What to do while waiting for next cycle? IVF

Post by IndieBlue »

I did a cycle in February 08 (well, transfer was actually in June) but I was anemic and so they started me out on Repliva, Prenatal's...etc in the beginning. So now that I'm waiting for the 'right' time to do the second cycle (first ended with a BFN, although I did have a positive HPT on days 5-7 at home)...what should I be doing?

I'm taking a prenatal every other day until I can build up a stomach for them, and also taking an Omega pill that came with the One a Day Prenatals I purchased. I'm taking a Pro-biotic as well, Culturelle, once a day. Trying to eat better...although that's going to take more work LOL And I've continued to walk 15 miles a week...even though I've read that really strenuous workouts can hinder that BFP so I'm laying off the running and such...hope that walking is still okay.

So what else? I really really want to be healthy before I begin but I also know that some of it's still just luck of the draw.....so I don't want to go overboard LOL

Hi Indie - we were on the same message strings for a while back over the summer. I lost my twins at 19 weeks, so we are back to the drawing board as well. We are going to do FET starting in Febuary '09, so I am very interested to see the responses you get to your question. I hope you are doing well, and best of luck to you with your next cycle.

Thanks everyone :) And yes Baylor...I remember you, I posted my condolences on the other thread you had :( I'm so sad that it turned out that way for you, but glad you had frosties to carry on.

I plan on starting soon....but still, trying to make sure everything is in perfect (or nearly perfect) condition to help with implantation. I was 30 pounds lighter when I had my son and 14 years younger...so a lot has changed that I have no control over (age, normal body wear and tear LOL, slower metabolism, stress levels...etc).

I was going to start up Weight Watchers to see if I could get some of those extra pounds off, but on WW I always felt like I was starving and deprived so I think that would actually add stress to this situation :) I'm happy with my size, and still within the 'normal' weight range....still it makes me wonder if losing that weight would help in any way.

I need to work on decreasing my fatty foods as well, my cholesterol came back at 205 (triglycerides) so something that I definitely need to work on....blood pressure seems to be low/normal and nothing else is showing up on a normal physical that concerns me.

Oh well, guess I'll do what I can and then move on to the next cycle...knowing that I did just that (all I can).

Thanks again for the insight.
