Any 5 cell success stories out there???

Post by dretrac »

I had a 3dt today and we transferred 1-5 cell and 2-4 celled embies----one of the 4 celled embies had lots of fragmentation but the others did not.

Grasping at straws here!
Tracey-35 Andre-31 (no bio children)
DD-Ali-14 DS-Dillon-11
TTC since 9/06 (tubal reversal)
7/08 IVF- 17 eggs retrieved
14 mature
11 fertilized
5dt--2 early blasts--BFN
IVF #2--10 retrieved, 10 mature--only 3 fertilized :(

Hi,
I came across your post and was wondering if you had success w/ any of the 4 or 5 cell embies you had mentioned in your post?

We are sort of in the same situation, since we transfered one 8-cell one 5-cell today on day 3 ET.

I'm SO let down since our 1st failed IVF, we had four 8-cell embies, so they pushed us out to day 5 ET and had transfered a 2BB and a Morula...neither one of which took. So to me going by stats, ours seem much worse this time and its really hard to remain positive.

I asked the Dr. if there was really any point in the 5 cell transfer if it really should be at least at 6 on day 3, and she said people are often successful w/ it, but have a feeling she was only saying it to keep me positive.

Thanks.

We transferred three embryos - all four-cell with fragmentation on all of them, with the third being heavily fragmented.
I had a positive first beta last Thursday, but my numbers were a bit on the low side (60.85). I have my second beta on the 6th, so I will have a better idea of what will happen tomorrow (chemical pregnancy or keep playing!).
The hardest thing about this process is all the 'I don't knows' you run across and have no control over.
The best advice I can give you is the same advice people gave me... You just don't know what is going to happen, but you have come this far, so why not just finish the journey?
The good news (and the bad news) - There is not one pattern that says "This will guarantee you a happy ending in 9 months." I have been reading the board and seen women with great embryos get BFNs while others with one average embryo from one follice get BFPs. I have read about people having high betas at first only to have the baby miscarry, while some lower scores do fine. So you just have to wait and see what happens. (Argghhh!!!)

I had 1 (one) 6 cell embryo transferred on day 3. My first beta was 34 nine days after my ET and 87 two days later.

Hi!
Wow! You must be a very good finger-crosser! 2nd beta 975!!!!
I almost asked if they had taken the values from the wrong tube!!!
So I guess the next step is the ultrasound!

Ha, in case the finger crossing did bring some luck, I'll continue to keep them crossed for all of us:) This is really great news and gives so much hope to everyone else!
