in PA/central NJ area and have been to Puerto Rico a number of times too but I won't be going on the 4 hour trip for a while...

WC - where did you go late August? How did you and the babies travel?

OK, we're eating just about everything and bottles are a little less. Before it was 4 bottles/day now they are doing 3 MAYBE 4 - depends... We did sleep through the night last night... FINALLY so I MAY start to get some sleep which I am sure will help with the post-traumatic stress. Anyway, they are still only doing rice cereal and I will continue that to 8 months maybe one year because introducing wheat too early can cause wheat allergies.

SO... QUESTION... does anyone else's babies have a reaction to mosquito or other bug stings/bites (whatever you want to call them)??? My babies get huge whelts that are really red and a tinge of yellow in the center. I am praying they don't have a bee allergy... God would that be bad!

OK, baby boy is fussing in bed half asleep right now so gotta go...

love you all...
