Miss all of you!!!

Cocoa, You are doing fantastic...working full time, new man in your life, recovered from all of the BS that happened during/after pregnancy...not to mention THIN. Sniff sniff...I have lots of weight to lose...at least I'm tall and sometimes can hide it...

I have a bad memory, get little done during the day, and my babies who sleep through the night have decided to wake at 5 a.m. this week from a combo of teething/hunger. Boy I hope that stops and they get back to sleeping till 7 or I"ll have to go to bed at 10:00. Like that's going to happen! My body clock is a NIGHT OWL.

Yes, my kids get welts from bug bites. Hate it.
6 mos old yesterday...we went out to celebrate (sans babies).
On oatmeal and rice cereal and introduced sweet potatoes today. THEY LOVED IT...can't wait to get high chairs.

Rolling. talking. smiling. Both babies have really even, mellow personalities and yes, they notice one another and laugh alot! It is fun.

OK...no time...
Hired an au pair, hope she gets her visa so she can arrive Nov. 7. I need help, as this is getting harder the more the babies get mobile/sqiggly/and eat solids ... I can't do it alone.

Love to all... gotta go.

Hi everyone,

Ellie is getting so heavy now,she is now over 13lbs, we went to watch DH in the Great North Run yesterday and today I can hardly move my arm or neck, :( I think its from carrying Ellie for such a long time, we did have the pushchair with us, but I didn't want to miss DH go past....but guess what..I didn't notice him until I saw the back of his t-shirt. :? Ellie made a little banner saying "go daddy GO" How clever of her, I only helped her a little bit!

She rolled for the 1st time today, she looked so pleased with herself.

I've been feeding her on baby rice for the last week, tonight I added a bit of mushed apple, so far so good, but oh those nappies are starting to smell uurgh!

We were away on holiday in Scotland last week, it was NOT good, we were in a caravan, which was damp and cold, we came back home early! :x

I love my post baby body, yes I could do with losing around 15lb, but I love the softness of my tummy, knowing my precious DD lived there for an endless 9 1/2 months! I am still partly B/F, but I do think it is starting to disappear, great supply in the morning...but one good thing is no more leaking boobs when I am walking around the town!

I don't know yet if we will go back for another round of IVF, we still have 2 embryos frozen, partly I think I should just be grateful for my miracle and how would I cope if BOTH embryos took next time, but must admit, I already miss those early baby stages and believe it or not I miss being pregnant. But, each new stage with Ellie is bringing more smiles and laughter to our home, I can't truly remember how we filled our lives before she came.

Keep well ladies

Mandy

Miley will be 4 months on the 11th. She started to roll over from her back to her tummy (she likes to get the hard stuff out of the way first lol) but she gets so mad when she can't roll back over. She has a bad temper she will scream so hard her face turns red and it looks like she's not breathing!! My son never did anything like that must be the girl in her!! She doesn't have to go to rehab every week now just a follow up at the end of the month. We are about to go for 4 month old shots. Any advice?? Any fever's or anything?? It has been so long with my son I don't remember. Going to try this not sure if it will work to put a link for a pic.

Lovely pic CarolinaGirl!!

Quick question for you all.... did anyone have a C section? Mine was 6 months ago and recently my tummy has been quite tender and has really been swelling up quite worryingly. Anyone else had any problems?

Sorry so short, not feeling too clever :(

I had a c-section 6 months ago...
it is more of a jelly belly, and it bums me out.
BUT I am pretty numb near the incision/tummy area...
I see my OB/GYN on Monday for my annual.

Are you in pain???? If you are, call your OB...no need to be in pain!!!

g'luck
Q on solids:
I've started the oatmeal and veggies.
our schedule now is erratic...still 5 feedings each day (bottles, and solids around 3 times)...but the sleep schedule is way off...

Any tips? I think this is just an adjutment period...
xxoo

Hello,
I had a C section as well, my tummy is pretty much back to normal, just a little bump over the scar on the left, but my OB said that it is just some tissue and it should go away. She also said to give it a year for the complete recovery and to use Mederma gel for the scar.
Woodcliff, why is the sleep schedule off?
As far as solids go, i started Tesa on rice cereal at 3. 5 months, she didn't like the taste , so i switched her to oatmeal and i started on fruit and vegetables at 4 months. At first, feeding schedule was hard to keep track on, but now it is all in order. Formular intake has gone down though.
Carolina, you have such a beautiful baby!!!!

Thanks everyone! I think I'll give it a few days and see how I am. I have been numb around the scar up until recently, maybe it's just part of the healing process....

Hi Everyone,

RebeccaJ, the U.S. should give longer maternity times. Oh well, it sounds like you are glad to be back in the U.K?

I took Stephie off all solids because she started waking constantly. As soon as I took her off she slept through the night. Will start her again in a few days. She has 3 more weeks before it is required.

She loves her Jumperoo.

She rolls all over the room. Not crawling though. She has figured that rolling will get her pretty much anywhere.

Bye for now. Life has gotten so busy.

