Oh, my clinic never mentioned a mock transfer. I've had IUIs will it be the same as the catheter used during IUI?

Hi all -- wow so much posting. can barely keep up ---! apologies if I miss anyone....

NY 4th try - how did your u/s go? you really deserve some serious follicles!!

gina - that's great you get to start!

kke - i had a cyst but it wasn't affecting my hormone levels so they did my last cycle with it there...but i also had a few days where I didn't know whether they were going to let me move forward - so i can relate...

amanda - the hormones definitely make you feel like you have your foot on the accelerator pedal of emotions.... my friend told me not to make any major decisions while on hormones ;)

Karen - wishing you an excellent ER - very exciting following your developments with DHEA.

abp - welcome... this board is full of really helpful kind women!

As for me - I am twiddling my thumbs waiting until Sunday. I have zero symptoms.... nada except constipation which I have managed to get under control. I've been super tired but that was the case prior to the transfer... Today I actually feel less tired... but adjec has given me faith that I don't need to have symptoms - thanks adjec! I don't think i'm going to poas unless I have major symptoms.... if it's negative it'll just play with my mind too much. I do feel positive though... not like unrealistically positive but hopeful.... I think if it doesn't work I'll start right away on #2 if my RE lets me and I have no cysts etc....

hope everyone is good!!

thank you everyone for your feedback. this is just all so new to me the money has been a big factor in doing this. Now i guess i wait till the doc calls and see how much money i have to come up with. also someone ask if i was on bcp and the anwere is no. Has anyone had a cyst removed before doing ivf?

kke - It was me who asked if you were on BCP - reason being - when they very first found the cyst on my ovary, my doc was like "Oh dont' worry, you're about to start BCP so that will most likely take care of the cyst". And sure enough - after only 4 days on BCP the cyst was gone!

Yea, for my mock transfer, just like to_have_fun: Doc went in and did my saline sonogram, and did the mock transfer at the same time..Its just kind of like a run thru for ET day - measure the uterus, make sure everything is looking good up in there ;) Sorry, can't compare this with an IUI catheter, as I've never done an IUI - I'm sure one of the other ladies here can answer that..
I have heard, though, that not ever doc does a mock transfer...

not hopeless yet - Yes, it is just like the IUI catheter.

Ny4thtry - 10 follies is good number. I know with all the stuff you have done and compared to other cycles this might be a lower # but hopefully they all have good eggs inside and will be mature by ER.

Kas, thanks for the advice. I have one day down and 10 more to go! I guess they count the 2ww from when you have your ER? I found your summary on the book "Is your body baby friendly" very interesting. I'm always ready to read and learn more about this whole life-changing event, so I'm going to try and find this book. I have cut out caffeine and would love to do all organic, but it's so expensive. I guess it would be worth the extra expense if it helps prepare for pregnancy internally though. Do you buy at the grocery store or go to an organic market?

Yeah Gina! You started AF! Sorry to hear about the rough night. I guess you start your meds tonight though and are ready to get going. Glad to hear the good news. I'm good too, thanks for asking. Just trying to keep busy, although I find myself on the internet more and more, researching everything that I can about IVF.

Adjec, how ya feeling? Still so excited for you. Very inspiring!

NY4thtry, it sounds like the u/s went well. Ten follies sounds great. I only had 9 but was encouraged when everyone said we only need one. And you may end up with more eggs at ER. Let us know after your u/s on Wed.

Abp, welcome. I also went through one attempted cycle of IVF but was converted to an IUI because I didn't produce enough follies. They increased my dose of meds and I finally made it to ER this time. So sorry you went through such a difficult loss. I have heard many ladies on this board mention the baby aspirin so it sounds like that is very common to help with the miscarriages. It is very hard to go through all of these emotions and this board has been a great place to come for support.

Karen, loved your quote. We can all use as much inspiration as we can get. How was ER?

Amanda, I see we're both from NC. Sorry to hear your DH was not being such a DH. You definitely need lots of support, as we all do. This is also my first true IVF, I didn't quite make it to ER last time. Good luck to you!

kke, I've had a remaining cyst before and had an IUI cycle cancelled. They just had me wait to get AF and start again the next month once it was all clear. Like some others said, maybe BCP's would do it. I never had surgery to remove one before.

Robin, let us know when you trigger. That's one step closer!

Chris, love the cartoons. Keep em coming. The humor helps on a difficult day.

Not hopeless yet, I had a mock transfer before my IVF. It was very similar to the IUI, but they add the saline solution to get a look around in there. It caused some minor cramping but nothing unbearable. I think all of us deserve medals of honor for enduring all of the poking and prodding we do. : )

Sloan, I hear ya on the twiddling thumbs. I have hope from Adjec's non-symptoms. I am also staying positive and keep looking at the u/s pics on the fridge for inspiration.

Thanks to all who asked how I am feeling!

I'm sorry I don't post more...but I am definitely keeping up on my reading of all your posts. I am feeling very well. Was dealing with some co-worker stress this morning...and got really upset with myself for letting myself get so upset. I am definitely working hard on remembering that my little one is the ONLY thing that matters right now...the work drama just isn't worth it!

Overall I feel good. Still no real issues like morning sickness or anything. Just a bit more tired than normal. I go back for my second beta tomorrow, so I am a little anxious/excited to learn if my number has doubled like it is supposed to.

I told my mom on Sunday about being pregnant! She was SHOCKED and stunned and excited! I haven't told her (or anyone really) any of the IVF stuff that we've been going through, simply for the reason that we wanted the PG to be a surprise. And oh it was! But she's just aching to tell someone! The worst part is I won't even let her tell my dad yet...cause he tends to not know how to keep a secret and it's just too early to be letting everyone know we are expecting.

I am definitely praying for all of you to get your BFP....You all deserve it so much after all you've been through. I was explaining to my mom this weekend about some of you and how supportive you are all of eachother..and how you've been through so much and how all you want is a little one of your own...and yeah...I just wish I could do something to make sure you all get a BFP. But...I'm definitely sending you all lots of baby dust.

Hope you all are having a good evening...

adjec - GL with you second beta tomorrow. Can't wait to see how much your # increased. Glad you got to tell your mom. I think the one person that will be most exicited will be my MIL. If it happens it would be her first grandchild. She is a sweetheart and definatly deserve to be a grandma.

Karen - Where are you? Waiting to hear an update on how ER went.

i assume a couple of those eggs will be immature, we'll find out tomorrrow.

NY- i think 10 is great, and you never know if more will appear (that's happened to me 2x now).

well, i'm sore and still kinda drugged up..hope to get back later to post more personals. love and babydust karen

Hi, I am not sure if anyone on here will know the answer but i thought its worth a try...

I am 7dpt (3 day embies) and just took a home pregancy test and got a positive. Does anyone know if the hcg shot that I gave myself post retrieval could still be in my blood?

Thanks!
