Hows everyone?

Post by helenlouise »

Week 14 for me and countdown to next appointment and scan.

I've had a permanent muzzy headache for days now, but i think that is fairly common. Stomach feels more bloated than babies, but can feel a definite bump when laying down. Can't wait for it to grow and so i look properly pregnant and not just fat!

Hope everyones keeping ok,

helen :D

Helen, I can't believe you are 14 weeks already, it only seems like yesterday that you got your +++ve. Told you time goes quickly once you get the first scan out of the way.

I still think I just look fat - although dh assures me I look pg. I find myself explaining I'm pg thinking nobody will realise and people laugh and say yes we had noticed!

Your bump will creep up on you when you least expect it....you'll see!

helen, i have had some pretty bad headaches, i try not to take anything
for them but i normally have to give in.
Im only 3 wks behind you but already showing quite a bit not sure
if its the steroids im on which i will be stopping next week (cant
wait as having probs sleeping, one of the side effects).
My prob is trying to get clothes, i went shopping yesterday and
came away with nothing very depressed, i seem to be inbetween
none of my trousers now fit, and i just have one pair with elasticated
waist that i can wear and of course my jogging pants, im off
on holiday in 2wks time so was trying to look for some shorts.......
no chance, my sister in law suggest Hennes, so i will try there.

Hi folks

CAn I join the headache brigade - especially after trying to get my tyre replaced (no Nikola not my spare one!!!) and they got the wrong one - told me I needed reinforcing - cheeky gits and then shopping - feel very knackered and pulled. Am 14.5 today and still waiting for a bump explosion though my midwife is coming round tomorrow to measure me - I have these bump crises............... def in maternity clothes and a girl at ASda thought she was huge at 16 wks - I am bigger than her and she is wondering if hers are twin. Still some fat there though so not all hard but suppose I have to wait.
Take care all of you
Love

Hi Girls,

Just thought I would check in and say hello. Hope everyone is feeling well. I'm another one for the headache club I'm afraid, I've had a couple of real humdingers (which only affect the right side of my head and face for some bizarre reason!) and have had to give in and take paracetomol for which I didn't particularly want to do even though I know it is safe. My main problem at the moment is sleeping, I just can't get comfy and when I go to bed I get pains in my thighs. I have also started getting pains on my right hand side when I turn over from my left hand side when in bed. I'm trying not to worry about every little ache and pain but as you guys will know that's easier said than done! I guess I won't feel better until I've had my scan on 27th Feb (by which time I will be 15weeks and 1 day) and I know that everything is OK.

I too feel really blobby at the moment and my skin is terrible. People keep remarking on how big I am and I'm only having one baby! I have already shot up from a 34B bust to a 38C and from size 12 trousers to size 16!! Still I wouldn't swap it for the world!

Can all you gals who've already had their 12week scan tell me what I can expect to see. A girl in work who had her scan at 15wks said her baby was waving at her! Can you see a lot of detail?

Look forward to chatting with you all soon.

Take care

Love Julie xx

PS Is anybody else suffering from indigestion? I thought it was too early yet but I have really bad wind (burps thankfully and not the other end!)

12 weeks scan is great - they have grown so much since the 6 or 8 week one. You will see a proper baby, arms, legs, head and internal organs. Ask for a picture (if your clinic do this), we've kept all of ours. Then you can compare your 12 weeks scan with the 20 weeks scan and there is even more difference!!!

Hi there

I too am in the headache club. I have one every day and on top of that I get a migraine at least 3-4 times a week. Lovely stuff. My midwife told me to drink 3 litres of water every time a headache comes on. Yeah right, easier said than done when you have a baby jumping on your bladder.

The 12 week scan is amazing as you see so much more and it actually looks like a baby. I loved seeing my baby's profile for the first time.

Hi all
I Have not had any headaches recently but i have to wear my glasses most of time now and i think that is helping.

I have had to go and buy new clothes. I got a pair of jeans out of dorothy perkins and they are a bit big but more comfy than squeezing into regular jeans. They just have two bits of elastic at either side and of course they are about a foot to long but thats what happens when your a short arse. I also got another two pairs of trousers and three tops i can see a difference in my shape. I met a woman i used to work with and i told her my news and she said thats great i thought you were just getting fat.

Jules i too have those pains and the woman that did my scan told me that its natural because you are changing all the time so don't worry. I wake up everytime i move at night. At my scan you could see it waving at us and its legs were moving and it was bouncing up and down. I have not had my offical 12wk scan yet (2nd March) mines was just to check everything was alright.

Alison Next Directory have shorts with elastic waists and if your looking for skirts Dorothy perkins and some in the sale.

Is it alright to lie on your belly still or is it a good idea not too?

hi helen

I was told to lie on my left side. I doubt you'll be comfortable lying on your tummy for long. When I go and have my legs waxed now I can't even get on my tummy!!!! I can barely lie on my back for very long - what fun we have!!!

Your time is whizzing by, you are nearly 16 weeks now!!! Where does the time go......????

Helen

you won't be doing any damage if you do lie on your front - just makes me feel sick for too long so lie on either side - left or right and occasionally on my back when my sides hurt - oh what fun!
