wonderce - sending you some pma!!! I know it's exhausting and draining but like everyone says - some people get a lot of eggs...some few - all that matters is one of them sticks. maybe one of these sucked up all the good stuff and is a super egg!

love my baby - welcome! I also went straight to ivf. it's like running a little marathon without any warmup but it's okay... you adjust and your chances are so much higher so it seems worth it.

adjec- really hoping to hear you have a BFP! I'm going to be entering the 2ww right as you leave... it's my turn in the hot seat... hope you can give me tips.

Chris - yes the doxycycline - that's what made me feel so crummy!!! now that i'm off it i'm way better... thanks for pointing that out...

NY 4th try-- you deserve extra whining allowance --- i'm also awfully constipated on this progesterone - i'm worried (sorry TMI) that my attempt at a bowel movement is going to dislodge my entire uterus... (is this bad for implantation - it can't be good)...

foreverlove and robin hang in there.... !

anyway as for me i'm a bit nervous about my transfer tomorrow but i'm back in pma land and thinking solidly good thoughts. can't wait to move forward.

hi all. so i had another u/s today after 7 days of stims. the RE says "it's good"- those are words i've rarely heard amongst my IF journey!

all my 7 follies are still there and have grown. i have two measuring at 16, a 15, three @ 14.5, and a 13.5.

i was initially disappointed they hadn't grown more, but the RE insisted this growth rate was OK, and my E2 has risen also. and my lining was "great". these positive descripters were huge for me to hear.

the only thing i was really bugged about was the expense on meds (spending 550$ a day now), as our coverage had just reached it's lifetime max. but then i contacted our provider (as it switched a few months ago)- and they don't have records of our previous fertility drug expenses- so we get a fresh start !!!! this means another 3500$ on drugs i hadn't expected. i guess i'll really believe it when the money is reimbursed, but it sure looks good. (love-my-baby- we have to pay for everything too, no IVF covered in canada, except some portion of drugs, if you're lucky)

so i'm back there on saturday am, then hopefull ER will be scheduled. i am still scared they are going to stop growing..i'm not sure why. but i just am.

i read a beautiful quote today "most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all" (dale carnegie). i think i came across that just for us :D

anyways, i'm exhausted from all the travelling back and forth to the city where i do my treatments...back to work in the morning, then after work- back on the road again.

sorry for no personals tonight...thinking of you all- those stimming, waiting to stim, in the 2WW..coming up to ER, ET..love you all and sending you babydust and hugs, karne

Just a couple of quick personals.

Adjec, GOOD LUCK!! I'll be thinking of you all day tomorrow!! I can't wait for this thread's first BFP!!!!

NY4thtry, when I did stims on my first IVF I had to go into DH's work to get my trigger shot. I made him put a chair in front of the door to the little conference room we were in, I was so terrified someone would walk in.

Wonderce, I've heard of people getting one egg/embryo and getting pregnant. You just need one.

Sloan, good luck with your transfer tomorrow. Keep up the positive thoughts.

Karen, if your RE says it's good than stay focused on that. Try to keep those pesky "what if's" out of your mind.

As for me, I'm going to enjoy my last needleless day Friday and than Lupron shots here I come!

Wow, I've only been off here for a couple days and there's so much to keep up on! I LOVE the quote Karen!! Good luck to everyone in their tests & procedures! I hope it all goes well and you get great results! :)
About the whole bedrest thing - my Dr. told me that it's good to at least have that one day of bedrest to allow your body to relax. Especially after the ET. I hear it really wipes you out and you can experience cramping and all that wonderful stuff. But hey, the reward is going to be worth all this!!!
I feel you ladies on the expense of these medications. Our insurance covers reproductive medicine however, we still have our co-pay. At least we're getting some help though. We had to pay about $1,300 with the medications being partially paid for by insurance! I about fainted! Especially when I got all the stuff and saw how much there was!! BUT, as I like to think of it - it's a small price to pay for absolute bliss later.
I'm getting nervous about the injections next week. The time has come so quickly. Before I know it, I will be going into a deep sleep for my ER & anxiously awaiting the ET then the hardest wait of all...finding out if I am pregnant or not. I'm praying for all of us in this situation and just hoping for the best. Good luck everyone and remember: nothing but positive thinking!!!! :D

Good luck to everyone! Seems like everybody is kind of ahead of me.. I am just going to start taking Lupron on Monday.. Likely ER on Nov. 14..
There's someone else here I saw that is also starting Lupron on Monday too though - still getting used to everyone ;) Thanks to all for saying hi so soon!!

Yea, the financial end of this gets me down if I think about it too much .. We are paying for every single thing out of pocket - consults, medications, exams, blood work, u/s, everything.. We're probably looking at right at 15 Gs by the end of next month.. It really was the reason that we skipped IUI's.. I know that they work for many many women, but something told me that they just wouldn't work for me.. I think my cousin's experience has had this influence on me - she and her husband are the same age as me and mine, and they went through this a few years ago to get their beautiful perfect little girl.. So, this is it - this is my shot. God that scares me.

