Hello lovelies!!!!

I hope everyone is doing well.

AMAZU--everything is going to be fine; it's good to get the reasurance from your doctor. Thank you for offering support and advice about my mom. It's hard, but it's very true what you say about relaxing and trying not to get too much into it. I haven't talked with her since, I'm letting it cool off. She called this morning and left a message, she sounded much calmer and happier, maybe my brother had a talk with her, I have to ask him.

SONU--how are you doing hon? are you able to be more active now?
Thank you for the list of abbreviations, I'm sure it will come up handy.

ALREADYBLESSED--I get you about being concerned with germs, etc. I had two classmates who had a cold or something (I'm not sure), and I made sure to sit far away from them and I went to the bathroom at least twice during class to watch my hands. DH got a cold and tried not to touch him that much. Normally I'm the person taking care of everybody who doesn't mind touching, kissing and who's not afraid of getting sick...not anymore!!! Also, I've been doing a lot of cleaning around the house, I have this need to have everything clean (and elieve me, I've never been like that before).
I understand about the amnio, I decided a while ago that I would not have one (but of course that is a personal choice).
I don't know if it is baby brain, but I can tell you that would much rather spend the day reading pregnancy books and watching "baby stories" shows than reading my educational leadership theory books

Oh God, I gotta go pick up DH!!!! I didn't realize it was this late...I will finish up later this afternoon.

Ok, I'm back

SONU--I meant to tell you that I was so happy to read your post about seeing your baby...it sounds so endearing! Thank you for the advice on sleeping sideways. I try to be mindful, but I must admit that sometimes I spend a few minutes on my back, I just get tired of being sideways  I read somewhere that if the weight of the baby cuts your circulation from lying on your back, you will definitely feel it. Most likely you will wake up because your body would alert you about it...SO, I'm being cautious but trying not to be overly concerned about it. THANK YOU, I love how we take care of each other in this forum ;) Today, I definitely feel my belly grew up over night!! I'm serious, I've been wearing sweats all day, but I swear my belly just popped out

BABYLOVES-- 2 girls!!! if my dh knows, he's going to get jealous!!! he would LOVE to have a girl (But of course, he's super excited to have a baby, period). I have the gut feeling I'm carrying a boy...just a gut feeling. We had said we would wait until birth, but dh's patience is growing really thin, hehehhehehe, today he told me that we are definitely finding out at our next appointment...he just can't wait to be a daddy, and I think that finding out the sex will make it more real ;)

Hey! I'll try to get all the walk and sightseeing I can while I'm 50 lbs lighter, hehehhehe.

LITERATRIZ---Hello my Brazilian friend! I will definitely PM you to talk more about culture, and such :) I'm sorry to hear that you had such a bad cold...having some contractions? that must have been scary :? how are you feeling? I'm sending you lots of healing thoughts. I think I'm starting to feel my baby too. I've felt like little bubbles under my belly bottom. It's similar but also different from gas...hard to explain. I like your idea of eating a bowl of ice cream and then waiting to feel the baby...hehehe, great excuse to have ice cream, anyway!

I agree about the warmer climate, I lived in Mass and in MAINE :shok: cooollllldddd, brrrrr..... It's been windy here today and dh was complaining about it, I said to him: "hey, if we were in Massachusetts we would be wearing our jackets and scarfs by now, so don't complain!"

Ok, I've written way too much. Ok sister friends, sending you lots of love.

A Very Warm Morning to all the March Mommies
Image

Its been long since I posted anything. I am so thankful to God that all the mommies are doing more or less great!!
Image

Annie - Annie's baby is also taken care by the HIM, and he will make sure nothing goes wrong after reaching this far. Pl. take out all the fears from your mind and HE is taking care of all of us. You know very well that no two pregnancies are alike. Then why worry!!!? I understand the worries connected with the red colour, but some ladies do bleed all through their nine months. Just stay in touch with your doc, may be you need more care than anyone else. Its as simple as that. About infection, every thing can be cured. I am so thankful to God that you found out on time and that you have already started taking meds for it. Many a times ladies don't even come to know about all this...ignorant you can say.
And also don't think about ranting, because this is the place where we pour our heart out without being judged by anybody...its a bliss!!!
This is for you to bring a smile on your face.
Image

