Wow I dont know about the ET being done by the nurse...did you ask her how many times she's done it before? My ET was done without a U/S (did you do a trial transfer earlier in the cycle?) my RE said we didnt need U/S because he had done the trial transfer.....and I got to leave 30 minutes after ET but was put on 3 days of strict bed rest (only get up to pee, etc) no showers, nothing. I dont think I had any symptoms 8 days after transfer and I think its still too early to get a + on your HPT. Take another HPT day before beta if you want to....all my HPT's were neg until the day before the beta and then it was such a light positive that I wasnt sure if it was really there (had to ask my 12 year old son, just to make sure I wasnt imagining it). There's some I read that had neg on HPT and still got a positive beta. So even if you have a neg HPT AND no symptoms, you still could get a + beta...Keep your hopes up and pray.. :D

My clinic has women lay down for 30 min after ET, but they said it was more for the peace of mind of the patient, that it really doesn't matter. As far as a blind ET, that is very surprising to me. Were you informed earlier that this may be done, or was it a surprise to you? I would do some investigation into what is normally done at your clinic and others.

I also had a blind transfer. My RE did a trial embryo transfer before doing my cycle. I was kind of surprised when they didn't do an u/s because I have read about so many clinics doing it that way.

Good luck with your Beta tomorrow.

what state are you located? I think laws differ by state to state, but some things cannot be delegated to a nurse and have to be performed by a doctor. I would check with your state medical board, because it may be quite possible this task is something that cannot be delegated. I am a dentist for example, and there are procedures in Texas that my assistant cannot do, but in another state she could.
I am not saying to research this to be letigious, but to find out what should be done by the doctor. Also check your consent form, because it should have been specific as to who can do the ET. I know our consent forms say for an IUI if it falls on a weekend, then it will be done by a nurse. I would have been very upset if my RE did not do the transfer, I probably would have thrown a fit and asked for him to call in a substituite RE. I would think the ET is a critical part of IVF and having an ET done by someone who is inexperienced/unqualified could be a basis for failure.
Just my opinion. EIther way, I am praying that the embies took!
God Bless!
