Hi--it's me again.
I thought I'd start our own thread to keep up with each other.

My beta is the 16th but I plan on testing a few days before then just so I am not taken by surprise on beta day.

I goto the Fair Oaks office and see Dr. Greenhouse---I like him alot.

Like I said this is my 2nd IVF cycle soing SR.
And unfortunately they have the right to terminate the SR contract at any time if they feel you are no longer a 'good risk' for them. You still get 100% back. Just like we are able to opt out at any time too and get our money back.

Dr. G told me after my first failed cycle that they normally re-evaluate the SR thing after 3 failed cycles.

I am a slow responder to meds so if costs me between 4-5000 for each cycle so we are quickly becoming broke! If this cycle fails we will wait until January to try again.

As far as symtoms go--I am a little crampy but I had that with my failed cycle so who knows. My boobies are a bit tender but not too mcuh---they are worse at night for some reason.

Sorry to ramble----lol.
How are you doing? How many did you put back?
We put back the only 3 that fertilized this cycle and they were definitely sub-par----1-5 cell and 2- 4 celled.

Hi. I also go to SG in annandale with Dr Greenhouse and also on the shared risk. I have gone thru 3 IUIs and 2 iVFs all BFNs. I have just gone through an FET transfer on Friday with one embryo, which surprisingly made it beautifully out of the thaw. Keeping my fingers cross for a BFP. I go in for my beta on 10/15. I plan to test that morning so no surprises. Keep me posted on yours. Baby dust to you!

Detrac, Thanks for creating this thread! I've been MIA the past couple of days b/c of family visiting(which is always fun when the refrigerater is full of IVF meds)...I had to find places to hide everything:)

I was actually referred to Dr. Greenhouse by my OB but ended up with Dr. Garde, who also seems to have great credentials. And I totally hear you on the meds...we got the shock of our life when we had to pay out of pocket for IVF#2!

The lack of any symptoms even though I feel like I'm looking for them under a microscope has got me a feeling like it'll never happen:( Also (now added to my signature) IVF#1 we had retrieved 13, 7 fertilized, and 4 were 8cells on day 3, so they pushed us out to a 5day ET and transferred the 2 best looking ones which were a Grade2BB and a Morula, which from my understanding are not great on a day 5. None of the others made it to freezing. I didn't really have any symptoms and beta was a BFN.

So, hearing people talk about how 5 day is usually better than a 3 day, I've been a bit skeptical about IVF#2 to begin with. This time 10 eggs retrieved, 5 fertilized, 2 best transferred on day 3 - an 8-cell & a 5-cell and again, none made it to freezing.

Sorry for the long post and if you're still wondering about anything ask away:) I must say having the support of others here definitely helps cut my insanity about this whole process down a lot:)!

Hey Bubbles--

How's it going??
Have you tested??

I have and am sorry to say that this cycle too is a bust for me---I am so sad. I really don't even feel like trying again at the moment.

Best of luck to you!!!

dretrac,

Pleeeeease do not give up hope! It's not official until the 16th for you and 17th for me. I haven't tested but started feeling every single AF symptom today(it would be 28 day since ER) which means if I wasn't on meds I'd prob get my AF right around now(Progesterone kept it away last cycle too), so sent DH out to pick me up a good bottle of wine:) Haven't touched alcohol or caffiene since news of the last BFN, but am debating having a tiny lil' glass since nothing else seems to be calming me down.

I must've read every forum on the www about embryo quality, symptoms and testing in the 2ww, and there are so many ppl that get negative HPT's even after their BFP beta's...so seriously try to keep your hopes up. I'm sure you may have already done research on this, but also saw a decent # of women saying they got preggers from 4, 5, 6 cell embryos. Also, I read a thread on a different forum where some women went through 6, 7 and even 15 IVF's before getting their BFP's...and now have their babies to show for it!:) We will get through this and have our BFP and happy news:) soon...if not this cycle then the next!

You are so sweet!!

I know I will be trying again if they don't kick me out of shared risk.

My tests have been negative everyday for 5 days, I know I am out.
And once the beta confirms it, I am going out for sushi and wine  --it is my way to rebel.

Detrac-

Hi there - I'm finally back. So Beta (as expected) turned out to be a BFN for IVF#2 on 10/17. I was really down and out as you can imagine, but had a fun weekend with the friends once I finally got myself up and going.

Debating if we might take a month break before IVF#3, since I've heard/read it has helped others to do so. Also, I'm starting a new job next week and want to be settled and know what to expect before I jump into another round.

How are things w/ you?!

Sorry to hear about your failed cycle. Mine failed as well.

We were going to wait til after Jan to try again but decided to go ahead and try 1 more time before the year is out.

I have my official follow up tomorrow morning and I am curious to see if Dr. Greenhouse changes my protocol or meds at all.

Hello again Detrac,
Well I'm back on the board and now that I know my new job would most likely allow me the time to be able to go through IVF, I'm just waiting for AF to start and then go on BCP's. How've you been? It's been about 3 weeks since I've been on the boards...Did Dr. Greenhouse change your med protocol? Are you going through IVF# 2 or 3? Hope things are going well for you!

Hey Bubbles--

Well we decided to go ahead with #3 now----yes, number flippin' 3!!

He change my protocol a little no antagon this time and no BCP either.
I began Lupron 6 days ago so just waiting on AF now to begin the rollercoaster. I never dreamed in a million yrs that I would be doing IVF #3....thank goodness for shared risk although buying the meds have proven to be VERY expensive for us.

Good Luck to you---keep me posted