Esperanza - Thanks honey for your concern!!!! I am so so happy that you are feeling great and your DH is so over the moon. I can connect with you every bit. Yesterday night my DH wanted to hear some h/b of the baby, so he put his ears on my belly...but was so disappointed when he
was not able to make out. :) I was laughing my heart away!! At times I feel, he becomes jealous that I am connected with the baby more than him. And he says, once the baby is here, s/he will forget who the mamma is!!! I think given a chance, he would have loved to carry this baby.lol :D
Talking abt the sex of the baby, truly speaking all my gut instincts are dead in this matter, I guess I am just so overwhelmed by the fact that I am pregnant and we are going to have a baby in few months. Its a different thing that we cannot find out the sex in India. :)
I see you all being so active in these month, and even I am a workaholic person. But strangely enough, my doc has told me to take it easy till the end and he was quite clear about it. He said, this being a 'precious preg', I must take care every bit and that while working sometimes we tend to go overboard without even realizing it. And also I am not aiming for a normal delivery, I guess I am not cut out fr that, I have less a bearing for pain.
I also take a break and lie straight sometimes and you will know that something is wrong when you start feeling dizzy...am i right?? :)

Already blessed - I am so happy that you are pulling along quite nicely. I know your concern about amino tests, and I am happy that you decided against it. Best is to leave everything in God's hand, sometimes advancements in science and medicine brings tensions more than relief in our lives.

...gotta run, hope all the other mommies are doing great too!!!

Hi Ladies,

Alreadyblessed - It is good that you decided against the amino as I am also totally against it. Mostly I have heard and read bad abt it. Whatever be there will be our child given to us by God.

Esperenza and Sonu - Thank you so much for the beautiful wishes and supporting words. The cute bear and angel brought tears in our eyes. Thank you so much. We really need everybodies good wishes at this time.

I went to my dr today. She did a pelvic exam and saw everything normal and even the infection is 90% gone. She thinks the blood to be from the infection as the cervix seemed to be long , thick and closed. But from my past history, she doesn't want to take any chance so she will be sending me for fetal specialist tomm and she did some blood test too. My dh is very confident abt our dr. and says if she says everything looks good then I shouldn't worry. But to add on last night along with the shiver, I had some sharp pain in my lower abdomen which was not in any specific point but travelling all over mostly felt as if tearing my skin apart from inside. After I took tylenol, I relaxed and felt sleepy. So you can imagine how scared I am when the same thing is repeating except the bleeding which was only blood getting more heavy day by day and this time it is only bloody mucous. I wish I could close my eyes and when I open I be in my third trimester. Thanks for hearing me out. I can't pour out my heart even to dh as he gets more tensed than me. Thank you again for hearing me out.
Annie

Annie - You are always welcome, dear!!! I am so sorry that the problem has not subsided yet. But your doc seems to be great and she is taking good care of you. Pl update us when after your visit to fetal specialist. Take care and I am praying for you.

Ladies, I need your prayers for my sister who has had her 4th IVF recently and was transferred two beautiful blasts. She is into her 2ww and will have beta test on 5th Nov. She has gone through a lot, as would be evident. The chances are looking great and she is upbeat after my BFP. Lord is great and He is all the time watching us and taking care of us.

I think most of us are first time moms except for already blessed. Everything is new and exciting. And for most of us its the first time, so its fun sharing every story with you all. I am planning to stitch some baby bedding myself. :)

Lit - Hw r u doing, dear with three lil bunnies? Brazil is surely a lovely country. Would love to travel that part of the world some day.

Hugs to all!!

it is hard to take it easy

Post by Literatriz »

Dear friends,
I've enjoyed reading the posts (I was silent for a while due to a bad cold) and seeing the connection amongst us. We are not alone - and that is maybe the greatest Grace, the one that kept us hoping even when perinatal mortality rates were as high as 50% in humankind (that is, until less than a century ago).

