JennLB25 - Thanks for the video, I will have to check it out later when I am not at work and can cry all I want.

sloan88 _ Welcome to the board, so sorry you have to be here. Maybe we can be keep our fingers crossed that you will get your BFP tomorrow. How long have you been TTC? I am also unexplained which is really frustrating. The injections seem really bad at first but you will get used to them. The sub-q injections that go in your tummy aren't bad at all. What drugs will you be taking? I don't see any problem with getting the drugs the day before but some drugs are hard to come by so I would defiantly check with your pharmacy to make sure you could get them in 1 day if you need to.

Feel free to come here with any questions you may have, we have a lot of veterans on this board so one of us should be able to help you out.

to_have_fun08 ...

Thanks so much for reaching out... it's a relief to talk to someone other than my DH - sometimes I feel like a weird broken record is going on in my head. I've been trying for a little over a year. My temps have been perfect... every thing is "normal". everyone seems to think it should happen including my acupuncturist and DH... I did have a little polyp removed in March that was causing some bleeding so I thought - oh problem solved!... but nope...
My only thought is that over the years I've suffered from severe menstrual pain although recently it's been brought under control by acupuncture - so my RE agrees maybe mild endo?? but it doesn't show up anywhere so if so it's definitely mild... and he thinks better just to go to IVF w/ no Lap. I was going to do IUI but it barely increases my chances as I do ovulate like a clock.... and the injectible IUI scares me in terms of multiples...

I think more than anything i'm aware that I don't deal with disappointment very well so I thought - go straight to IVF and give it the best shot I can - be prepared to do at least 4 cycles and hope for the best!

anyway - that's my story. do you have any clue now that you've started IVF what the problem is? I am at least hoping to get some answers. I'm guessing maybe poor egg quality b/c of my age my FSH is 9.8 which is normal but borderline.

anyway - I'm happy to be here. I promise not be so longwinded in the future... but it's a relief to share w/ someone going through similar frustrations.

thanks again

Thanks Chris for the encouragement! You're right, the longer you've been just you + dh it's easier to think about how disruptive a child will be to the routine. But what a wonderful disruption it will be, huh? And thanks for the funny "batty dh" cartoon. They do drive us batty but then again they have to put up with our hormones HAH!

Welcome sloan88... Good luck and stay in touch on this thread. Also, I don't see a problem with getting the drugs the day before you start as long as the Rx is ready to go!

NY4thtry - I have lots of family. I have 4 brothes, 1 sister plus 6 cousins that we grew up living next door so they are like brothers and sister. With all that I have tons of nieces and nephews but with that none of that helps when you want your own child. I want something that is a part of me and Dh. But we will be getting our BFP's soon so then we won't have to worry anymore.

sloan88 - Through doing IVF I have found that I have a high E2 level which possibly might be an issue with me conceiving on my own. I was on the same protocol you are on for my last cycle. I took 300u of Follistim, 75U menopure and then after 6 days of stims I did Ganirelix. This is supposed to be a great protocol for poor responders, it is supposed to get better quality eggs. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

sloan- I know how you feel, I've been ttc for nearly 4 years and it's still unexplained. We've been through all sorts of meds and a total of 6 IUIs. So we're moving onto IVF and I too am hoping (a) BFP, or (b) some clue as to why its not working...

4 years is really a long road. I'm sorry to hear that. Let's hope we both get a BFP (and if not answers)!

Hi Everyone,
I just got a call from SIRM and my FSH is 14.2 (taken on Day 4). I mean WTF!! It was 8.2 in January and 9.2 in July. How can it be so high! I already know my egg quality is poor with 4 miscarriages (all naturally conceived) due to chrmosomal abnormalities and now this! I was so excited about going to a new Dr. Now I feel like I got kicked in the stomach. This whole thing is so hard and so few of us seem to get a break! I think my FSH went up BECAUSE of the IVF meds and the toll they took on my ovaries is showing now. Has anyone else had this experience with a drastically rising FSH?
Me: 39
DH: 39
4 consecutive miscarriages:-(
IVF #1: 8/08 with PGD-BFN
IVF#2: 10/08 (doing CHG)

Hey everyone,

ajdec Congrats on the trigger shot!!! I know you were about done with those stims, so this will come as a welcome break - no shots tomorrow then!!!!! When is your ER scheduled for ?

