Renee
I would say its really quite early and wed should be a better day to test. If it doubles nicely then thats the real indicator. Its a low number but I have read woman whose RE's test this early and had similair results...and had a BFP and a healthy viable pregnancy...So I will say Congrats for now...you have no real reason to not be hopeful...so think optimistically and best to you....I am hopeful for you!

Aloha Renee. You tested early and I believe that you did a 3dt, so you are 12dpo. I know how you're feeling as I've been there. You do have a positive even if it's on the low side. Keep your PMA and Wednesday will tell us a lot more. It is really hard but please believe that it can work. Perhaps the next test will be much higher and it's possible that your embie implanted later. Concentrate on the fact that it's positive. I'm sorry you have to go through this.
Sending you tons of sticky baby dust and lots of hugs!!

Renee~ We are here for you! And I know DH has just left so we'll be your family in the mean time. Remember that we can not change the outcome but we can have a strong PMA and believe in a good outcome.
Stay strong and I know we will see a very good beta on Wednesday!

Hugs!

Renee~Congratulations Island Girl! I say this counts as a BFP until proven otherwise! wow--what a cliffhanger. And I can't believe you got the news just as DH is leaving! I feel for you and am thinking of you. The waiting is grueling--keep the faith--I see a baby in your future.

I just returned from transfer and I have 2 near perfect 8-cell embies inside me now! I went to accupuncture immediatley after and now I am home chilling on the sofa eating tons of pineapple! DH just went back to the store to get another one as I already ate an entire pineapple! They are watching the other two embies and will freeze them if they make it to blast--one is only 5-cell but one is 7-cell and might make it!

SueQiwi~ Congrats on being PUPO!!! It sounds like you transferred two very good embies! I hope your two other ones make it to freeze. How awesome would that be. :D :D
Be careful eating TOO much pineapple. If you've eaten one already, I would take it easy. The core is the important part.

I had an embie that was a 4 cell while the others were already 8 cells and then caught up to become a blast at the same time as the others. Yours might just do the same thing.

Now that I am nine days late with the baby, my DD falls on my father's birthday. My cousin's DD falls on the anniversary date of my father's death.
Makes me cry when I think about it. My Dad would have loved a grand child...I hope he's watching over me.
It would be neat to have the same date but I really wish that baby catches up and grows strong.

Hugs to all!

HI Girls

Sorry I haven't been around much. I have been busy getting ready for vacation and doing some things around the house, paper work etc.

Val- I'm so sorry you have to go through this waiting game. I can only imagine what you are going through. I have been thinking of you and praying everything turns out ok. When is your next test?

SueQiwi- That is AWESOME news. I am so excited for you. I will be keeping my fingers crossed.

My next u/s is Thursday. I am hoping that everything is still going good.

Hope all is well.

Hey Everyone, sorry I haven't been writing much. Just haven't been on my computer much. The nausea is getting to me so I got some meds for it today. I have also been getting these killer headaches that wake me up from a sound sleep.

Renee- Way to go on the BFP. Keep the PMA up. I hope you get a great number tomorrow. I'll be praying for you.

SueQiwi - Your PUPO!!! Woohoo!! Finally the long wait is over and you have the fun 2ww to go through. :) I hope it flies by for you. Take it easy and don't eat too much pineapple.

toobee- Glad the zofran is working. I got a prescription today for it. I hope it helps. I can't tell if I am showing or not. I had a belly before so it is hard to tell. I did go buy some maternity clothes just because they are so much more comfortable. I hate anything tight on my belly.

val - I had also read that you need fat and protein in your diet when pregnant. Of course they don't mean a lot of fat and the good kind of fats like olive oil. Here is a link about fats in pregnancy http://www.babycenter.com/0_the-best-an ... cy_1694.bc I know what you mean about always hungry. I am like that even with the nausea. I am tired of trying to figure out what to eat!!

Well, went in for my second u/s. Everything is looking good. The baby measured 21 mm (about the size of an olive) and the heart rate was 159 bpm. We could hear the heart beat and it was so cool to hear. He measured 8w5d and so was only one day off. Here is he is and you can see an eye. Image
They released me today and I go in next week to see a regular doc. WooHoo!!

wow so much news.

