hi ladies...
i took DH on a mini trip to the beach this weekend...we had a great time...morning and evening strolls on the beach, flying kites, eating fresh seafood, and some pool action. No nipple exposure tho :D :D I actually sat in a hot soaking tub one night, but got an email from parents.com about dangers of hot tubing...i hope all is well, God willing, things will be ok with our babies...

Can't wait until thursday for the u/s...will keep u in touch.
Esperanza: ur calcium diet sounds really good...i'll try to get more thru tasty milkshakes, maybe even broccoli...

how was everyone's weekend?

Hi babyloves, your trip sounds wonderful. I'm glad you and dh had a chance to do something fun with each other. DH and I are planning a trip for our thanksgiving break. We just moved to New Mexico, so we want to explore the state, you've just given me some inspiration!

How are the rest of the mommies-to-be doing? Sending you all lots of love.

Dear March mommies,
Hows everybody? I had a some thick discharge with stains in it when I went to restroom on tue. I was scared to death and talked to my dr. Though she told me since I was not cramping and bleeding, my baby is fine. But she wanted to check me for infection as well as cervical irritation. When I went yesterday, she did a pelvic exam and suspected yeast infection. She sent the specimen for culture. She checked the cervix for preterm labor but everything was fine, thank god! I have to take med for a week and go for followup where she will again check my cervix. Can yeast infection cause preterm labor? Have you heard of such thing? Anyways, I am little relieved now.

Babyloves- I am glad that you had a nice time on beach. You have some time to relax and enjoy before you join work. That is good but don't worn yourself out at work as it becomes too stressful and with twins you should be careful.
Esperanza - Where did you stay before NM? I hope you have nice vacation and sightseeing. We are also planning to take a vacation in dec. if everything seems to be fine.
Sonu - Thanx for checking on me. I hope the test you have tomorrow be absolutely fine and normal and you get to see your baby again. I want to ask you how does the flutter feeling feel like? I am trying to figure out that the air bubbles and sounds that my belly sometimes make is from the movement of the baby or simply gas and digestion of food.
Alreadyblessed and Literatriz - How are you ladies? I have started putting on weight and feel hungry a lot. But I try to eat small meal several time bcoz if I overeat, I feel very uncomfortable and can't digest properly. Are you ladies showing up now? Yesterday, one of my neighbor asked me straight when I am due and I was surprised that it was so obvious now.

Hi Annie!

Good to hear that things are ok. I got worried about you when I read your post. THANK GOD! yeast infections are very common (particularly in preggo ladies), so don't worry, it won't cause you pre-term labor, if anything is uncomfortable because of the itchiness, and I think the highest risks is to pass it to the baby if you have one during a vaginal delivery (and from what I've read is really easy to treat in newborns). I did a lot of research on that because I am prone to get them, although (knock on wood!) I haven't had one in months now :)

I used to live in Western Massachusetts, so it's been a big change for us. We moved here because dear husband finished his PHD and got a faculty position in a university here. We like it and we are happy.

Hugs to you, and take care!

Hey Ladies!!!

Annie- I am so relieved that everything is fine, do take care of yourself and don't worry everything will be just fine.
Its difficult to distinguish baby's flutter from the gas bubbles. Its more or less like that. Next time try to feel the place where its coming from...mine is usually right below my naval. Now the movements are far more specific and it will be more in the coming weeks. Infact, what I have read is that the period between 19-22 weeks is the time when one actually starts feeling movements. So, hang on and don't worry!!

Esperanza- Recalling what have I read about sleeping on your back- 16th week is when u should start avoiding sleeping in that position, you can sleep sideways mostly on your left with a pillow in between your legs. Thats how I am surviving these days. I have already gained 13 lbs and its just half way through. :) I will get to know the details about my placenta tomorrow. By the way, here I have seen many cases where 'precious pregnancies' like mine are handled with extra care, thats the doc always prescribe more rest and less work even if everything is alright...this is done to be on the safe side.

Babyloves - Looks like you guys are enjoying your solitary moments before the kids arrive. Oh!! I am so jealous. I can't even move out of the house.

rest of the mommies, hope u all r having a great time. I will try and update you all about tomorrow's scan as soon as possible.

Hugs and love u all!!!