Karenvancouver The board looks great, and i looked up the mayo clinic - once again i am a big fan of DHEA (i'm so fickle) even if i'm bursting out my jeans.....

Mrs Cutter How are the bcp's going?????

Sloan88 welcome to the board - i've always found everyone so understanding and supportive and we ALL understand....

To Have Fun So now you have a date for the bcp's!!!! Thats great news, i'm itching to get started, in fact i even called the RE today to say AF had come. The nurse looked at my notes and then came back on the phone and said 'erm, you know you're not starting this month but next, right?' and i was 'yeah but i was getting excited and thought i'd update you in case you need it for the records or something'. She obviously thought i was some crazy lady and said 'er, ok well just call back day one of next AF, ok?' Obviously she doesnt understand !!!!

Well today i had accupuncture again and she put one in my forehead and OUCH! she said it was my emotional center and i was dealing with difficult emotions (Oh really? never would have guessed!!!!) Well i dont know whether she stimulated these or if it was co-incidence but when i got home DH was on the phone to one of his friends back in FL who was telling him he had had a fling with a girl a few weeks ago and she had given him herpes and he had gotten her pregnant...... NICE!!!

So i burst into tears because its so unfair (not jealous of the herpes though-hehe) so it was kind of a bad day, not that i know either of them but its just a reminder that its so damn easy for everyone else, and yet for all of us with loving DH's who try and try and try and spend spend spend beyond our means and suffer all this disappointment and constant heartbreak....... sorry for the rant

To all the newbies on the board - I'm not normally like this!!!! I have been known to have excellent PMA at times!!!

Thank goodness i have the support of you ladies on this board.

Today i was talking to my Father and we were talking about the difficulties of the markets etc.. I am in that business as was he.. and he starts to tell me i should really not be spending money.. and i said i wasnt except on getting PG.. i havent bought clothes in months and month (i used to be the ultimate fashion victim) and even returned an expensive limited edition handbag DH bought me for our anniversary.

at which point he said "you have tried to many times etc" and really got on my case "when you are broke dont come to me" i lost it and said that when times are tough parents should be more supportive..(especially becauase he is quite well off)

It has been tough on DH and i financially.. i bought a big apartment before we knew that we would have all these expenses . I also started my own company so things arel less stable>> but i cant wait on IVF becasue of my age...

I need another battering ram for unsupportive parents!!!

NY4thtry - I will try and find some battering ram for unsupportive parents cartoon for you. Why don't people just learn if they don't have anything nice to say, then don't say it at all. Like your father has any clue to how you feel about wanting a child and not being able to have it on your own. It might not be a good time to be spending money but heck when is a good time to spend money? None of us are getting any younger so might as well do it when we can.
Well this isn't a battering ram but just imagine you hitting your father and maybe DH on the head.

ajdec - YEAH!!!!!! I am so happy you get to trigger. Can't wait to see how many follies you get.

Kas101 - Sorry you aren't having a good day. It always sucks when someone gets PG and doesn't deserve it. On the day I got my BFN, my mother-in-law called and said my BIL's x-girlfriend was PG again. This will be her second child and she can't take care of the first child. The government supports them and she lives with her mom who is totally psycho. Poor kids. Just what I really needed to hear on the day I got my BFN.
I don't know if I could take a needle in my forehead. I hate any kind of pain on my forehead. Hope you get used to the needles, I thought that stuff was supposed to be relaxing  .
I also looked at the mayo clincs site for the DHEA, they had some good things to say. That is the site I researched and figured out that it wouldn't be a good thing for me because of the whole estrogen thing.

chenry4413 - I have heard of women's FSH levels rising significanlty from 1 month to the next. It might have to do with the labs also. Does SIRM have a cut off limit? I am sure finding out that limit was like getting kicked in the stomach. I have come to realize that nothing is easy in life for most of us IVF women.

Karen - Thanks for updating the board. How are you doing?

NY4th I totally agree with To Have Fun's reply, no one understands that longing you feel for this baby (except for us i guess) and people can be so insensitive without realising it, even those closest to us. Your heart is telling you to persue this, so thats what you need to do and dont let anyone tell you otherwise..... roll with the punches