Sueqiwi - hey - I'm going to second not going overboard on the pineapple. There is a good enzyme in there, but there is also some evidence that it can cause contractions and do the opposite. so I would lay off it for a couple of days, and then eat a normal portion here and there. Also go easy on mint tea, raspberry leaf tea, and all of that stuff that can also cause contractions. eat lots of protein and fat and take it easy. That's the most important thing. I'm so very happy to hear about those 8 cell winners. That's what I had this last time 2 8 cell good quality eggs. Now don't worry about the pineapple but relax a little.

I'm well. I have finished my progesterone shots. believe it or not, both DH and I were nervous to stop. I am still on prometrium suppositories, and will be through the first trimester but it's weird. I hated that shot (had welts on my but after weeks) but still.... another milestone.

turtles -- way to go! congratulations. this is wonderful. Handsome little squirrel you've got. Anyone else see a squirrel? (mine looked like goblins with google eyes or just a blur at that point.) ARe you in love already?

amanda - glad to see all is well. I totally get the food issue. It's like feeding and figuring out what to eat is a constant preoccupation

toobee - No. I am not following ALL the diet stuff. It's too much. I do write down what I eat, mostly to make sure I"m eating fiber and protein and such. And I am not limiting my diet, and won't until I am out of the first trimester.

My OB knows this book, and thinks she has people eat a little too much. she says If later on, you end up on bedrest, they will be limiting what you eat and not wanting you to gain, and eating everything under the sun will be hard.

so that is why I am trying to gain 10-12 this trimester and then I will follow what my doctor says. I thought that part in the book about gaining early w/ multiples made a lot of sense. Later I will try to slow down. but I actually do feel hungry every few hours. Partially it keeps the ill feelings at bay and partially I'm just getting a lot of weird cravings.

I'm trying to get protein in and calcium and fiber. I'm having trouble w/ dark veggies. I do eat salad though.

Blah blah blah. I also want to learn about preterm labor and learn all the signs. It has made me see that this is a more delicate condition than I knew (I thought, hey, twins are normal) and I probably would have been doing too much.

Turtles~ That is one gorgeous bean you have there! How proud you must be. YEAAAAHHHH... :D :D
The eating problem is the same for me. I eat so much that I also run out of ideas at the end of the day. I never ate yogurt or cheese before and now I do every day. I can't stand the idea of eating lunch meat and whole wheat bread. I used to eat that all the time and now never.
I snack on almonds, cereal (Quaker oatmeal squares), grapes, apples, peanut butter and crackers, whole wheat crackers, yogurt, peanuts. Those have been my favorites. Maybe it will give you some ideas. I already had my night snack at 9pm and I'm starting to be hungry again(9:55pm).
I tell DH that I get tired of eating. I seem to eat plenty of protein as well.
Thanks for the article on fats. I do eat all the healthy ones already and seem to eat plenty every day. So I guess I'm ok in that department. I had lost 2 lbs since the start of the stims and have just regained those 2 but not more.

Amanda~ Where are you going on vacation? Good luck with the US on Thursday and I know you will see your two gorgeous babies.
Thank you for thinking about me. It means a lot to have your support.
My next US is Oct.13th. My Re is at a seminar on Thurs and Fri. and won't see him until next Mon. It's a long time but it will give baby more time to grow and catch up.

Renee~ I hope those dates bring you happy news. It is tough to have dates like that match...what are the odds? I hope that your rising beta will replace the sad news of last year...if it ever gets erased....it might ease it. Things happen for a reason, always!
Best of luck tomorrow! I'm thinking about you a lot and cross my fingers it all turns out ok.

Have a great night!

Val -
You don't want to eat lunch meat anyway - or deli meat. It's a no no for pregnancy nowadays (listeria - a bacteria can be in it and cross the placenta) . They say you can microwave the meat first, but who wants to eat it then?
You could have a turkey sandwich if it was roast turkey. When I'm in a bind at the deli I just get a swiss cheese sandwich.

Here's my list of no no's:

caffeine
mint, or many herbal teas (yup- look this one up it surprised me)
deli meat
soft or unpasturized cheese or dairy products
High Mercury fish like lobster or swordfish (check out the AmericanPregnancyAssociation Website's fish list - it even includes how much tuna in a can you can eat by your body weight)
Mayonaise- you can't be sure how long it's been out or where it's been stored.
Hot dogs or other foods made with nitrates.
Raw honey (try agave syrup instead)
raw eggs (in caesar salad dressing etc.)
raw meat
raw fish.

Anyone got any others???
