Hey All
Adjec - good luck for the transfer XXXXX (thats lots of crossed bits for you!) clinic here recommends drinking a litre of water about an hour before the transfer - full bladder helps with the U/S. How did the fertilization go - do you know how many your having transferred?

Hi Bell -02 - good luck with round 3 :) third time lucky they say! I know what you mean about just needing to keep going - its almost impossible to slow down and stop - after my m/c earlier this year I decided to take a few months out - but actually spent the whole time just waiting to start up again!

Hi Karen - I think your right - you kind of just get so used to it being there all the time - you don't realize how much it is part of you and just drains you. Its like the old black shadow friend that you hate but that you can't get rid off! Have been trying to take some time out for excersize - part of the problem is probably that am so lazy these days that I don't get to work out all the stress with a good run a few times a week. Walking clears the head.

4th Try - I haven't had any allergies (am on beuseralin) but find that my stomach itches like hell for a few hours after injecting - and is covered in heaps of red blotches when I take a bath. Joyful.

Hope your all well - hope so much that we all get PG through this cycle!!

Best

December IVf.

Post by natashamom »

Hi all,

Well going for IVF December,so excited!

We did IUI with meds 4 years ago but had no luck.

Hoping for success this time around.

Since here,in AZ,no coverage at all beside meds,so our cost is 4000 alltogether.

Anyone had gel or vaginal supositories instead of progesterone shots and had success?...

Good luck to all,

Natasha.

hi natasha and welcome. good luck withyour cycle this dec...and yes i got pregnant last time after using progesterone suppositories instead of shots. i stopped them after my 7wk ultrasound when a heartbeat was seen....they may handle this differently this time if i get BFP again.

anyways, welcome to our board. what's your protocal like? are you suppressing first with bcps/lupron? we don't have coverage either, total cost 6500$ for a cycle with ICSI, our meds have been covered to this point, but that will run out soon. that part is just extra depressing on top of all the emotional stress and fear of never birthing a child
look forward to getting to know you,
karen

Post by natashamom »

Hi,

yes,I`ll be getting Lupron,I know they`re not to bad but the progesterone is terrible with its huge needles,yuk!...

I`m 46(going on 26!),hubby is 52,we got married 5 years ago this January 9th!

We`re craving for a baby/ies.

I do have 2 kids, one daughter who is 21 and lives in France with my aprents and my son who is 11 and lives with me.

Hubby too,has 3 older kids.

We did IUI with meds 4 years ago with no luck.

I had a surgery to remoce a big cyst on my ovary last Wed` and doc found lots of scar tissues from previous surgeries so now laying down all day with fever on and off, will call my doc tomorrow morning.

So when is your ivf?

Where are you from?

Write soon!

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Adjec Sorry to hear you still aren't feeling well. Hope your discomfort is better now and the ET is successful! I can totally relate on having no insurance coverage. None of my meds have been covered the past 3 years, and I can only guess that we've spent nearly $15K on meds alone, probably more. The one cycle of IVF we're getting ready to try was $12K. It's one of those things that when you want something badly enough, you just figure out a way.

babyhope1 Glad you can get started in a couple of weeks! And also good to hear that your surgery went well. Hope you continue to have some R&R so you are completely healed for your upcoming cycle.

Karen Now that's a good sign with the fortune cookie. It sounds like you have a good group of friends you can vent to if you are down, and of course this board has been really helpful to me so far. None of my friends have had the fertility issues and although they try to be there for me, I think it's hard for them to relate sometimes. I also wish we could all get together somehow and share our stories face to face, but am appreciative we have this way to support one another.

Johnson1902 Hello, glad to see you joined. It sounds like we are close in our timelines. I started stims 10/10. I'm not sure about the baby aspirin but have heard it mentioned a couple of times on this board and others.

sloan88 So it sounds like you got the go ahead? I've had that happen before and RE explained his reason for holding off is so the follie doesn't absorb some of the meds that the new ones need to develop. Either way, I guess it's not an issue if you started over the weekend. Are you using Follistim?

Much hope That's so exciting you will have news from your donor soon! I hope she grows tons of follies for you. :D And that would be a wonderful b-day gift for your DH. Keep us posted!

Hello to everyone else. Glad we are all here for each other.

Kas101: My surgery was ok. There was a lot more pain than people said there should have been. It's been a slow process getting back on my feet. Wow, I mean, you girls act like this was no big deal........IT WAS SUCH A BIG DEAL  . The anesthetic got me so sick that I was throwing up a few hours after surgery. Yeah, try that after having parts of your body taken out. OUCH!!

Anyway, I'm a little slow on my feet but I'm back to work for probably only a half day today if I can help it.

I hope all is well with everyone else. :)

I will be calling my RE next Monday to schedule an appointment to get my med schedule and timeline for IVF Cycle.

I will keep everyone updated. Thanks for thinking of me!!

Yeah! ET was done this morning. Drinking all the water was not fun, but I survived. We ended up transfering one. Given we don't really have any IF issues except my husband's vasectomy, and my age (I'm 30), AND that we really don't want twins...we decided that one was safest. We had really good quality embies and the dr really thinks we'll have a BFP! So...keep your fingers crossed for me! I'm just sitting at home doing the lay in bed and keeping my feet up routine! I just feel so positive right now...I'm just...happy. I'm definitely doing lots of visualization of my little embie implanting! I so hope I'm the first BFP of the group! Baby dust to all!

Oh..and I have been on the suppositories...not shots. I'm thrilled to not be doing shots!

ajdec - congrats on transfer. I am sending tons of baby dust your way!!! Two more weeks and you will start off our BFP's - yeah!!!

gina1234 - I cant speak for everyone, but I am new to this process and I just get to know these ladies from postings. Sometimes I dont have much to say so I just read up on everyone and then get off the web for the day. I find that alot of us are going thru the same emotions and trying times so it helps to have someone to vent to. We just get to know each other that way. I know others have cycled together before so they know each other more than other. I hope that answers you question.

I am just waiting for AF to appear (suppose to be on Saturday) so I can call the doctor and see what he says - it is getting close!!!

Hi guys,
Last day of BCP is today. For some reason, I'm really nervous. I have butterflies in my stomach. I got my meds on Saturday and I had to get them from 2 different pharmacies so I really hope I have everything I need! My DH & I are going to our first support group tonight. I guess I'm nervous about that too. Starting estrace tomorrow for 4 days and then hopefully stims start on Saturday. Hope you are all doing well today!
