Ghost - ? about vitrification

I went to see my RE yesterday. She states we are definitely going to do an FET with the 2 I have. She also seemed very optimistic based on their grading, both 2BA, with 1 and A being the best, and that they made it to day 6. Like I mentioned previously, I was told these are better than the ones transferred.

I brought up my concern regarding the thawing and how I read embryos do not always survive. Her response was "not here" and the reason she is confident, not only based on experience but that the vitrify (sp?) their embryos. Of course, I came home and googled this and if I understood correctly, the difference between vitrification and cryopreservation is that vitrification is a fast freeze. One sight actually mentioned that cryopreservation tends to cause embryos to shrivel like a raisin, which could damage the embryo. This shriveling does not happen with vitrification. Did I understand this correctly?

I also read about another clinic online that just started doing vitrification this year 2008, after finding out that was better than cryopreservation. so, this made me feel better about the whole thing. And their success rates increased when they started doing this.

I'd like to know what you think because, even though I think my RE is great, I worry that she is being positive to just help me not worry so much.

I don't know that grading system, but you seem to have frozen day 6 blasts. They work well.

Yes, conventional freezing results in shriveled embryos that need time to re-expand after thaw. Yes, vitrification (rapid freezing) avoids that.

Many clinics are noting big improvements in their FET rates with vitrification.

FETs often work where the fresh cycle failed. Endometrial receptivity is not disturbed by ovarian stimulation in an FET cycle.
