Question for Ghost

Post by Nadia123 »

Ghost,

Can you tell what you think about taking Aspirin 81mg.
I've been taking it irrigularly during my IVF cycle and stopped the last week. I just got a 14 day Beta of 109 and I'd like to return to the aspirin as I read it decreases the chancees of m/c.

Any ideas?
Thanks

Nadia,
Did your RE not tell you how long to take it for?
I had to begin taking the baby aspirin, I beleive the day after my ET, and I had to continue taking 1 per day until my beta. Since mine was negative, I was told to stop so I don't know if they would have told me to continue or not. It just confused me because you said you were taking it irregularly and I was told that I had to take it everyday.

Thanks for the reply. Actually I added the aspirin on my own, it was not part of my protocol for this cycle. I just read a lot about the benefits of aspirin and the doctor did not mind adding it. But, I was nervous about taking it every day, so I was irrigular.

I guess my concern is that I also read it helps prevent a m/c because it increases blood flow. So, my question is whether I would be hurting myself by returning to aspirin. I searched on the web and there are so many different opinions and studies?

I am 7w4d pregnant with twins. I just went to my new OB today to meet with the nurse for dos and don'ts of pregnancy. I was told to avoid aspirin. Not sure if this is true for baby aspirin too. I would check with your RE.

Some studies claim to have found a benefit, others did not see it. There might be a small benefit, but if it was a big improvement, then more studies would have found it.

Should clear everything with your RE first.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

My RE had me start baby aspirin (81mg) right after the transfer, and I'm still on it post-BFP. I think they intend to keep me on it through the first trimester if all goes well.

Hi, i took baby aspirin due to having factor V Leiden, which is a blood clotting disorder which can cause early pregnancy loss. This happened to me with my first 2 Fet's. I had to take it until 34 weeks pregnant as it needed to be stopped prior to delivery. Unless you have a problem, taking aspirin should be avoided.
My clinic used to give aspirin to everyone, but stopped a couple of years due to further research.