Amazu, my thoughts are with you. I think that the big loss at 17 weeks puts you in a very vulnerable position. Good to know that you were refered to a specialist. Do not hesitate to aks for ALL sorts of tests (think tyreoidis, progesterone, blood sugar, etc). Maybe the problem is local, something like a frail vaginal mucosa or something similar to gums bleeding (that happens sometimes because we have a lot more blood now). Keep us posted!
Alreadyblessed, I laugh with your "germophobe" syndrome. I work in schools and the nurse keeps me posted. I got a cold from my stepdaugher that came to our house with a high fever(let's not talk about her mother at this point). No washing hands/face would prevent that. I also gorgle (spelling?) warm salted water at nigh when I get in contact with someone with a cold.
The "brain baby syndrome"...happens to me, too! More baby-centered in my interests, forgetful, sensitive...DH and I have a new technique to handle disagreements. Before we start laying out our reasoning, we say to each other: I love you. Every turn-taking. It works. We have also tried to "sing" our phrases. Impossible to fight this way. He and I are in the mental health business so no wonder we come up with these ideas :)
Babyloves, congratulations! Two girls! We are still with this idea of having a surprise at birth but yesterday my husband said he would like to have at least one girl...one can only hope!
Sonu911, thanks for the abreviations! I will print them and glue them on my reference book to have them handy at the hospital. I loved your doctor's advice to take it easy and respect the preciousness of this pregnancy. I will be thinking of your sister. Both of you have trouble conceiving - I hope she also has your ability to nourish a baby once the implantation phase is over. Oh, this is not my first pregnancy:)
Besides Sonu911, anyone doing baby-related crafts or needlework?
Esperanza, please PM me and enjoy the warm, dusty winds of NM!
Wish you all a nice, restful weekend!

Hola my March/April mommies!!!

It's been quiet in here. I'm guessing everyone is doing well and busy with life.
I just came back from early voting with dh :D It was really exciting. I am not a U.S. citizen so I cannot vote, but dh became a citizen about 2 years ago, so this was his first time voting in this country. We had a good time. Met some acquaintance, met new friends, and felt part of the process. The energy level and the post was really good too. I can't wait for Tuesday to come, I think it's going to be an exciting day for the country. I know I'll be watching and thinking about it all day...I'm obsessive like that!

I'm 17 weeks today, and my belly is showing more and more. The other night we went to a dinner party and one of our friends asked my dh "are you guys expecting?"...I think that made dh really happy, he just can't wait to tell the whole world! he's so funny. I'm more reserved when it comes to that, he, in the other hand began to share it with everyone as soon as I gave him the green light couple of weeks ago. He even told some strangers at the voting post today

Next week is our big ultrasound to check the anatomy of the baby. We wanted to wait to find out the sex at birth, BUT my little social, impatient butterfly husband has decided that he cannot wait...so I guess we're finding out next week  :P  I'm excited about the u/s AND I'm nervous...I'm hoping it's nothing but good news.

Anybody starting to feel their little ones? I think I have, it's like little bubbles under my belly bottom.

LITERATRIZ--How are you doing with that cold? I hope you're feeling well. I imagine it's much harder on your body given that you're carrying 3 in there  Have you been exposing your nipples to the sun? I still think about it, but have not found that magic private space where I can do it.

I'm not doing any crafty things...yet...I've never been like that, but now that you and Sony put it in my mind I'm thinking that maybe I should. I think it'd be so cool and sweet to make something for my little one. My grandma used to make me skirts, and small pillows with my name, flowers, and little houses. I remember those with so much love.

SONU--I'm praying for your sister. Sending her lots of love and blessings. How is she doing? how is she coping with he 2ww?

How about you? how's your precious pregnancy going (I love how your doctor calls it that way...he's right!)? have you been feeling him/her more lately?

AMAZU-- how are you doing my dear? I've been thinking about you. Remember, no two pregnancies are the same. How did it go with the fetal specialist? I'm hoping everything is ok. Anytime you need to talk or to share anything, come over here and let us know. I know what you mean about dh, so times they don't know how to support us. They try, but I think it's hard for them because they are also scared and don't have answers. this process can be frustrating on partners. I think!

BABYLOVES, ALREADYBLESSED--sending you lots of luv. Hoping you are doing well.