OK Ladies... my THIRD attempt to send you a message - I keep hitting some button and my browser jumps to Yahoo... Ugh!!!

So... I am good but been a little anxious - can't exactly identify where its coming from but let's just say - I have twins! :-) so I will chalk it up to that...

So, been getting baptism preparations ready for their baptism next Sunday. I am making centerpieces and name tags. I finished the CD for the ongoing slideshow (have to bring my computer for it - they don't have a screen). I still have some preparations but its on target. The babies will be wearing "made in Ireland" outfits and HE is not wearing a gown not because I didn't want that but because we found a great one for him - a jumper of sorts.

So I am no longer seeing this guy. He turned out to be a controlling jerk. He questioned my parenting with my older son!!! and it was MEAN what he said AND he said it in anger - my son heard him too and was very hurt  Like HE knows ANYTHING about autism  His comment implied my son is an imbacile and my son's IQ I am dead sure is higher than his... Anyway, he was totally out of line trying to control me and the whole day - he even got angry at my dog defending his food against his (the jerk's) dog and dragged him through the house and kicked him outside - NO ONE manhandles an animal anywhere NEAR ME! My dog is so sweet and wouldn't hurt a fly (well, maybe a fly  ). Anyway, my dog is 45lbs and his dog is 95lbs so if a fight DID ensue (which it never would have - they are both nice dogs) whose dog would lose? Duh.... :x

About my babies... well, as is normal at this age SHE grabs anything she can get her little hands on and "tastes" it - no matter what it is... HE, however, grabs anything and EXAMINES it - for a lengthy time too... he is so absolutely adorable. I think he's going to do/be something that takes great concentration. They are both drooling like faucets but I don't feel any teeth breaking through yet. With my older son his bottom teeth just broke through at 5 months. I cannot believe our babies are SIX MONTHS OLD!!! on average. It seemed like we were pregnant forever and now it seems like just yesterday they were born! I actually saw video footage yesterday of me in the NICU with my older son and the babies when they were one day old and I totally do not remember making that video - I don't remember being in the NICU with my older son at all! Weird huh?

I am not having tenderness with my c-sec scar - if you have any pain or tenderness at all at this point you should see your doctor. My scar is numb and when it feels itchy I can't satisfy the itch with a scratch - hate it. It also sometimes feel weakened in that area when I try to move my bowels. But that is only when I have to really use my muscles (I know...TMI - sorry). I finally saw a gyn last week and he said everything seems fine so I am less concerned now. I go for my one year overdue mammogram in early Nov so I will get it all done... been making all my doctor appts this fall. I love the fall. I don't think I am doing Halloween costumes - the babies are really too young. Its too bad but we don't really have a lot of kids around here for Halloween - don't know why, its a close neighborhood. I may take the babies to the mall IF my friend winds up getting them costumes. I like all the holidays and I thought this year I would have someone to spend them with but as usual I will be alone with my kids. I am not willing to travel with them this year. They should be in their own home for their first holiday's. That's just how I feel about it...

OK, the babies are sleeping so I am going to get dressed. When my son gets back from school we have to get haircuts...

Hi Cocoa:

Sorry to hear about your relationship but you are right not to tolerate that behavior. Better to catch it now then later. Protect those kids! What a good Mom you are.

Hi all...Cocoa, hope you are well. You sure sound fine! Anxiety, yes, so much to worry about with babies...

OK, my daughter 'grew' two lower teeth last night...she bit on my finger yesterday, it hurt, but I did not see teeth...she woke at 3:30 am (gave both of them bottles, which they haven't needed since 7 weeks at that hour!) and the sitter just came in to tell me baby girl has teeth...unbelieveable...

My son is the drama king so I'm sure I'll know when HE cuts teeth! But he is a laid back cutie most of the time...and she babbles and babbles and babbles.

All is well...can't wait for the au pair to arrive. This is so much work, now that they are mobile and eating solids.

OOOO...I gave them meat yesterday and they loved it (using bottled baby food, haven't made it myself yet, if ever)...but am I not supposed to give them meat until they are 8 months old? I'm confused...

as ever

Wow, our first teeth!! Well done woodcliff! My boys are still toothless at 6 months and their dribbling and red cheeks have stopped. They are still sleeping really well..maybe this is the calm before the storm!

I've read that you can give white meat and fish from about 6 months. I'm just giving them fruit and veg at the moment. I make my own now as the little jars work out quite expensive when you see how much they get through! Plus I know there is absolutely nothing bad going into it and it's all fresh when I make it. Their favourites at the moment are pea and potato, and they also like the taste of parsnip. And they LOVE apple and cinnamon!

They STILL can't roll over! What is wrong with them!?!? No I'm not the least bit concerned, I'm sure it's just because they prefer to stand. Like ALL the time. And their "walking" is coming on a treat. Not only do they hold their own weight, but they both walk forwards now with me holding only their hands! They both know they are doing something clever because they look very pleased with themselves!!

Cocoa sorry to hear about your fella....he sounds like a right tosser as we say here in the uk...

Bye for now,

Hayley xx
