Enodmetrial Biopsy

Post by wishing4baby »

Just wondering if anyone has had an endometrial biopsy. Mine is scheduled for next week and I am a little nervous and don't know what to expect.

We have 12 blast frosties, but before we do a FET my dr wants to check my lining. We will do a FET next month.

Anyone had this procedure and then gone on to success?

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I can only imagine how devasted you are.

If you don't mind me asking, what did the procedure entail? I am a little nervous just because I don't know what to expect.

Hi wishing4baby,

I had a few lining biopsies done on me before my iui a few years ago and I don`t mean to scare you but will tell you as is:its so painful, you might want to take some strong meds about half hour before and have someone drive you back home, not sure if everyone hurts the same and I can tell you I do have hight tolerance for pain but this one was damn painful!

So good luck girl and let me know how it went.

Natasha.

I had an endometrial biopsy done and my clinic had failed to tell me that there is some pain so I didn't take any pain meds before the procedure.

It was a bit painful for me but not an unbearable pain... the doc put the catheter in and then I felt some AF like cramping... when he took a sample it was a sharp pain, but it only lasted for like several seconds and then when he took the catheter out the cramps and everything subsided and I was fine right after.

Hi wishing4baby

At my clinic they recommend that you take strong painkiller about 1 hour before the procedure. I wanted to make sure that I was as relaxed as possible so I asked the clinic for a strong sedative so I was half awake/half asleep and to be honest I felt nothing except a bit of a cramp now and then. My husband drove me home afterwards. I had bleeding on/off for about 5 weeks afterwards but absolutely no pain. I took painkillers for the first 24 hours after the biospy. Don't be nervous and if you are talk to your clinic about what you can take. We go through so much in this ivf journey that I try to take the stress out of everything as much as possible.

Wishing you all the very best.

My experience was like Amysbabies. Really uncomfortable for a short period of time, but fine afterwards.

Seems like many of these things vary from person to person. My HSG was REALLY terribly painful but I hear that for some it is not very painful.
Hysteroscopy for me was really painful the first time but not the second time.
Me 39, endo, high fsh, DH 41 ("super sperm")
One DS from IVF #1, born 10/23/07
EDD 9/1/11 but of course, we expect them to arrive early
Passed 1st tri screen w/flying colors! Level II went great! Fetal Echo on 5/9/11

Thanks girls. You have calmed my nerves. Did the biopsy reveal anything of significance for anyone?

I have read and been told that sometimes just the act of trauma to the uterus triggers the uterus to heal itself, and that pregnancy rates are much higher after the procedure. I'll take any little help I can get :-)

Biopsy

Post by kimbers312 »

I have a biopsy scheduled for mid November, and have to admit that I am a little scared having read the responses. My clinic puts you out so you need someone to take you to and from the clinic. I was not aware that there would be some much bleeding afterward. Did everyone bleed for 5-6 weeks like Joyanna? Has anyone gotten pregnant after this procedure/or does anyone know someone who has gotten pregnant?

Kimbers312, I had my biopsy this morning. I was so nervous, but it actually was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. My DR didn't put me out, just told me to take 4 advil an hour before.

It was mostly uncomfortable, some pinching and then cramping when he was actually doing the biopsy. He told me I will have a little bleeding for the next few days. So far it has been no big deal.

Don't worry.

I am hoping this helps my next round be a successful one. Would love to hear if anyone had a BFP after a biopsy.