Hi ladies,
i had my u/s today, and the babies are looking well, gender was hard to see as its early, but they're leaning toward 2 girls! I'm happy either way, just healthy as can be. Girls are more nurturing anyways :)

esperanza: wow, NM must be very pretty... i think you should take advantage and sightsee while you can. I've talked to several people about weight gain, and the pounds come after the 5th month usually...upto 50 lbs - i can't imagine walking much then :) Plus, we'll be sleep derived later, so this is best time to get out there!

annie: i'm glad i'm not the only one showing...my hairdresser took one look at me and asked also! I think these pg clothes make things more obvious with the baby doll style. BTW, I think ur yeast infection will be gone in no time...they are very common, but have they checked a glucose test on you?

sonu: glad to see ur doing well, it must be really tough to be housebound. Hope ur placenta scan looks good tomm! Are u sure about the 16 weeks and sleeping on ur back...my OB hasn't said anything about it, but when i looked it up its more when ur closer to 26-28 wks. The vena cava can get compressed at that stage, and then u will have symptoms like trouble breathing that would prompt sleeping on the side...i don't know for sure either, but i think i tend to sleep on my sides most of the night anyway...i guess it never hurts to start practicing :)

alreadyblessed, literatriz...hope u gals are doing well!

oops. wrong button

Hi ladies! Gald to hear that everyone is doing well! That is wonderful.
Sonu~ Congrats on what sounds like a wonderful u/s. It is getting to the time where we can actually see the person instead of the image of a peanut. It is so surreal isn't it!
Babyloves~ WOW two girls!!!!! I have 2 girls now (9 and 4), and that is why I am titled alreadyblessed, because they are wonderful. Even though they are 5 yrs apart, they play dress up together, do eachothers hair, share secrets, it is soooo cute. And they are attatched to my hip. Girls are wonderful!!! God Bless p.s.~ soooo jealous of your vacation time with hubby. Sounds wonderful. With the economy today, we are just staying afloat with the kids and the bills. My only retreat is to my backyard. :D
Amazu~ No worries about the yeast infection. I never get them, but I had them throughout both my pregnancies. It's just one of those wonderful things that we have to tack on to stretch marks and hemmerhoids. LOL
esperanza~ sounds like you have a nice vacation planned too with the DH. I have never been to your state. I imagine it is beautiful.

As for me, just chugging along. No movement yet, although I anticipate something shortly. My nose is constantly stuffy which is really annoying. I always think I am getting sick, and then I'm fine. Still gaining weight regularly, and since I have carried before, I have rounded off already just like a big ball! The problem is I have rounded off on my butt, legs and boobs too. I think my ankles are rounding off as well  I am going to be one tic tac short of an explosion when I reach 40weeks at this rate. Anyone having trouble sleeping. How about those wonderful cramps you get when you cough or sneeze?! Ouch. I have my amnio in 2 weeks and just went for the genetic counseling. My ultrascreen came back with flying colors. THey said I have the genes of a 20 yr old. At least I have SOMETHING resembling a 20 yr old. Take care ladies. Talk to you soon!

Hi all,
I am getting better after three miserable days with cold. Coughing induced some mild contractions. Not fun. Today a quick check-up, they are fine :) but all cramped on my right side. I was feeling the "flurries" but thought it would be gas - it was not! It is a bit early but there are three of them, may be that is why I am feeling them so soon. Another IVFer from the twin/triplets thread told a story about sugar intake increasing movements - one more reason not to overdose on sugar. But I will try to eat some ice cream and then lay down on the sofa, just to feel them, little fishes in my belly-bowl.
So nice to read your posts! I feel connected, as in a gynecologist waiting room in Brazil. Overthere, the waiting time is long...and people talk a lot, make friends and share experiences. I do the same here, virtually.
Amazu, yes we need change - president, ways of thinking about spending, polluting, raising children in this digital world...but changing is a good thing. Having a baby purposefully as IVFers do (we could not rely on chance!) is an affirmation of hope and change.
I did have my first yeast infection - came right after one night DH and I had a lot of fun :( It got treated very easily...but now I am kind of preventing it by washing the area with a solution of water and baking soda (I've read that vinegar does just the same). I hope you feel better soon.
Sonu, wonderful to read about your placenta - rested and nourishing - and your waving baby! 2 more weeks and he/she will be waving again. Did your dh have a chance to see it?
Babyloves, you are having fun and planning fun (Halloween)! That is a wise thing to do. I am more of a workoholic (spelling?) and could certainly use a few days of pure fun with DH. Nice to know that things are progressing nicely for you both! As of weight...how much are you gaining per week? Are the babies growing as expected?
Esperanza, good luck to you both in your new home. You will certainly find a job (after the baby is born) using your bilingual skills. The trip to Brazil may be postponed, but you are already in a much warmer climate (I do live in Massachusetts)! I am from the Southeastern state of Minas Gerais, a mountainous region of Brazil. PM me if you want to talk more about Brazil, universities and cross-cultural issues; I'd love to!
Well, our babies are growing, floating around and getting ready for a nice time with us. Let's take a break and enjoy the weekend with our extra-uterine loved ones!
Best wishes, Literatriz

