Questions to preggo ladies abt discharge and blood in 2nd tr

Post by AMAZU »

Hi,
I am in my 16th week and lately I have noticed that the white discharge has become little thick than usual mostly in the morning. Today I noticed little blood in it. Though after that whenever I went to the toilet it was just watery discharge. Since last time I started spotting and cramping during this time and had a miscarriage, I am scared. Though I am not cramping, but I don't know why this blood as I am not doing anything stressful or lifting anything heavy. Kindly give some advice!
Annie

you are supposed to call your OB if you notice any change in discharge or blood. Its better to have them check you and everything be fine than to risk not getting checked.

Hey Annie

I am so sorry for the experience you've had.

I am also having white thickish discharge, but very little and I ahven't noticed when does it happen. (sry tmi) But I have read this white discharge is normal.

Hope everything is fine with you!! Thinking abt you.

Hi Annie,

I don't have an answer either, but just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about you and sending you lots of positive thoughts. I'm glad you called your doctor, that's what I would have done. Please let us know how everything goes. HUGS.

Hi Amazu,

I just wanted to let you know that IVFers are more likely to bleed a little, just like you did, during their pregnancies. We are stimulated so much that we develop tons of capillaries that other women who become pregnant naturally develop less. I also had bleeding, that ranged from pinkish to red during two weeks. All my ultrasounds were normal. the bleeding came from my cervix. Have your doctor check your cervix and vagina walls, because the bleeding could simply come from there. Next time I see the docs at the fertility clinic, I'll slap them behind the head; none of them had the idea to check my cervix. My new ob-gyn saw it right away; it's really easy to make my cervix bleed. Changes NOTHING for the pregnancy, just gives me little scares here and there.

I know what it is to have your body play tricks on you. My harmless bleeding happened right, to the day, at the stage my miscarriage began during my last pregnancy. Even if this looks like a nasty replay of what happened in the past, do remember that each pregnancy is a new and different story.

I hope your doc can reassure you soon! Take care,

Sophie :D

Hi Ladies,
Thanx for your kind words and support. Since I did not want to take any chance, I went to see my dr yesterday. It seems I have yeast infection which caused little irritation and blood. She gave me med for a week and called a week later for followup. She wanted to check for preterm labour which I couldn't understand. Can yeast infection cause preterm labour? She has sent the specimen for culture too. Though from pelvic exam the cervix looked fine and thick closed but she will check again on followup. I was really scared but after finding the reason we are little relieved.
