Robin - On my IVF 1A cycle I had a dominate follicle. It was over 15mm on my 5 day scan where my other follies were all less then 10mm. My RE's first plan was just to let the big one go and try and bring up more follies. After a couple more days I only had a couple more follies so my cycle ended up being canceled and turned into and IUI. It sounds like you have more follies then I did so I wouldn't worry too much about getting canceled. Your follies are just slow growers.

Karen - Just wondering how you and your follies are doing. Are you getting close to ER?

Good morning to all..
I just got all my meds in - Oh my God!!! What a shocker. There are just so many.. I haven't even dug into them yet to like find out like what do to with them all!! The sheer amount of the pill bottles and vials and syringes just... well I guess it really brings home what I'll be going through for the next few weeks. But gets me excited too at the same time! I can't wait to go through everything, however anxious I may feel..
I Start Lupron on Monday - then stim meds the following Monday. Probable ER on Nov. 14..

Amanda - I read your post. You and I sound alike . Its Also my first IVF and we're around the same age. And insurance covering nothing.. So the fact that I've heard that the 1st IVF cycle is a "practice" round, and that it really takes 2 or 3 IVF's is scaring me..
But the two women that I know personally that went thru this (One is my cousin who her and I are very close) and the other a friend of mine who did her IVF in mid thirties.. And both their IVF"s resulted in gorgeous baby girls, the very first time.. So I am definitely thinking nothing but postive thoughts. Planning for my little August baby who will be here next year :)

Let us know ladies - about how your HPT/Betas turn out in the week to come!! I know, it must feel like forever.. Not looking forward to my own 2WW ;) ha ha.. And I am such the control freak when it comes to you know, planning my life. Its going to drive me insane that I can't control this..

Gina - stress does that. maybe the pause will be good for you to relax a little...

love my baby - yes the meds are a shocker but they disappear quickly :?

robin - hang in there - my little follicles caught up with my big ones. One day for ex. I had a 171/2 and a bunch of 10s and the next day the 10s were in the 12- 15 range.... and the 17 wasn't that much bigger...

chris - love the cartoons!

everyone else - hope all is well....

So I had the news that my 3 extra blasts didn't make it to freeze. I was a little sad that there's no possible FET but also worried if that reflects badly on the 2 they put in... but I'm trying to be positive...! any thoughts on this?

Sloan-This is my first experience so I don't know if its bad the 3 didn't make it to freeze with regard to the two back inside you. To put my mind at ease know they put back the 2 best ones and if fate has its way, those are the ones most likely to go all the way. I think you said they were blasts, I believe that the first 5 days (maturation while making it to blast) is in the fallopian tubes so the lab is an ok enviornment. Chances are also that they put them back in you (natural enviornment) before they tried to freeze the others. They try to freeze them that day right? Freezing is hard on things so be positive about the two, I have hope for you. Hope you don't worry too much about it but I know every possible scenerio goes through our minds at this time.

Kas and Foreverlove, what were you saying about being sure to take babyasprin? I have miscarried and am debating as to if I should take it. Doc said I didn't need to but I also read there are chances of birth defects if you take it not under the advice of the doc. I want a baby so badly I feel I would do anything to have one these days. However before these hormones go to my head I have to remember I don't want to do anything that would potentially harm the baby just for the sake of having one. I am starting to think if I miscarry again I will take it regardless of what the doc said, nothing to loose at that point...

It sounds like a lot of women are starting shots this week, congrats ladies! Miracles are on their way, angels are starting to grow wings! Some will have pink bows, some have blue, some are so lucky he'll send them two.

Hi guys,
to_have_fun - Thanks for sharing your experience. I should have more info tomorrow...
love_my_baby - I know the meds can be overwhelming but you might want to try splitting them into 2 piles. Stuff you need before ER and stuff you need after. That's what I did and it's a lot less intimidating that way. Plus, I'm also done with the before ER box! :-)
sloan - Thanks for letting me know about your experience too. That's what I'm hoping for me too. Going in again tomorrow...

My latest update is that the RE called today and said to continue on the same meds for today, add the Ganirelex (which I'm hoping is a good sign), and go in again for an u/s tomorrow. Grow follies grow! :-) Hopefully, I'll only be a few days behind my original ER date. I'll keep you all posted!

baby hope - for what it's worth my RE says the baby aspirin will not hurt anything and it "may" help a couple of people. He does not prescribe it but when I told him I'd like to take it - he was fine with it.

hi ladies !!!! wow- lots of action on here in 2 days..so I'M GOING TO EGG RETRIEVAL MONDAY!!

I'm so happy and grateful..i was scared to death this morning, but u/s was good: 6 follies in 'mature range' (measuring: 21, 20.5, 20, 19, 18.5, 17.5), and i have 4 others (3 of which came out of no -where) ranging from 12-16.5.

these are great numbers for me as a low responder. i trigger tonight after midnight, and ER is monday morning. THANK GOD, i'm so ready for this next stage, the injections, the travelling, the stress of everything has been getting to me BIG TIME. the travelling has sucked. only 2 more trips- for ER and god willing, ET.