Hey All...

Hope everyone is doing just perfectly.

Esperanza - Thanks for the well wishes for my sis. She is coping up well, we converse daily at least twice a day (she is in a different city). She is having PMS and all the other symptoms but don't we all know how misleading these can be. I just pray everything goes well for her. Her big day is drawing closer.

You are excited because you are the part of the system in US, well, partially. In fact the whole world is looking at US elections very closely. Yes, we have some exciting days to come.

I couldn't help smiling at your DH's reaction when asked 'are u guys expecting?' Ya, I also sometimes wonder how my DH asks a casual acquaintance- 'you know about our good news, right??' :)

It will be exciting to find out about the sex of the baby, and then you can plan your crafty things...whether blue or pink. I will have to go with neutral colours.

My best wishes for the anatomy scan, i have heard it takes a good one hour. I went in for the scan at the beginning of my 20th week but we couldn't do it as the baby measured little less than 20 weeks. So they booked me for the beginning of 23rd week. So we both will be having the same scan around the same time. My appointment is on Nov 5. When is yours?

Hugs and wishing more flutters and 'butterflies' in the stomach!!!

Hey dear!!

Thanks for the wishes for my sis. Although I just have male factor issues but in this cycle it was discovered that there are some issues with her egg quality besides male factor. So this cycle was done wiTh DE. Yes, it is distressing and we are battling it out. Its particulraly harsh upon my mom who blames herself for all this, this is how old ppl think we can't help it!!!

I hope you are dealing with your cold well, I can feel discomfort at night when I have difficulty in breathing when I lie down. and then in the morning I have stuffy nose. sorry tmi.

Mental health business is interesting!!! and i like the way u guys handle your disagreements, I am also adopting ur way. :)

Hi SONU--my ultrasound is on Nov 5th as well! great :) we'll both have something to share on that day.

I'm not too stuck on "pink" for girls, "blue" for boys. I think this whole gender role thing limits people (starting with the way we dress and treat our babies). Of course, if I have a girl and she wants to play with dolls and wear pink it will be just fine, BUT if she wants to get dirty in the mud and play with balls, she will absolutely have the freedom to do that (viceversa if I have a boy, if he wants to play with dolls or do more "feminine" things like cook or dance ballet, I'll be supportive regardless). I think I'm going to buy lots of "neutral" colors as well: yellow, green, orange, etc. 8)

Ok, I gotta run now, hugs all around!

having a problem with my computer lately. Sorry about the last short posts. I've typed so much to each of you ladies and each time it gets erased. So frustrating. :x
Literatriz~ I was cracking up when I read about your conversations with hubby. I would be singing all day long  I think it's an awesome idea, and with my DH's singing, he probably wouldn't make it through one sentence without me cracking up! Which in turn would lighten the mood right off the bat.
esperanza~ Good luck on your sono! I've been through this 2 times before and at the 20wk sono you can see everything, so lay back and enjoy each and every part of your precious little one!
Sonu~ How is your sis doing? Looking forward to seeing her on this side of the forum!
AMAZU~ Thinking of you and praying for you. Hope you are feeling wonderful.
As for me, I gave in to the DH, and wound up doing the amnio on Tues. I was told to take it easy for 24 hrs and since I take everything to the extreme, I was on bed rest for 48hrs, and I have done nothing but relax today. I will feel much better when the results come back and I know that all is well. I put it in Gods hands, and I know he always knows what is best. During the sono we asked the sex, she initially couldn't tell because of the position of the baby. At the end, she said "Don't go out and start buying clothes or anything, but I would say 85% that it is a boy". Then the doc came in and said the same thing. Having two little girls at home, you can imagine how ecstatic we were. We would have loved another little girl just as much, but it's nice to have a new experience, and since this will be my last pregnancy, it will be nice to raise a little boy. The amniotic fluid was very dark and cloudy though, and they think it is from all the bleeding that I had early on. When we were paying the copay the sono doc came out and said "there is one thing I can tell for certain, and that is that this is going to be a very tall baby" everyone in the waiting room smiled as I am 5ft9 and DH is 6ft5.
Take care ladies!!! Feel well!!!!
