ghost - estrace for a FET?

Hi there .. I am on Estrace with my first FET . Everyone on the board that is doing a FET seem to have starting with BCP and now are taking Lupron then after that i'll take Medrol and tetracycline and of course my PIO shots thru out.. is this a good protocol?
My protocol is nothing like theirs. Why??
i hope my RE is doing the best one for a FET
Could you please shed some light for me ?? thanks !!!!!

Everything you mentioned is fairly common. I'm not sure what you are comparing.

We start them on OCP (called BCP here) to time the cycle, then Lupron to down regulate, estradiol to build the lining, progesterone to mature the lining, then transfer. Any and all of those can be omitted depending on the protocol design (some do natural cycle FET, and rely on their own hormones rather than medications).

Of course, by "PIO shots thru out" you mean starting from about mid-cycle, right?

MY PROTOCOL IS ESTRACE EVERY DAY - THEN PIO STARTING MIDCYCLE THEN MEDROL THE WEEK OF THE TRANSFER.
THEY DONT HAVE ME ON BCP OR LUPRON. AND I WAS WONDERING WHY IT SEEMS EVERYONE ON THIS BOARD IS DOING BCP AND LUPRON.
I DONT SEE ANYONE TAKING ESTRACE.

Interesting - everybody on my August FET thread was on estradiol of some form, most of them Estrace. I used Vivelle patches.

My RE did not use BCP or Lupron for either of my FETs either. I'm nearly 8 weeks BFP so it was certainly a good protocol for me! It looks like you are on the same exact protocol I was (except for the form of estradiol). I also used PIO and Medrol.

Hi, Yes I was put on estrace for my FET too. I think when you do a hormone replacement cycle they put you on it. I think the lupron and the BCP are for natural cycle (people on a more regualar cycle).. i hope that helps

here, here! I did two FET (the first one failed, and the second one resulted in this little one I'm carrying right now), and with none of them I took BCP. My protocol was so simple (comparing to the fresh cycle). Basically it was estrace (at some point they also put me on estradiol patches because my levels were on the low side), then a supresant for about 4 days so I would not ovulate, and then the PIO (and follic acid), that was it!

Your protocol sounds exactly like mine -- and it worked for me!!!!

I did estrace, then medrol/antibiotics five days before transfer and Progesterone supps as well. So easy compared to a fresh.
And it worked!!!!

Jenny34 you used the progestrone supp. and it worked ?? interesting... they have me using the PIO shots and i really really really hate them . they hurt me alot... i wonder if i could ask to use the supp too.??

Multiple publications report the vaginal progesterone (suppositories or gels) work as well as the shots. There is also an effervescent vaginal tablet.

They can supplement these with oral pills.

thanks Ghost. I wonder if I could just request them...???? I'm gonna try it... my FET hopefully is scheduled around the 21st so I'll be starting my PIO very soon.. thanks for the input.

Is estrace and estradiol same thing? I am on fresh cycle and taking now after bwu today i was told to start 8mg until next lab appt. i dont know much about fet whats the difference (why take it before transfer).
just curious.

Estrace is the commercial name for one of the many estradiol supplements on the market.

Estradiol builds the endometrium (the "lining") during the follicular phase. After about 10 days or so of development, progesterone starts it on the path to becoming receptive.