SO CONGRATULATIONS ADJEC!! i'm so thrilled for you- great beta #, - great indication it's not chemical...'very' pregnant indeed. very cute too- you and your dh. :D

chris- i love all your comics and creatures you post! we benefit from you work boredom..don't think you post too much. it's awesome. i showed my dh your 'i love needles' guy.. he thought it was great.

robin- let your follies have their time to persevere, and yes, the big one should probably be let go, cause if all the other mature together- you'll be rockin!! my RE says 'slow and steady is good". we're in this together girlfriend, so don't lose hope!

to lovemybaby, and havebaby, and anyone else on the money topic- here's the 'flipside' that i've discovered as someone who pays for everything except some meds- i was bitter at first, then i found out that some of the people who are covered by their plans go through much more hassle than i've had to, and the plans have refused them to go to ER if there aren't enough follies- so i'm a low responder..my clinic took me to ER AND ET last time with only 2 follies, and i got pg. although i know it sucks (think about it alot), there's always something good about where we are at.

welcome kke and sprouthaus! wonder- so glad your 3 eggies fertilized! babyhope- glad you saved some dollars :D everybit helps. and i know what you mean by 'fear with bfp'..i was explaining that to my friend (she's got 2 boys) after my miscarriage, and she said 'just wait til they're born- you'll worry they're gonna die all the time!"- yikes- never thought of that.

lovemybaby, and anyone else on the 'unexplained IF' topic- i used to have that label, until they FINALLY tested my DAY 10 fsh- they'd only done day 3 before,,then they say it.

sloan and melissa- awesome news on your transfers :D :D . sorry you're other 3 didn't make it sloan, but i wouldn't worry as they are meant to be inside of you and will always do better inside you then in a dish or freezer. that's probably why they gone. and you can't shake em out of you either. my RE says 'it's like sticking a fleck of dust on a peanut butter sandwich'. GO NOVEMBER 2!!

ok, that's all for now, sorry i didn't mention everyone. too much to keep up with. love to all. karen

ps. kas- DHEA rocks! keep knockin it back

Karen - GL on ER tomorrow, looks like you will have some really good eggs.

Sloan - Not many people have eggs that make it to the freezing stage so don't worry. They eggs that they implanted were the best ones and it is so much better for the eggs to be inside momma after 5 days then it is sitting in the petri dish. I have wondered why they keep the eggs out so long to freeze. I know some RE's freeze at day 3 so why would it hurt to freeze at day 5. Who knows. I think evey women goes into their first IVF thinking they are going to get lots of eggs and will put back a couple and then freeze the rest. Though in reality this doesn't happen very often. Good luck.

Gina - Where's AF, was her trained delayed? We will all do the AF rain dance for you. Hope your arm is feeling better. You haven't had the best of luck this past week. I am sure your like will change pretty soon.

Robin - GL with your next appointment. Keeping my fingers crossed that things progressed for you.

babyhope1 - My RE has me start 81mg aspirin on the day of ET, they say it is supposed to help with blood flow. I have heard that there is a lot of controversy with this but 81mg aspirin is a very low dosage. It wouldn't hurt the baby so I figure might as well take it, maybe that would be the one factor to help the embies implant.

Love_my_baby- Lupron tomorrow, YEAH!!!! You are one step closer to being PG.

Wonderance - How are your little embies doing? When will you have ET?

NY4thtry,wickedwheel, Melo_P, chenry - How are your stims going?

Ok, here's my latest news... Had another u/s today and I have about 4 follies that they measured on the right (10, 12, 14, and 18.5) and about 6 other small ones. I also had one that was about 14 on the left and whole bunch of other small ones. So, we are maintaining the same course. I asked whether my ER date would change and they said it's possible we will still be on target for that but might go a day or two later. It's ok - I'd rather wait a few extra days and have more mature follies. Keeping my fingers crossed... :-)

Robin, congrats on all the follies! I guess it's always better to wait a couple more days on the ER if there is a chance you'll have more mature ones by then. That sounds like a good plan.

Chris, what's the latest with you? Are you still on the Lupron and starting your stims at the beginning of Nov?

Karen, best of luck tomorrow. It sounds like you ended up with a great # of follies. I can relate to your excitement because I am a slow responder too. Thank goodness you only have 2 more trips. We will be thinking of you!

Love my baby, yes the numerous boxes of medications can be overwhelming. I like Robin's idea of splitting them into 2 piles. I should have done that and will know next time because usually all I've had to worry with is the BCP's, injectables, and progesterone. I also sympathize with your lack of insurance coverage. It sucks.

Babyhope, havbaby, Gina, Kas, and all of the other friends out there. Hope you all are having a good weekend and feeling the PMA.

So everyone, I had my ET today! I currently have 3 of the cutest little embies cozying up and ready to implant. DH and I made the 3 hour drive there this morning and are back already. We have the most awesome picture of the ultrasound on our fridge with the 3 of them. One was grade A, one B, and one C. The RE felt it was wiser to go ahead with all 3 to increase our chances and said we would likely have lost the 3rd if we tried to wait until blast anyway. I'm praying like crazy that this is it!

Sloan and Melissa, I'm now in the 2ww with you. It sounds like your beta is on 11/2. Mine is 11/6. I'm so excited already but trying to keep an open mind and just relax. Any tips? I read the post about baby aspirin and am wondering since my RE said no aspirin. Maybe because I've never had a pregnancy?

Hugs to all.