Hi March mommies,
Good to see so many mails. Thanks for your supporting words. I would like to know from you guys whether you had any blood in the discharge when you had yeast infection. It really bothers me to see the blood in the discharge though it happens only once or twice in the whole day and the stains is like a thread. My dr says it might be due to the cervix irritation but I don't feel any soreness or burning or any foul smell to think a irritation or infection. So can you please tell if you had any such experience or heard any body having it?

Babyloves - Wow! Girls. You must be excited now to buy all those pink cute dresses and look for baby names.

Sonu - I also had the same feeling when I saw my baby waving at the first trimester u/s. My dh couldn't stop discussing abt it to his friends and family. I am little disappointed that I can't feel my baby yet. Dh tries to feel the baby everyday in the morning and when he returns from office will ask if I had any feeling. Thanx for the abbreviations.

Alreadyblessed - Ok so miss 20 yrs! I can relate to your problem of stuffy nose. My dr gave me ocean nasal spray which helped me a lot in sleeping. I usually put 2 pillows to get better air circulations. It might me uncomfortable first but you will get used to it.

Literatriz - Thanks for the tip of baking soda and vinegar. Once I get over this infection, I will try to follow your tips. You are absolutely right abt the change but I don't know what the future hold for us. When I watch the discussion on tv, I get totally confused as who will be the next president? Whether people are using their brain or just their emotion? I really want some good change so that we overcome this financial situation at present and can atleast hope for a better future for our children. How long can our savings last if economy goes deep down?

Esperanza - I read your post abt your stress and fight with mom. I can understand how it feels when your loved ones can't understand your feeling specially when you are such a emotional wreck during pregnancy. And ours is a special one so we have to be very careful. I think if you try to avoid caring your moms words., it might stop your momfrom hurting you more. If you would try to give reasons why you and dh did so or why you said so, it will prolong the argument and stress you more. I have this with my dh sometimes. I know he is stressed with his work and I am too but when he hurts my feeling, reasoning goes flying by the window but then I try to keep my calm and just walk out of the room. Later I try to explain him that he shouldn't have said so or why the thing happened and by that time he also realizes that he has hurt me. I hope your mom can understand when your brother talks to her.
Sending good wishes and lot of baby kicks to everyone,
Annie

Hi ladies!
Sounds like everyone is doing well. AMAZU~ I did have some bleeding with my yeast infections during my last 2 pregnancies. I remember it being like a pinkish spotting. Hopefully you will be off the meds soon, and it will clear up and you can put your mind at ease. Thanks for the info about the nose spray, I will tell my doc.
It's like you're going crazy at this point. We've all been through so much, and you don't want anything to jeopardize it. I was giving a lecture last night and one of my students came up and asked if she could go get a drink b/c she wasnt' feeling well. When she came back she told me she had mono. I wanted to dunk myself into a vat of bleach. I know it is only transmitted through saliva, but I've become such a germaphobe it's ridiculous! I also was due to have an amnio next Tues. and with all the posts I've read and people I've talked to, I've decided to cancel it. I'm a nervous wreck.
I have tried to post a ticker, but I am obviously spastic as I cannot seem to transfer the darn thing over. The best I got was to transfer the website over. UGH
Hey, anyone suffering from baby brain yet. You know when you forget your phone #.....where you put your keys.......DH's name
Take care!

Hi Ladies,
Hows everybody doing? I think all must be getting little busy as we are now in 2nd trimester away from most of our worries and more time to enjoy except me :( .

Alreadyblessed - Thanks for assuring me that little blood is ok as I was getting freaked out googling abt it. I am off my med from today but still the tinge of blood is in my discharge . Last night I strained myself little bit doing house chores and had little backache and in the middle of the night woke up shivering. So I switched off the fan and turned the heater on and after that I could sleep soundless. In the morning again I saw that the blood mucus is little more than yesterday and freaked out and called my dr. Waiting for her to return my call, I started having the thought if my cervix is giving away or what. It is true that when you get out of 1st trimester, you try to relax but for me everything starts after 1st trimester. This is the time when I lost my girl last year and I don't want history to repeat itself.

Sorry to be so depressing all the time. Hope everybody is doing well.
Annie
