I need help making a decision about moving my two frozen embies.
Should i move my 2 frozen embies to another clinic 30 mins away?
i'm just afraid i might decrease the chance of thawing. i wanted to see if anyone here has any good or bad experience with moving embies and if they harm the embies thawing process.

Just wanted to let u know that we moved our 5 embryos from tx to tn, all 5 survived the thawining! But I have to say this is a man handling process, the outcome largely depends on who is doing what. One can only hope they are extremely careful in handling potential human lives.

Hi Babiluv
Just to let you know my/our first hand experience.
We had 6 frosties at Hammersmith in London from our 1st ever cycle. The clinic wanted to put back to me, whereas after 7 failed Fresh cycles with 7BFNs and multiple complex issues, we wanted to put back to my amazing sister who had offered to be our surrogate. We were unhappy with Hammersmith's response so moved the 6 frosties to ARGC clinic instead who were happy to treat my sister with our embryos & said that further tretament with me was a waste of time.
You need to use special equipment to transport which is like a massive freezer box. The clinic that you are moving to should let you have. This has to be used to carry the embryos. We also needed permission from both the sending and receiving clinics which was just paperwork.
My dh acting as courier as I would not have trusted our most precious cargo to anyone else. He collected and they put them in the special transporter and then he took them straight to ARGC - about 45 minutes drive. They went straight from the special carrier into the new freezer.
At the new clinic, when my sister was ready then all 6 snow babies de-frosted. This was very lucky. Success in de-frosting is largely down to the skill of the freezing embryologist. So that is determined already for your snow babies.
4 out of the 6 started dividing. This is down to the quality of the embryos that were frozen in the first place. Not aware that moving them had any impact at all. 2 of the 4 were better quality and were put back to my sister at Day 3. It was worth growing them on after de-frost as this is a good test of how viable they are and whether the freezing did any damage.
As far as I am concerned then the transporting made no difference at all. What it did mean was that my sister and I were treated at a clinic who were highly supportive of what we were doing and have higher success rates.
My sister is 6 weeks + 1 day with our frozen embryo having delivered our only ever BFP in 8 tries so I say move them to where you feel happy and are going to get the best treatment.
