Jen,

I am sure that your hubby was excited to feel the baby move. My hubby has yet to catch them. They both kick and punch for mommy only. :D ...for now anyway.

Well, we will be having C-sections together. I probably will have mine mid November. My Ob is taking my cerclage out during week 34.

Bed rest has been wonderful. I get a lot of me time, which will be slim to none after the babies get here. Since my bed rest is modified, I can still get up and do some things. I don't do much though. My routine is usually from the bed to the recliner then to the sofa and then back to the recliner with potty and food breaks in between. I would recommend bed rest to all mother to be's. I feel so much better that I am not stressing over work or trying to cook meals everyday or cleaning house...poor hubby. I will be out of work for the duration of the pregnancy and I am perfectly fine with that.

Have fun looking for your glider. I added one to my registry for the room for the babies. Let us know which glider you finally choose. :D

How is everyone else doing?

Hi Ladies,
Sounds like everyone is doing well.
Carolina Girl, can you tell me more about your bed rest? I just got past 24 weeks and am self imposing moderate bed rest now that my kids are going back to school (tomorrow!). I will still have my 4 year old by myself two days a week so those will be the days I am a little more active. Everything I read seems to point to bedrest prolonging the pregnancy. I have a cerclage too (placed at 13.5 weeks) and it seems to be holding fine (fingers crossed). I am at 4 with some cervix above the cerclage. I will get mine out at 34 weeks, too. Have you heard much about going right into labor after cerclage removed versus scar tissue preventing labor? I am so confused about all of this. I just dont know what to expect, but then again...I guess none of us do!
I am suprised that I dont feel my twins move more. I get kicks here and there but they arent as crazy as I was expecting.
Lastly, are you having trouble sleeping? I am usually so tired that I fall asleep but halfway thru the night I am WIDE awake. It is so annoying!
Anyway, hope to hear form everyone soon!!!

Hi All

Glad to hear everyone's doing well. I was just wondering if anyone was considering having a 4d scan. I spoke to a friend at the weekend who had one recently and said it was fantastic. I'm quite tempted. Love VIcky

Sara,

I am glad that things are going well for you. We saw my Ob today for our 24 week scan. The babies looked great. They are a pound and a half now with both heads at the cervix. Of course, their position means nothing right now. My modified bed rest is working pretty good on the cervix. My cervical length has increased since bed rest. My Ob and high risk doctor both recommended bed rest because of history of a previous loss, the pressure that started around 17 weeks and ended with cervical funneling w/ a shortened cervix and an immediate cerclage. My Ob indicated that there was no proven science that bed rest would prevent pre-term labor, but she wanted to eliminate as many factors as possible. One of the main factors was stress from work. My high risk doctor agreed and asked that I keep it quiet down there for the duration of the pregnancy, no house work, no excersizing, and no working outside of the home. My high risk doctor strongly encouraged staying home and kicking back. My Ob agreed, but she didn't want me in bed 24/7 because of the potential to develop blood clots. So, I move from room to room upstairs. I only use my stairs on days that I have appointments with my doctors and my hubby drives me. I only shop on the internet these days.

Based on my discussion with my doctor today, we will most likely not take the cerclage out at 34 weeks as I thought that we were going to due to the potential of irritating the cervix which can trigger pre-term labor immediately. We hope to take the cerclage out at the time of the c-section at possibly 37-38 weeks if we make it until then, hopefully we will.

Trouble sleeping-I have restless legs at night, but I am only have issues on days that I have had a nap earlier in the day. So, the nap intereferes with my sleeping at night. I rest a lot thoughout the day, but I do not sleep during the day any longer. That may change as my babies get bigger, but for now the key for me is no napping during the day.

Hey Ladies

Just checking in to see how everyone is feeling.

This pregnancy is kicking my butt. I'm having horrible upper and lower back pain. Finally scheduled a massage for this Saturday which I'm hoping will help me feel better. The pain is so bad that I can't put a lot of pressure on my left foot by the end of the day. It's frustrating. The pain shoots right up my back.

Glucose test is this Thursday.

We finally started on the nursery last weekend. YAY!

I hope everyone is feeling OK.

Hi Heather,
Thanks for updating our board! I am good at reading all the boards but I never post!
I am sorry you are having back pain. I had it really bad my last preg and I have to say massage worked wonders. I have been splurging this preg even though my back pain for some reason is not as bad (?!). It feels so good at this point in the preg to have someone rubbing me! I feel so big!
Everything good here. I am 28 plus weeks right now. I go back to my peri on Oct 10 bc one of my twins is smaller than she should be. I am hoping she has a major growth spurt bc they want to induce me if she is not gettting enough from the placenta. I am really hoping to make it to 34-36 weeks so I can nurse after they are born.
Hwo is everyone else around here?

Sara
Hopefully little twin is growing and they won't have to induce. What do they estimate the twins weight to be right now? Are you going in every two weeks? Fingers crosses that everything's OK.

Karen - Have fun at your baby showers! Glad you're feeling good. I had a massage last week which made me feel a ton better. I have one scheduled now for every two weeks until the baby is here.

I'm on my feet all the time. My 2yo keeps me super busy. We are on the go all the time. I've been making more of an effort to rest during the day. When she naps I rest. Screw the house work!! :)

I past my glucose test. I can still eat Snickers & banana bread. YAY!! Anyone having strange cravings?

Awesome Heather! I am glad that you are feeling better. I bet that massage is wonderful... :D

I have not had any strange cravings. At times I have to think long and hard at what I would like to eat.

I hope that everyone is well.

Hi Ladies!
Hope everyone is hanging in there. We are getting close!
I am going to my specialist in Denver today. I always get nervous that they are going to make me stay in Denver (I am almost 31 weeks and getting close...). I really dont want to be away from my kids or in the hospital. It is hard to not wish this time away. I am a planner and dont do well with this uncertainty. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Sending you all great baby vibes!

Sara - How was your visit with the specialist on Friday?

I was in the ER L&D on Saturday night having contractions. They were every 6 minutes for 2 hours and then went away. I'm not dilated but I am 50% effaced. I was told to rest, rest, rest. Not bed rest but stay off my feet as much as possible. I have a follow up appointment with my OB today at 4pm. Hopefully everything still looks OK. I'm only at 31 weeks. It's not easy resting with a 2yo at home. I'm still having contractions. I had them ealier today every 11 minutes for a couple of hours. Fingers crossed that this little baby boy stays in for at least five more weeks.

How is everyone doing?

Hi Heather!
Thanks for asking! The specialist appt was good. I am also having a lot of contractions at 31 weeks. They say to call when you get more than 4 in an hour, but my cervix doesnt seem to be changing (I have a cerclage placed and I am pretty sure I would be in agony if I was contracting against it) so I havent gone to the hosp (yet!).
The peri thinks I will be good until 36 weeks (fingers crossed) so I have a scheduled induction at 36 weeks (Nov 17). It is nice to at least know I have a date.
How do you feel about having a baby at 31, 32, 33 weeks? I go back and forth from thinking the babies will be ok to being terrified they will be in the NICU for a long time. My other two kids were born full term (38 weeks) with no complications so I dont really know anything about it...
I am soure it is so difficult to be "resting" with a 2 year old! LOL! They dont rest! I am so tired after having my four year old for the day, I go right to the couch when my husband gets home!
How is everyone else on this board? Feeling ok? I read all the other boards and it is almost our time!!
