So in terms of worrying about another flare -- I have two medicines that are safe during pregnancy that should help! I feel so much is going on in my life that I am losing my mind. We just moved to CA (my idea) for better weather, but its awful for buying a house, so I feel we need to relocate again, but DH is going to kill me, he never wanted to leave DC and he was right! Not sure how to even bring that up, but I will put it off for now. Thing is if we want a nice house and nice life, it is not going to happen here unless the housing prices fall way way way more! SIGH....I just keep wondering why I did not figure this out FIRST! I am currently looking for a job out here, but its not going so well! I just want to take my old job in DC!

Anyway, so back to baby talkin'! I am trying the estrogen priming protocol this next cycle. So right now I am testing for ovulation. Once I get my LH surge I will count 10 days and start the estrogen patch. The problem is that my luteal phase is like 9 day or less, so this really might not work. I am really hoping it does, but if not, I believe we can convert to an antagon cycle -- what I did last cycle and it did get me two grade one embies at day 3...

So....that is my boring update!

Hello Ladies,

Well, I got my BFN today. So, I have spent the afternoon having my little nervous break down. I thought my second BFN would be a little easier since I had already taken a HPT and kinda knew the outcome wasn't going to be good, but it isn't.

Guess we just keep moving on. So now I wait to see if I can do an FET in November. Doc says that looks good as long as the ovaries are all quiet.

Man...that is a real bummer Helen. But from my experience, they just get worse! Sigh! But sounds like you have frosties, that is awesome. I never have more than an embie or two, nothing for later.

I bet that FET is it since they say FETs often are better as they allow you to get your uterus all happy, no fert meds going on!

I am so so so so sorry for you and I have so been there. Try to keep your chin up and move on to the next plan! That is what I try to do. Plan b (or c or d or e....)

Hi ladies, sorry i have been mia but i have been in the middle of an all out melt down. I am sure you have all been there a time or two.

Helen, i am so sorry. We all feel your pain and are heartbroken for you. I think lynn is right. You think that you're are becoming numb to it and that another failure should be easier but it aways hits harder than the last.

My ob/gyn has been treating me with injects/iui but has been begging me to move onto ivf for a long time before it is too late (which now it probably is). He and his wife are infertility/ivf veterans. They did a total of 6 cycles. Number 3 and 6 were successes. Yesterday he said to me, this is the cruelest thing that can be done to any human being. He said i have lived it in my personal life and i live it here everyday. Also, my RE told me his wife is pregnant. She is 45 and it was a natural conception. And my aunt's best friend got pregnant naturally at 49/50 and had a healthy baby at 50 (her only child). I guess i am just trying to say there is hope and there are people who do truly understand the pain you are going through.

Elida, that is great news. With all those follies there has to be some good eggs in the bunch.

Renee, still LMAO. I am going to take a copy to my ob/gyn. He will love it. Okay what is PMA? I hope things work out so your husband can be there to help out but at least this isn't number one. You are an ivf veteran now, you can handle it on your own for sure.

Lynn, does it matter how long your lp is before at that stage of the cycle? If so can't they just put you on progesterone post o? Sorry i am no ivf veteran yet so i will have some stupid questions here and there.

As for me, i had a day 2 us yesterday and of course i have a big cyst. So birth control patch for 2 weeks, recheck and hopefully can get that last iui inbefore going on bcp/patch. I am assuming i will be doing estrogen priming but not sure yet.

Heh...I called and asked about the progesterone and they said its not something they have ever tried before, but if the LP is short, we will just do the antagon cycle! So guess its just a wait and see protocol right now. I would love to do estrogen priming, but it may not work out.

Lynn, who did you talk to? A doc or a nurse? Go to have a baby.com and post that question to all the docs in every region. I promise you will get answers back from multiple RE in a day or two.

That just doesn't make sense. How long do they want your lp to last. For me if i use progesterone suppositories post o then af doesn't show up for 2 days stopping the progesterone. Many people only prometrium tablets once a day but that doesn't hold me. Please double check while you still have time.

Welcome Prayin4BFP. What an amazing X-mas present that would be indeed.
I don't actually have my first ivf until Jan. so will not start bcp until Dec. I will get all my meds then. They said the meds range between 2K-4K. I just assume mine will run onsidering mine will run closer to 4K because of my age.

Kelly --

I had a cyst on my first cycle, they removed it the day before I started stims and we had no problems! So I hope you are just as lucky. Can they remove it for you? It was a simple procedure..at little taste of retrieval in advance as its the same thing but instead they just drain the cyst (previously a follicle).

It is www.haveababy.com. You will have to register to post. It is free. You post questions under "communication and discussion boards". Don't worry, you do not have to be one of their patients. They don't care. Make sure you go to each region and post. That way you will get multiple docs answering your question.

Hey Kelly,

thanks for posting. I will reply to the doctors and see if I can clarify.

You got it right. Its estrogen priming -- protocols at CCRM and my clinic have you start estrogen on day 10 with day 1 being your LH flare. I was even more worried as I had a 7 day LP last month. I did get my flare today on day 13. So....that gives me some hope. This protocol will allow me to get the priming in (at least some). But one dr there suggested they use progesterone as well, where my clinic does not do that. I guess the fact that a short LP is uncommon complicates this....

Will post and see if I get more responses!
