Has anyone else had this happen? I had tons of nausea and cramping all last week, and was really tired this past weekend. But this week, I'm not really feeling nausea or cramping or tiredness. I'm now 7w3d.
I do know that my Estrogen levels were so high (in the 2000s!) that they took me off the patches last week, and my progesterone was high enough (in the 200s) that they cut me down to every other day.
Could the change in meds result in fewer symptoms?
yes, I think the meds intensify pregnancy symptoms. After weeks of PIO, one night I had a terrible reaction to those shots. My RE switch me to prometrium (basically progesterone in pills)....agghhhhh, that was horrible, it made me feel everything you mentioned x10 I was having a hard time. As soon as they began to lower the dose, the better I started to feel. I still had the nausea, fatigue, etc, but to a lesser degree.
I know it's hard not to evaluate every little change. I was so miserable wit the nausea, but as soon as I didn't feel it I worried crazy!
Congratulations on your pregnancy! Enjoy it!!!!

I'm 7weeks 2 days. My doctor just started me on prometrium. I was doing the shots every morning. I was really excited that I got to stop the shots, but now worried that prometrium comes with side effects. It sounds like the pills gave you nausea????? Do explain.

Yes, I was supper excited to leave the shots behind as well (particularly after that scary allergic reaction). I already had some pregnancy symptoms (nausea, fatigue, sore breasts, mood swings), the prometrium just intensified them (they were the same symptoms, just worse). So, I think that different people have different reactions to medications, AND I think that it depends on what symptoms you have now. I was also in a very high dose at first (I had to take three doses, AM, noon, PM). The pharmacist was a bit concerned when I went to pick up the pills, but that's what I needed. Then they lowered the dose to twice a day, and finally to once a day, until I was 12 weeks when I could finally stop. I was a happy woman that day!!!
The fact that I had this doesn't mean that you are going to have them. One word of advice is to be cautious driving when you first take it (at least until you find out how your body is going to react to it). I would get intense fatigue all of the sudden (it was crazy, I could have fallen asleep on my feet) AND I would get really dizzy and foggy for about an hour. Once I was at work, and I got so dizzy and foggy I was concerned with people thinking that I was high on weed or something. I just sat on a chair, pretended that I was reading until it went away.
I hope I didn't scare you. As I wrote on my original post, as soon as they started to lower the dose, the better I started to feel, so maybe it was just that the dose was too much for my body??
Best wishes, and let me know how it goes, I'm curious to know.

Thanks, ladies!
Liz, I'm not sure if it was the pills or the pregnancy that gave me the nausea--I assume it was the meds since the nausea has eased up ever since I cut back on the meds.
I actually think it may have been the Vivelle (estrogen) patches; they finally had me stop those because my estrogen level was 2,700, and only needs to be 300!!
