Took A Little Fall. Every Thing ok?

Post by SilverAngel679 »

Hey ladies, I was just wondering if I could have your oppinion on something because I'm just a little worried.
This morning I had a job interview at a bridal boutique and as I walked through the store I didn't see a step that led to a raised platform and my foot cought it. Now I didn't fall violently or hard or anything. It was more of me just loosing my balance and falling to one knee which I wasn't able to keep my balance on either so I feel to the side on my hip/butt.
It all happened kind of slow and it wasn't violent like I said and I didn't fall on my belly at all but I'm a little worried because it was still a fall and it definatly jarred me.
I feel fine, didn't even hurt my knee or butt and my belly feels fine, but I'm 11 weeks 4 days with twins and I was just wondering if any of you have had the same expirience and what happened? Does any one think I should go get a sonogram just to make sure? I know I sound paranoid but I can't help it.
Any advice would be great. Thanks so much.

following up after the fall

Hi SilverAngel,
Sorry to read about your fall! I'd rest and wait a few hours. If you feel any pain and/or see unusual discharge, you should call your doctor. Maybe you should leave a message so the weekend staff will have some heads up if you need to check in.
Babies are very strongly attached to their anexes. Nature is very wise. Trust it. I think you may have been a bit distracted (considering you were going to a job interview) and also walking through an unknown pathway. In the future, as your boby weight and balance changes at a very fast rate, I think you could do a few simple things to prevent a fall: practice walking meditation (you don't think about anyting else but the steps); using a very good pair of shoes with strong support) and visually recognize stairs, hallways, crossing streets before start walking.
I did slip another day and got scared - maybe we both got a simple "warning"...Wish you are feeling much better now!

As Liter said I would just rest and if you have any cramping call the doctor. It is hard at that stage of pregnancy because you can't really feel them move around. I fell to my knee 2 weeks ago today because i slipped on some water and it scared the crap out of me. But I sat down in some air conditioning and drank some fluids and relaxed and I started feeling them move around in no time. Once you further along it will be easier to know but if you are concerned at all call theafter hours nurse and she will give you all the symptoms to go to the er for.