But Wow, that end result that I want - no contest. I'd give up my salary for the rest of my life.

Well good luck Love My Baby... and good luck to all of us! :) Since you are paying out of pocket I'm glad you're going for the most bang for your buck. I have done 6 IUIs with no results. And now we're jumping on the IVF bandwagon.
AF arrived today, nearly a week late... I guess I"m still screwy from the last few cycles of FSH shots. So I will begin BCPs followed by a saline ultrasound on Nov 5 (I'm bummed they're pushing this test out so far because we can't start injections til insurance approves the test results... So I'm assuming ER won't be til Thanksgiving or later.) I'll keep ya'll posted!

I am reposting a post I did yesterday. sorry I put it to Sloan but meant to address to adjec.

adjec - Wishing you the best of luck today. I will be sitting on the edge of my seat until you post your good news. As far as beta goes I have heard that most RE's are looking for a # around 100. Don't stress too much about the # just as long as you get a BFP.
HEY LADIES ---- HERE COMES OUR FIRST BFP!!!!!

kke- I have been in this boat before. For most RE's they would like your E2 level to be 80 and below. For my 2nd cycle my ovaries were not suppressed enough so my e2 level was a lot higher then 80. They kept me on Lupron for a week and then went back for basline u/s and b/w, e2 level was still too high. They finally canceled my cycle. Don't worry this is not always the outcome. Hope you get better results with your next testing.

Happy Friday to everyone!!!!

thank you so much for your reply. so when you say they cancel you do you mean they just put it off until the following month? also one more question. i had one lupron shot on the 10th. is your cycle pretty flexible with having the shot? meaning will i not ovulate on day 14 like i normally do? thank you again for you help this is all very nerve racking.

Hi guys,

kas, wonderce, to-have-fun, - Thanks for cheering me up. I was beginning to wonder what was wrong with me...
sloan - good luck with the ET tomorrow. Sending you *sticky vibes*!
love_my_baby - Welcome to the boards! I think you'll find great support here! BTW, my DH & I are going straight to IVF also. He has low motility & morphology and they thought IVF was the right place to start and we also doing it with ICSI.
NY4thtry - Is Colace over the counter or did you need a prescription for it? I don't remember getting that in my packet of meds.
karen - you & I are tracking about the same pace. I go for my day 7 u/s tomorrow. let's stay positive!
adjec - I don't know about the numbers specifically but they told me they want the number to double from the first test to the 2nd. Our office does 2 tests a few days apart but only calls us with results after the 2nd.

As for me, my latest instructions are to continue on the same dosage for 2 more days (meaning yesterday and tonight) and then go back for another u/s tomorrow morning. However, they also want me to bring one of my Ganarelix shots with me to the office - I guess in case I need it right then & there. So, it sounds like they are pretty sure my follies are going to grow. I hope they are right!

Hey, has anyone felt really achy and exhausted from the stims? I woke up this morning and I could barely move. Shower helped but I'm still exhausted.

-Robin

Hello ladies - May I join your board? :) I have been checking in on this board every once in a while and am rooting for all of you! I was on the Sep/Oct board - but as you might've guessed, it was a BFN.

I met with RE today and I will start a microdose lupron protocol in Dec, with stims beginning 6-Dec. So far away, but DH and I have a vacay planned in Nov, so wait we must.

My first IVF was the long lupron protocol - has anyone done both of these? (both long and microdose?) I'd love to hear others' experience.

Good luck to all of you approaching ER, ET and betas!

kke - I was canceled in July then got AF. They then put me on BCP's and I did a cycle the next month. I don't know exactly what you are doing with the Lupron so I really can't comment on how it will effect your cycle. I take Lupron for 2 weeks before a baseline u/s and b/w for part of my down regulating regimint. I will continue to take Lupron till ER.

Karen - Sounds like you are stimming just fine. Keep up the good work.

Robin - You are getting close. From what I have heard they only keep you on Ganirelix for a few days and then have ER. Yeah 1 step closer.

NY4thtry - That is funny you had to go to DH's office to get the shots. I am sure he loved that. When I first started all this I decided I would do all my own shots. That way I don't have to deal with DH's schedule. Plus, I can inflict pain on myself a lot better then I can handle it from someone else. Do when do you go in for your u/s and b/w.

Sloan - Wishing you the best of luck on your transfer.

Bell-02 - I am going to enjoy my last few hours of no needles. Come six o'clock, Needles here I come.

Love_my_baby - The financial part of this does suck and I can't even complain too much because I have insurance. I think they should make it mandatory that everyone should have coverage. It just isn't fair. If I didn't have coverage I don't know if I would be doing IVF. Good luck with your Lupron shots on Monday.

havbaby1627
- My husbands insurance covers part of my meds. I am still looking at $1500 in drugs even with the coverage. I am still waiting for all my bills to come in from my last cycles. Kind of dreading those but heck it will all be worth it once I get my BFP.

Well, IVF ROLLERCOASTER HERE I COME.
