Hi there,
I did progesterone shots for my fresh IVF cycle and it was successful.
I did supps for my recently failed FET. I am trying to figure out why it didn't work.
Ghost or anyone: are shots better for progestrone instead of the supps? My RE said it is a control issue and I am fine on supps, but of course, I just really want my second FET to work.
Thanks for your help!

Both work fine.
I doubt the failed cycle had anything to do with the form of progesterone administration.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

Just to be clear, they are all supplements. There are progesterone pills, suppositories, gels, effervescent tablets, and injections. The injections are pretty universally despised by patients and loved by the doctors. The pills are not especially effective on their own, but can give a little boost when combined with other forms.

Apparently they did a big study in chicago and it turns out suppositories work just as well as shots. I personally prefer the shots, but many hate them!
Me: 44 severely reduced reserve
DH: 44 perfect
IVF 1: Feb 08 -BFP twins (lost one at 7 weeks, one at 13 weeks)
IVF 2: June 08 -BFN
IVF 3: September 08 -BFN

My nurse recommended the shots because they are significantly less expensive than the suppositories and gels.

I did a FET with suppositories (and hated them). Did a second FET and my RE really wanted to switch me to PIO. I wasn't happy b/c I hate shots...not sure if it was the reason, but my second FET worked.

I did two cycles. The first one I used the PIO to which I was very allergic and could not stand the pain anymore. They switched me to suppositories after 10 days. I got a BFP although it was a chemical.
This cycle, they started me on the suppositories from the start and got a healthy BFP. I like the supp. so much better as I don't have pain. They seem to work equally well for me. The price is a big difference but I'll gladly pay the difference.
Good luck n your next FET cycle and wish you a BFP.

I am using the suppositories three times a day. It is the preferred option by my doctor because he has had more success with them.
That is all I needed to hear.
I use Endometrin. I typically get a discharge toward the 7th-8th hour of it being in before it's time for the new one. It made me wonder about how not all of it is being absorbed, but the nurse assured me that I was getting enough. I also worried that I wasn't getting it close enough to the cervix, but I sometimes get cramping and I don't have any more of the plastic insertion thing left, so it's as high as I can get it.
Once I saw the trigger shot needle and had to have my husband do that shot for me, I was not going to do the PIO, since the needles are the same size. Subcutaneous shots were a breeze. My bum was sore for days after the trigger shot!
I am on the newest version of Endometrin, where you don't have to lay down for 30 minutes afterwards. Not all insurance will cover the new version since it is more expensive and they figure the older version works just as well.
